I found you very relaxing to watch and listen to
This is exactly what I was looking for! Such a great video, thank you so much. Encouraging using less plastic and reusing scraps, the perfect project! Also, love the quote, "Don't be an idiot." Need to be reminded of that constantly.
Ha ha, thanks Mimi. I'm always an idiot!!! c x
Thank you so much - my daughter is having a zero waste wedding & I'm making these for her shower!!!
Perfect and very practical video, thank you!!
Also can I just say that Corinne sews with absolutely FORMIDABLE efficiency? I am in awe.
😁 Formidable efficiency but not always accurately!!! c x
Thank you so much for ur lovely tutorial .. I am a beginner and I made this .. so proud of myself.. only because of you 😘😘😘😘😘
I loooove your British accent!!! Your tutorials are always simple and ecofriendly!!Thanks a lot!!
I made a slightly smaller version of this to make a glasses case for a friend. I’m a beginner and found the video easy to follow. Thankyou for the help 😊
I'm going to use your method to sew a music recorder holder for my girl. Thank you so much for this tutorial. It's clear and detailed. 👍
That's a great idea, this design would be perfect. Wish I'd thought of it! c x
Love it thank you my first time of watching you def be back
Exactly what I needed, so quick and easy to make, with supplies I had laying around. This may be what my colleagues get for Christmas gifts. Thank you. Wanted to add a photo but I don't know how.
Thank you for being so clear with your instructions. I'm new to sewing and need all the help I can get.
Glad it helps Kamilla, c x
You’re a superb presenter Corin and this project is excellent. Thank you.
Thank you very much! c x
Thank you very much! I spent hours thinking and creating something good like this. I made now first Yours and it is so much better than other ides. It is small, I do not need lot of material, it is fast even I sew everything by hand.
Thank you for trying the idea, glad it worked out well, c x
Thank you
Great little pouches & very easy to make
This is an amazing video.I make lunch for my husband and I and trying to keep buying plastic cutlery is insane. This is the PERFECT solution. This video is quick and easy... Thanks for posting
Lol! "Don't be an idiot, double-check your work." 😂 too funny! That would definitely be something I would have a momentary freak-out over. 😜
I made this today and it turned out great. This is my first sewing project and I'm happy :)
Great video, I think I’ll use this technique for my Christmas table setting this year. Thanks a lot! X
Just made this cutlery pouch. Thank you so much for really easy to follow instructions and demonstrations.
Really liked the way you lined the pouch, hadn't seen that before, so I made one for my son and one for my DIL and they're great. I might make a few for my market table, see how they go. My engineer son thought it was a pencil holder :) my daughter in law got it right away, thought it was very clever- not sure she cared for the fabric I picked though- that part is hard sometimes. I made her a coffe cosy too, I think she liked that. Sometimes you hit, sometimes you miss. Thank you for a very good tutorial.
It's a really versatile pouch - pencils, cutlery, spanners, make up brushes... anything long and thin really! c x
exactly what I was looking for, this is so cute and simple. Thanks for the idea, this will accompany me to uni, traveling and basically everywhere!
Glad you like it Lisa. My daughter's even taken one to uni so it must be useful! c x
Great tutorial and easy to follow instructions for a beginner sewer like myself. I looked at a number of options for how to make a utensil holder and this was by far the best! I now have a cute compact little spot of my utensils rather than the odd fork or spoon floating around in the bottom of my bag.
Glad you like it! c x
Am going to make a set for my nephew for his school lunchbox. Thank you for sahring
Really like this idea. Sets for a family would also be great included in a picnic set. You always come up with great projects!
Thanks Jeanne, glad you like it. You could also use the cases for toothbrushes/paste or makeup brushes, c x
I'm certainly going to try this. I love the loop of fabric idea and sewing on the tab first. Excellent.
Made this this afternoon. Super cute and easy to make. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing this! Just finished making the pouch, and it was a very quick and satisfying sew.
Glad it worked out well for you, c x
Very clever and very useful, thanks,Jess
Beautiful pouch !! I love sewing crafts !!!
Nice Christmas present idea.
Thanks for demoing this so clearly, Corinne. Love your projects. You are an inspiring teacher
Thank you, glad you like it x
great!!! as i was planning to make some for my colleagues because I want them to bring their own cuttleries than use the disposable plastics! I LOVE YOUR TUTORIAL!!! straight to the point!
Excellent! Glad you like it. c x
Excellent! I'm going to make one today. Thanks so much.
I love this, it is way better than the one that I had made, mine was a different design. I will be making a couple of these that you have shown, only I will make an additional flap as I also take Stainless steel straws as well as the cutlery and Chopsticks. Thank you for this idea.
