It's hard to do slow burn RP when cops are more willing to speed run raids, warrants, search for a peakable item, in order to "find" something. Just look at the Changaloa arc. It was a slow burn arc waiting to happen but cops literally just said "f that" and fast tracked everything to oblivion.
Trav and Blau are completely out of touch with the topic- they're stuck here talking about crim vs cops with basic crim actions, while Saab and Mehdi werw talking about rp between crim and cop and how they should read the 'atmosphere' of the situation. Trav and Blau barely focused on the rp aspect between the two sides and only talked about the technical and mechanical aspects of gaming.
Ain't no way your arguments are valid when you talk about the gaming aspect instead of interactions and tactics.
I love Mehdi’s take here because it’s absolutely how I feel as a watcher. I stopped watching as much NP because it felt like that variety wasn’t encouraged and all the chases and RP with cops just became to ‘aggressive’ (for lack of a better word)
It’s tough because getting Role-players that can be that fluid and put in the immense amount of time isn’t easy it takes talent …but it is absolutely necessary and when it fell off for me was when a bunch of the mass hirings happened. I almost think responding to the huge amount of crim’s with mass hiring Cops was a bit of a mistake. It felt like while some interactions a streamer had were good but those interactions became less and less frequent. Great conversation though. Super insightful.
It reminds me of being a good GM/DM. Sometimes you gotta lighten up the monster mid fight because the variance is just going against the adventuring party to much. Other times you’ve gotta buff it mid fight and break out the tough stuff because they are just rolling. The cops on Nopixel certainly don’t get enough credit all the time for the fine line they need to walk and unfortunately sometimes I feel not all of them realize the immense responsibility of that position/prio.
@@Footfetish42069 that’s absolute nonsense. If the goal is to be giving role-players and ensure everyone has fun that is the biggest load of malarkey I’ve ever heard. If the goal is something else make it be known. I feel like that exact justification is used to mistreat certain groups on the server because ohh LB are always to be treated like this or CG should always be treated like that. Or because this is a big streamer we should treat them this way. That’s absolutely the most backwards way of doing things. Ensure people are having fun. It’s tough but role-playing isn’t always easy. Super rewarding but not easy.
@@Footfetish42069 hopefully with the culture shift caused from differing servers and the refresh and new ownership it’ll be alright. I’m going to go in without preconceived notions and hope to be pleasantly surprised by great RP from both crim and cop. Maybe I’ll be let down but perhaps not. I just gotta hope. I do wish it was addressed by Buddha today but I’m going to be optimistic until proven otherwise.
@@Footfetish42069 Idk would be really cool if people like Sodapoppin came back. I saw Vigors tweet out “RP is Cringe” in response to 4.0 lol. Not really counting on anyone coming back. I’m sure Xqc will and that’ll obviously bring a whole lot more people. I know Fuslie will don’t know if that’ll be anything long term or anything tbh but I love watching her RP. I hope Ramee and K come back but who really knows. I wanna see some more Cops as well. Esfand showed interest and having Cornwood would be sweet. I’m sure hundreds of streamers that I don’t know can and will try it. That’s part of the reason I’m optimistic. I don’t mean this in a rude way but ONX happening might be the best thing for NP truth be told. The lifeblood of RP is creativity and the same people get’s kinda stale. I feel like some people got burned out in 3.0 and rather than take a healthy break to refresh themselves creatively they just logged on and 2nd life’d the server. Without that work/home balance lines got blurred and people took things too personally. So honestly with that I’d rather creative people who I don’t know try out the server and get to play with and enjoy Roleplayers who have been refreshed.
Yeah i remember that, the mass hiring was an unfortunate bandaid for the problem at that time, cops were omega burnt out of the amount of resource vs the amount of crim, it was bank after bank after bank. And it turned out to have a devastating lasting effect. Is it a bad decision? Yes, does the decision made sense at the time? Yes. I dont think anyone couldve done it better or it wouldve solved long ago tbh, most ppl only complaints and no one trying to actually fix it, like talking to the ppl in charge, trying to find solutions, nope just complaints. Even the rank officers do is complaint, and when ppl want to make change they complain about it. No one wants to do the work to get better.
But yea i agree, being a cop is a hella responsibility, i do think cop rpers should be more mindful as a mini dm sort like, they lead song and dances, the give and take. It's useless to rp as a cop if you just grinding the arrest and not make an rp out of it, like it is also useless to grind some crim jobs if you dont make an rp out of it.
Poor Trav.. he always has to argue if anyone he dislikes is doing something good. Somewhere along the way he was dejected and still hasnt recovered

It boils down to this...Cops on Prodigy are much better than cops on NP. It really is night and day. It was so refreshing to watch prodigy coming from watching nopixel for years

