Poor Yutaka was struggling trying to get that first pick out. 16:26 - 16:46 ended me. Especially George’s “thank you… for that” 😂 Love that you guys mixed it up a bit with this episode. One focused just on hauntings would be fun or true crime. I’m scared of true crime so usually avoid it but I’d make an exception for the Horror Hour
This was such a cool episode, I'm fascinated with urban legends! I'd love to see more topics like this, like about horror stories besides the ones told in movies. Most of the urban legends I know are the ones everyone knows, like the one about the babysitter on drugs who baked the kid in the oven. Or gross ones like the people who got served a fried rat at KFC or the old lady who tried to dry her dog off in a microwave and it exploded. All of those stories I heard as a kid. I had a messed up childhood. 😅
I legit thought someone was knocking on my door, I even opened my bedroom door and got freaked out when no one was there. Had to rewind the video to make sure I wasn't crazy 😂
Dark Water was released in 2005. Elisa Lam died in 2013. Also, it was relatively easy to access the roof through a fire escape near her room, and her scent trail was detected in the window accessing the fire escape. The water tank lid was open when she was found and there was no indication it was locked or closed before. Her tox report showed she was undermedicating, so this is most likely just a case of a mental break leading to accidental death.
From my area the one that always stuck with me growing up was The Green Lady. A local castle there is a story of people seeing the ghost of a woman in a green dress next to the fireplace holding a child (Queen Victoria even claimed to have seen her). When the castle was renovated, children’s bones were found under the fireplace. There were many school trips where they’d take us, as kids, into this room and tell us this story of this damn Green lady. As an adult I’ve never revisited that castle 😂
This was a fun episode. Pugga & Liam with their Cricket internet. lol Originally was thinking it was going to be about movies that involve urban legends, haha.
I have heard many urban legends growing up. We have the urban legend of the Donkey Lady, M*dget Mansion, the woman who danced with the devil at a night club, the ghost tracks, La Lechuza (owl with the face of a woman), and of course La Llorona. I remember Yutaka mentioning that he had a story about haunted train tracks. Ours was a school bus got hit and the tracks became haunted. So if you park your car on the tracks it would be pushed off and you would be able to see finger prints on the back of the car. For La Llorona, my aunt lives near a drainage ditch and claims to have heard a woman crying loudly near it many years ago. My aunt says that she got sick at the sound of the crying.
That clown story... no ma'am. I remember hearing it when i was a kid, but it was a little different. This college student was babysitting a kid too young to speak. The baby keeps crying and looking/pointing towards this creepy, 4 foot tall, clown doll. It's super heavy, but she able to move it into the closet. About an hour later, the mom called to check in. The sitter said, "everything's okay, but I had to move that life size clown doll into the closet because the baby kept crying." The line goes silent for several seconds before the mom says, "you need to get the baby and get out of the house." The girl asks, "why?" The mom says, "we don't have any clown dolls." She hangs up the phone and goes quietly to the baby's room. She takes a few steps into the room and notices the closet door is open. She sees blood dripping from the crib. She turns to run out, but the clown is standing in the doorway with a bloody knife. The other one that always freaked me out, I also learned about as a little children. It's the Skinwalker, which is of indigenous origin. I don't know that they are technically an urban legend, but Nick mentioned the Mothman, and I feel like skinwalkers fit into that same category. Give it a goog if you haven't heard of them. I went camping a lot as a kid and those stories legit scared the shit outta me.
Yutaka was struggling trying to get his first pick out. 16:26 - 16:46 killed me. Especially George’s “thank you … for that” 😭 This was an unexpected but cool topic. It would be interesting to see one focused entirely on hauntings or true crime. I’m terrified of true crime, but I’ll make an exception and watch if Horror Hour puts out an episode on it.
The Springfield Three, a mother, her daughter and a school friend disappeared from their house in 1992. Ever since then people have been saying they have been buried in concrete in the Cox Hospital parkinglot.
Urban Legend (1998): She's a woman of integrity, intelligence and ENERGY! " Urban Legend (2000): "Well, she tried, at least you know she-" Urban Legend (2005): "They were old maiden type of shoes, and she said that those shoes were meant to be worn on a beautiful woman so if that's the case, she should have put them back on the rack and she should never even purchased them because she was UNQUALIFIED to own those shoes if that's the case"
George dropping a Mystery Hunters reference made my day!! It was such a childhood staple of mine, and I’m pretty sure it’s Canadian if I’m not mistaken. That was also my introduction to all things creepy spooky 🖤
Yes! I love urban legend. My parents always told me scary urban legend stories growing up. Also I've always wanted an Australian horror film about the Bunyip! I was told this story by elders as a child and it traumatised me! 😅
There’s this one urban legend that terrified me when I was younger. In it, a woman is leaving a store's parking lot when an elderly woman stops her and asks for a ride. She naturally answers yes because she’s an elderly lady and wouldn’t do any harm. However, the woman feels a little strange about it, remembers she left something at the store, and promises to return. When she gets back, the elderly woman isn’t in the passenger seat anymore and realizes she left her shopping bag. When she opens it, she discovers a gown, a gray wig, and a revolver at the bottom. Terrifying to think about…
skinwalkers are my absouloute favourite... nothing really irks me but something about shapeshifters that are so uncanny... creeps me tf out.. plus they're universal..
Love these videos!! Also am I the only person who didn't know a mini series based off The Shining was made in 97 lol apparently it's good and closer to the book... did p know about this haha
nothing like david talking about his anal scabs to even out the vibe 💀 i LOVED this episode, urban legends/scary stories are so much fun and listening to you biddies chat about it brought life to my boring day ♡
Speaking of clowns, here in Brazil there was an urban legend about them when I was little. These clowns appeared on the streets and lured children into a van promising sweets and toys just to kidnap them and collect their organs. It's called "A Gangue dos Palhaços" (The Clown Gang)
There's an English countryside urban legend of a demonic witch called Black Anis, who had blue skin, dark long hair, razor sharp long claws and teeth, and she'd abduct childten through their bedroom windows, skin them, and wear it. She is said to live in Leicester, in a cave called "Black Anis's Bower". I really don't know why a horror movie hasn't been made of her yet, she is genuinely terrifying.
The urban legend that scared me as a kid was El Chupacabra. My whole family is Puerto Rican so I can’t tell you how many times I heard about that thing.
wait that story about the clown in the room with the babysitter is from one of my fav movies when i was younger it’s called “amusement” it’s really good.❤
That moth man movie scarred me as a kid lol. I thought it was real and if I thought of him too much he would know and come after me. 😂 Also I had to sleep with the blinds turned upside down for years so he wouldn’t be able to look down at me through the gaps Lmfao
Pugga and these edits! Not fading into the light. 🤣
Bahahaha!!! That about killed us!!
Haha not Yutaka finding out about his own Urban Legend as he reads it. 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣 the research that went into it
Poor Yutaka was struggling trying to get that first pick out. 16:26 - 16:46 ended me. Especially George’s “thank you… for that” 😂

Too late he’s traumatised already 🤣

Same!!!!
I also don't walk on sewer grates or near those drainage holes, all because of the IT miniseries. I was too young to watch that! F*ckin' Tim Curry. 🥹
Tim Curry was a menace!!!!
