girl SAME. I loved Evangeline, and I would 100% be similar to her if I found myself in her position, like all of her choices made so much sense to me through the whole thing... and she remained very true to her character through the whole series. I just liked that she was different from other main characters that are in pretty much every other fantasy book.
Daisy Haites The Great Undoing is literally ART ✨ that book undid me. Julian Haites is top tier
I’ve not read that one yet! On my TBR for January 🙌🏽 I’m still mentally recovering from The Long Way Home and I read that in like May 😫

@@fifs7400 DH2 felt like a character study of Julian. You see his reasonings and just more inner thoughts to him that we didn’t get to see in prior books (especially after the events in the long way home). I think he may grow on you if you weren’t convinced in Daisy Haites/Magnolia Parks.
@@rochelle1199 Felt that! I just recently read it last month because we don’t have the next book out yet but I couldn’t hold off 😭 The great undoing is definitely my fav in the series!
I'm team Evangeline too! I appreciated how good she was with being herself, she was just refreshing for me ❤
My reading goal for 2024 is to read more fantasy because I read my first fantasy series which was the once upon a broken heart trilogy and now I want to branch out and read more 😁💕

Omg the energy you brought in this video with just the pure fangirling that bursted through as you would grab a book that you loved - THAT is why I watch booktube. I’ve been having a dreary morning, and I’m doing paperwork at my job all alone at the moment as I watch this video, and it’s just unexpectedly brightened my morning so much.
Editing to add my reading goals for 2024: I’d mainly like to get through more of my physical TBR. I have roughly 100+ and I’d like to see it go down lol
love this set up and everything you talked about, just finished divine rivals a few hours ago and im in LOVE! the quotes you read from it were some of my favorites as well, such a swoon worthy book!

I had high expectations for Hopeless as well. It was decent, but just not what I was expecting. I figured Beau was gonna have the best book.
I loved "re-reading" all the Emily Henry and TJR books as audio books this time around. Julia Whelan is such a great narrator. Thanks for inspiring me to try ACOTAR this year!!

ahhhh so weird! for me Divine Rivals felt like a war book with a romance subplot, and a bit Insta-Lovey. So curious how you perceived the opposite of me! But they were definitely a cute couple, I just wanted more development from them !
if you liked divine rivals, i really recommend rebecca ross' other book Dreams Lie Beneath!! its a fantasy standalone with such cosy writing similar to Stephanie garber and the romance is also rivals-to-lovers

Daughter of no worlds was SO GOOD and then I ended up skimming the second one and dropping the third one (although I did skip to the ending for closure once I decided to dnf) 💔 it just became so messy and exhausting l

My reading goal this year was 20 books and I also want to lower it a bit next year so I have more room for bigger books and such. I also want to use my library more and maybe find a favorite book to buy a special edition of.

I read Heartbreak House-share because of you. I’ve never heard anyone talk about it, but you spoke so highly about it that I had to. I love it so much, rated it five stars. Everyone in their 20’s should read it
I’m reading Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow currently and I agree. I don’t know why I want to keep picking it up but I just do, it’s really good so far
Have you read fourth wing?? I feel like you would love it if you haven’t! I just finished fourth wing and iron flame and it was jaw dropping, show stopping, incredible. I can’t stop thinking about them!

This was my first year making a goal so I chose 50. I'm currently almost finished with book number 71 though so I'm thinking I may can read 75 by the end of the year. I think this upcoming year I am going to set my goal at 70 and see how I do. I am taking an English class in college next spring called Known Authors so I'm sure that will add a few books toward my goal next year. Its kind of nice because its hard to fit reading in while being in school, but if its for an assignment then it justifies spending my time reading. There are so many books on my TBR I could probably have enough to read one book a week for 2 years. I will stop everything for Iron Flame and the new Maple Hills book featuring Henry. I cannot remember the name of that one, but I loved Icebreaker and Wild Fire.
This year my goal ended up being 25 and I think I’m going to go with the same. I’ve read around 30 books this year so far but next year will be busier so I think 25 is manageable

my 2024 reading goal will probably be 55 books and I definitely want to tackle my physical tbr
Reading goals for next year is to read 60 books versus 100 for the same reason as you I would like to read longer books and not feel pressured to meet a goal versus enjoying the books I am reading.
The way you described daughter of no worlds is how I feel about all Carissa’s books… and I thought it was my fault 😭
I read 15 books this year. I will probably do 10 books in 2024 since the A Court Of Thorns And Roses series will take me a few months to get through. I am only on book one which is 419 pages.

I just read They Call Her Sofia by Doris Ladino and I loved it! It’s a book about healing and finding self love after being betrayed and manipulated. It’s sweet and spicy. The audiobook is very entertaining and easy to listen to. Overall , It’s a feel good book and fast read. Enjoy!
My biggest reading goal for 2024 is to finally read The Book Thief! I’ve been putting it off for way too long because I have high expectations and I’m afraid they won’t be met.
Please read some Jane Austen if you haven't! They're classic literary fiction! They're so wholesome!

I want to get into reading more series for 2024. I will have read 100 books this year. I plan to only read 8 books this month.
Maybe i am broken because i didn't like Divine Rivals. I literally felt nothing for the characters or the romance😩. Maybe i need to re-read it. I read it after finishing ACOTAR series and Manacled so i was quite possibly in a slump

As a reader and an author, I can't dedicate all my time to reading (tho I wish I could read more) but I think I'm close to having read 30 books this year and I have plenty to read next year and I want to read a book a week next year, so around 50 maybe :D