One of the best breath of fresh air as far as cops go was Carmine. I loved interacting with him and just him as a person. I was actually kind of sad he was fired because he didn’t take it “seriously”.
idk what argument travis is trying to make when all through 3.0, mr. K from cg was giving cops the best RP and a lot of chances for them to investigate but it always ended in 1-2 days speed runs of them knowing everything and knowing it was cg type of bullcrap LOL... in the end what i am getting out of it is he wants crims to hand them RP in a platter for them to do their detective crap so they get the W while crims dont get rewarded for it and in the end he wants to say buddha wasn't slacking at the start and end of 3.0... bro he got handed everything to him by DW when someone gets the keys to the city with admin panels and rp handed to you how can you fail?

I cant say for sure but I can speculate, that Management on Prod is much more forgiving and willing to have conversations. There will always be new cops/ new crims that will break rules and shit lord. But if you talk to them and give them a second chance, you can make some great RPers.
Too much take and not enough give has been what happened due to the culture of 3.0.
The ‘go hard’ notion that pd put in place right at the beginning caused a chain of back and forth that eventually made the stale meta that caused it to lose its ‘magic’
There WAS rp in chases in the past but there’s no breathing room or trust anymore to try and put more rp in chases.
I just hope they lean more towards 2.0 standards than what 3.0 ones going into 4.0.

15:33 yeah the mantis mentality is wait till the very end and then make a manufactured hissy fit in RP to match your OOC toxicity and burn all the bridges right as you decide to leave the server you’ve been on for multiple years, complaining and blaming other people for perceived slights and showing to everyone that you have no humility and an ego problem.
Trav is right, chases aren't RP. The RP is before or after being caught, which lacked on NP. The chase is the catalyst of potential consequences. When you know your RP is ending if you get caught, because lack RP, just straight to jail, deal with a robot; this brings out the worst in people trying to get away. Remember crims are hanging out, having fun, and up to shenanigans. Cops have very little to offer in regards to that, nature of the game. Very easy to be a cop and have fun by ending someone else's day, you don't realize it, doesn't have to be malicious. You cops who understand their fun is based off the interactions of the counters in this game, for the most part. Respect the other side, is catching them really the point. The need maximize time and fines as some arbitrary accomplishments or consequence. Wouldn't you rather have more opportunities to play cat and mouse. Why limit it by killing the mouse for the night, much less torturing it in captivity alone. How many times you see cops on NP just leave people in a cell for hours just to maximize the charges, who cares, your not actual cops and these aren't actual crimes. Why not enjoy it and get them on their way, so can do it again...create RP stop taking it away. Blau and Saab are like educated dumb people, if you an explanation of how that works ask an intelligent friend, if they can't answer they are not.
PS. Sorry for grammer on phone and long rant. This criticism is not an attack of character but a warning, I want to see NP do well. I fear that they have yet to see the problem and are destined to repeat it.

Facts. Too many. “W” chasing toxic Cops would pull a try hard moment and end the chase 5 mins in. Be it ramming at 132MPH or spam taseing and spam tackling. To locking them in a virtual room for 6 hrs with 0 RP or content. All for the LULZ. NP suffered heavily from this. Let’s hope they learned their lesson and ONX / 4.0 won’t repeat their ways.
It's hard for NP cops to have fun interactions with people because they would literally get punished for not acting seriously at all times. Fingle Dan would get yelled at for messing around(having fun) too much.
@discrtidunkwn So the RP happens before and after the chase, right? So what RP to crims get when cops gun them down before the chase even begins? What RP do crims get when cops gun them down during the chase when there’s no reason to? The only answer is that crims get NO RP from cops before or after because cops are constantly doing dumb shit to ruin the situations. Only about 10% of cop mains actually knew how to RP. Hell crim mains who played cop 1 time a month provide more RP in that one day than the 90% of cop mains provided combined for that month.
My only take on what I’ve seen from videos on prodigy’s cops is they are overly aggressive. Shooting for grabbing someone who is downed or cuffed, full on T-boning. That isn’t good on my pov but as a whole they seem good everywhere else.

Have you not watched nopixel for the last 2 years? Nopixel cops do way worse... at least in prodigy, the max speed to pit is 80 and they usually dont shoot like that unless its cops like 813 who goes in like cod and tries 1v4-6 2 different gangs in fights@ziowar2176

Naw, let him go back and forth. If he is upstanding guy shouldn't matter where he plays. If some reason he's not, I doubt that, then he'll get called out for shady behavior. Otherwise, building bridges is better for community than cutting ties. I think Onxy pre banning and gatekeeping will be the sword edge, it will blow up the server or blow up the server. NP and Prodigy aren't throwing shade, maybe outliers, that is good for community.