Can you share your design? I am wanting this but an additional flap for my straws as well.
Thank you. Like you tutorials. Just made a cutlery pounch
Great idea and great small gift idea for everyone pretty much.
Thank you c x
I just discovered your channel and from a beginners point of view, you are an EXCELLENT teacher!!! I find that most sewing instruction videos can drag on and on and lose my attention, but your videos are so entertaining and very easy to follow! I’m subscribing right now! 😁❤️
Thank you so much Grace! Believe me, if my producer didn't always impress upon me the necessity to keep the demos fairly snappy I would drone on for hours.... ;-) c x
oh my goodness, this is exactly what i was looking for!!!! i love this so much! very easy to follow and wonderful instructions!
i will be making a couple of these to accompany me around campus! thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you for liking them. They are really handy for all sorts of other things as well as cutlery, c x
Just discover your channel. Thank you!!! I love your presentations!
Thank you so much. I going eco friendly and this is super helpful. I am a beginner and this is easy to follow.
This is the tutorial I’ve been looking for ❤❤❤
I have watched this video so many times and managed to construct two of these. Definitely a little rough but the second was better than the first haha! Cutting and sewing straight is so hard!
Gets easier with practice Alice x
Thank you for showing this really good idea! We can avoid a lot of plastic this way! 👍 😻
Excellent. You are a wonderful teacher.
I love your channel! I also love and you talkin about your personal life.
Ha ha, don't tell me that, there's soooo much more personal stuff I could share... c x
This is extremely helpful! Thank you very much!
Wonderful n love ur channel .. my kid daily takes cutlery pouch to school .. I love all the lining n reversals u make 👍👌👏👏👍
Just finished making mine but I had to add an extension piece of fabric as I needed it longer for my cutlery, take note when first measuring ! I also tapered the fold end to fit into the tab nicely . But it looks good and does the job nicely now I've done those adjustments.
Glad you were able to adjust it to fit your cutlery. It's a really handy little pouch with lots of uses, c x
Thank you so much for sharing this. It was so much easier to make than I thought it would be!
I made it and I love it! Thanks for the simple and very easy to follow instructions 😊
I always wondered how this is done with no visible seam. Thank u
excellent thanks
Great. Thank you. PS: loving your hair!
Thanks Susan, yes didn't realise how nice it looked there! Been three years since I dyed it now and it's the best thing I ever did! c x
I love this!
This video and you yourself are amazing!!!
Love this case
she is such a sunshine
Haha, most the time...not *all* the time!
love it, thank you
This is lovely! Thank you
Perfect, thank you 😊
Late to the party. But I love the construction of this utensil holder. I plan to take my own utensils to work now. One, because it’s better for the planet and two, I won’t worry about someone having touched the utensils. Thanks for the clear explanation of the holder.
Glad you like it Mary c x
Did you sew the part that was open after you flipped it?
Qué lindo! Me encantó. Super práctico. Gracias por compartir
Gracias Ingrid, me alegro que te haya gustado. c x
Did I miss it, or did you not sew close the turning hole?
I love little lined pouches with a flap but could never figure this out!
ADD (Sept 2022): I thought this seemed familiar when I started watching, then I looked at the comments and see mine at the top LOL. I did make a cutlery pouch but I have no recollection of if I used this pattern. Now I’m looking for a toothbrush pouch and his will work perfect!
She made a top stitch around the top that closed it.
I will definitely be making these. Can’t wait to eat out without using those disposable plastic forks and spoons. :)
Gostei muito. É fácil e muito útil. Obrigada.
Obrigado por assistir
Suzana, c x
I just watched your video am just wondering is 100%cotton to make the cutlery pouch
Hey, it's lovely 💕 can I use any kind of fabric? I'm new to this and got no idea what kinda fabrics I should use for different kind of sewed stuff. Ty!
Hi, most of what I demo uses 100% cotton but you could make these pouches with poly cotton or another woven material that's not too thick. Avoid stretchy knit types for this, c x
Thank you so much! 💓
Hi there::: can I ask the exact measurements of the fabric. .?
Hi Audrey, don't have one to hand to measure but I'm sure the closure tab piece is 4cm by 6.5cm (1.5" x 2.5") and the long strips are 6.5cm by 46cm (2.5" x 18") as they were cut from a FQ. The method will work with whatever dimensions suit you best, c x
I think the part to close up the inside hole is missing!
What width of seam do you see please?
