For those interested in what it looks like in practice, I've posted a short addendum video ruclips.net/video/gxDlWMrLlbA/видео.html Correction: 1% Corsair perk is equivalent to 100 Mastery (said 50). Thank you to Bed (Sailing Discord).
ive watched like 10 bartering guides so far and not one, NOT ONE has touched on what to actually do. Yeah i understand the concept of bartering. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU START? Amazing.
For the sake of brevity, didn't include everything in the vid but here's the tldr version: Step 1: open barter menu, look at what gets traded for what (shown in video). Step 2: talk to wharf manager where your boat is stored, take out ship, click on ship then "load cargo" from the window that pops open, move cargo from your local storage to your ship. Step 3 sail to said island barterer, click anchor, click barter button, exchange goods. Profit 😁
This same and my 1st run went so badly because so much they didn’t touch on this one wish J found it sooner was allot more helpful but I did comment & ask a few more questions that I had about the runs themselves.
Question I am just starting out in barter and my 1st run went so bad 😂. I didn’t know how to deal with over weight stuff and wound up deleting half my items & guides I watched didn’t touch in that stuff , as I was going through and figuring stuff out it got smoother. My question is, when starting out , how should I go about the barter items? Like should I focus on stacking up some T1 and T2 items in the beginning then move on to T3 & T4 items then T5 ? Or should I try to go to T5 from T1 right away and store or sell the extra left over items ? Also 1 more you can sell items at storage keep for raw silver, is it ever worth doing that ? If so what are the best Raw silver ones to sell ? Like should I wait till T4& T5 or is it ever worth selling any lower grade items ? Or just hold on to them ? I do know I need to get T1 items and stack some up to get the ship upgrade stones for my gear so I can start upgrading my my sailboat to advance for more weight. I’m in a epheria atm.
Apologies for the late reply. Hopefully you've found answers for most of them by now but I'll try to answer.... the short version is just go slow and try to learn the basics of bartering... don't worry if it isn't the most efficient. In my humble opinion, Bartering is about relaxing on a boat going from place to place. Like you figured out, it's about building up your supplies of T1s, then T2s and eventually all the way up to T5s (selling excess but keeping some around for Crow Coins). T5s are best efficiency for silver selling. Once you have a high enough barter count, more routes will open up and you can be more choosy about what barters you want to take.
It depends. I mentioned in my video that bartering is probably the most efficient way to make silver per amount of effort. If you have lots of time and don't mind getting sweaty, perhaps grinding is more for you. If you want in and out of a room doing other stuff or watch a movie or don't have a dedicated time/focus to grind, bartering might be worth it. Also keep in mind grinding sometimes requires defending your spot which burns additional time and effort. This is just my opinion though, I just wanted to add some nuance to the conversation. Thanks for the question!
In case you would like data for comparison, I usually get 8 T5 nodes per cycle * 2 cycles without VP * 6 trades per node * 5m value per t5 = 480m almost guaranteed. no buffs needed. consistent silver while i watch 2 movies or edit together a music vid.

Thank you for watching my Balance brethren :)
Is this still worth it? as of June 2023, I did some research and many site said it's not worth for silver I don't know why.
