    I got to see her perform this at the Met. I think she may be about to be the best singer in history. I cannot describe what it is like to hear this live. It is like listening to this recording x10

    Gorgeously sung. Interesting how some of the most poignant, deeply human moments in Donizetti's operatic output are in his comic operas.

    Belle performance, dommage que pour une oeuvre chantée en français ..., son français soit incompréhensible.

  • @operafy
    @operafy 3 года назад +5

    Son français pourrait avoir une meilleure diction, cet enchaînement de "r" roulés enlève toute l:"émotion à cette aria.

    Good! I prefere Dessay or Rancatore, even Sutherland was very good in this role.

      Dessay is a circus performer. And "even" Sutherland? Lol. The Voice of Century. Joan Sutherland could outsing anyone. And did, you blithering idiot.

      The oldies, that's why opera is dying, people are frozen in a bigone era

    • @MisterSoprano
      @MisterSoprano 5 лет назад +7

      Don't be rude, please. To call dessay a circus performer is rude. Have heard her Marie life several times, and she was superb. Well, i am not a fan of Sutherland, but I admit she was a great singer and Marie was one of best things she has ever done. I respect your opinon calling her "voice of century", I just dont share it.@@brunoantony3218

      @@francisconogueira5684 Surprisingly there's a movement for small opera companies, providing a more intimate experience. Against the Grain does awesome productions and they even have 'Opera Pub' events where you can hear opera singers perform in an open-mic type of setting - those are also great, and this style of singing really is best when you can hear/feel it in-person. I could go on and on but I definitely encourage you to give opera a second chance.

    Small, airy voices. No core. What is going on? Fakery to the max. All mics and production.

    • @ScoreAnimation
      @ScoreAnimation 5 лет назад +14

      The mics are used so you can here it right now, not for amplification when the singer perform.

    • @josephhapp9
      @josephhapp9 5 лет назад +3

      Silver Singing Method don't the microphones record the sound for the DVD??? If I'm watching a film or DVD of a live show I want good sound quality.
      Go to the live performance if you want to criticise.

    • @morebaileyskim
      @morebaileyskim 5 лет назад +9

      The mics... the mics are so you can hear it in this recording lol. Have you been to the Met? They don’t use mics unless they are filming. I saw her sing this live. Small? Hell no she FILLED that room like very few can.

    • @VeronicaBellSoprano

      i don't think her voice is small but she already has some pretty serious vocal issues. she doesn't know how to project, resonators are not working, she is a bit flat, she doesn't support piano and her jaw is involved. she needs a good coach asap.