I usually use 5-6mm (1/4") on everything that doesn't have a lot of stress on the seam, c x
I am really curious why you cut your threads with scissors instead of using the thread cutter on the side of the machine? I followed this instruction and made one right along with you. Thanks.
Ha ha, mainly because I forget it's there! c x
Hello! Are there written instructions for the pouch? Thanks in advance!
Hi Lee, there aren't any at the moment. When I get a minute I'll try and put some together. Bear with me! c x
Is there a simple way to do this craft.i m a beginner but I love doing craft.eespwciallt your channel
I've tried to do this as simply as possible while still hiding all the raw edges. You can make it by sewing the two long rectangles together nearly all the way round, turning it the right side out and then folding the bottom up and sewing the sides to make the pouch but you might get bulky seams. C x
Why can't we stitch the lining with the outer cloth at the same time. I mean what the purpose of making two separate flaps and then inserting one another into each other ?
Sewing the separate flaps means there are no raw edges so less chance of frayed seams. You can sew it differently but it won't be as neat, c x
I guess she wants an interior pouch that can come out on its own
you are so wonderful! ty
Thanks very much Daisy!
😂 how many times do I NOT lift the foot. Thanks for this.
😆😆 c x
I made this and afterwards realized there is a much easier way to make this. Wouldn’t it be easier to put all pieces right sides together, leaving a hole to pull through inside out, sewing all the way around? This would also ensure the lining is a better fit.
Hi Michele, I can't picture how you mean sorry. Have you made one your way? c x
I watched the whole video so many times wondering why it was complicated. Because I too would do it the way you mentioned Michelle. Sounds much easier. Right sides facing in leave a small hole, flip out fold in had then stitch partial way up, and done.
TheLasheryPdx this is the way I made my phone case. The downside of this technique is, that you’ll see the top stitching on either side of the pouch and it normally doesn’t look very neat. This method is more complicated but neater. If you want a quick functional method, yours would work as well
Both ways work. I think it just all comes down to which finished look you prefer. I was also waiting for the pull through hole to be sewn shut but that wasn’t done for this project.
I tend to just take my sketch pencil out and use it to turn the fabric back out.
Don't be an idiot…just double check your work! That is me! :) Thanks for the tutorial.
Ha ha, the older I get, the more stuff is going on in my head and the more of an idiot I become... :) c x
Ooo thank you, that' s what I was looking for! I' ll rember not to be an idiot. 😉
Ha ha! c x
I don't have a sewing machine, could I just hand sew this?
Yes! A neat backstitch, or even a small running stitch, will hold the pieces together fine. Just sew in the same order as the demo, c x
Love this project, but found the instructions a little rapid and confusing at times. I'm not a complete novice but it was a new project for me. Will pick it up again later and finish off in my own way.
Have a look at this one Joanna, it's made in a similar way and might help, c x
Your pointer finger got so close to the needle so many times! So nervous for you! It came out looking amazing, though. Thanks for this!
Ha ha, thanks for your concern. I've not *yet* managed to sew into my finger...but there's always a first time, and I'm fairly sure we'll be filming it and producing it as a 'how *not* to sew' demonstration!!! c x
The Crafts Channel 😭😭😭 please be careful!
really nice, but the pouch came WAY too small, could fit only a small spoon :(
Oh! I think I did use small camping cutlery when I made it. Could you use the one you made for make up brushes and then make another that's a couple of centimetres wider for your cutlery? c x
@@TheCraftsChannel will do!
Super cute but the video was so confusing for me... I’m a beginner and would not feel up to this task. But thanks for posting.
It's not the easiest to get your head around. If you're in any doubt, try it with some scrap fabric and just use tacking stitches to assemble it so you can see how it fits together once it's turned the right way out. c x
The Crafts Channel thank you for your comment. I will try :)
Great video, good instructions
Please be more cheerful 😊 though and I might subscribe.
Ha ha ha! I am honestly cheerful. Maybe I was having a long day? I tend to get in the zone when I'm working and have a naturally resting b***h face sadly 😉 c x
Love your video and British humour! But am I the only one whose presumably normal sized cutlery proves to be too long for the given measurements?? I can see many people made this and they are all good 🙈🤔😊
Ah, yes, didn't think of that. The cutlery I used was a mini travelling set! I reckon if your fabric is twice the height of your cutlery plus 9cm/3.5" that should give you enough of an overlap even with seam allowances taken off. You might want to make it a little wider too as the spoon bowls will be bigger, c x
@@TheCraftsChannel Oh, I am relieved! I didn't do anything wrong! 😀 Thanks for the tip!
how are you? Could you have email?
Sorry, no email here, but you can ask a question in the comments, c x
