I'm constantly amazed that in your early videos you said when you and Ken married you couldn't boil water. Sister, you are amazing and an inspiration, even to old women like me. I accidentally stumbled onto one of your videos a few weeks ago. I confess, I'm hooked. I love your cooking videos, the homestead updates and your dates with Ken. God bless you and your family. You've got a follower for as long as you post.
I agree as well. I just found her videos/channel this evening. First video I watched was her pantry stock up video. I live in a small Western New York town, so I know what she means when she talks about the weather, and how the stores are far away! I just love her channel and I’m definitely following and subscribing!
I just started watching your channel. You have replaced Pioneer Woman. Your recipes are easier to follow and closer to the type of food my family likes to eat. Do you have a cookbook? If not, you should. You are an amazing cook.
Angela Brown Thank you Angela for the encouragement. I had to learn to cook to feed our boys, they always played sports and had large appetites. Shelby
Wow! Your videos are so underrated. Everything is homemade! I am 23 and have been married 3 years. My mom never cooked or taught me how so I have learned and grown tremendously in the last 3 years through RUclips. But after seeing your videos I realize I have a long way to go! You blow me away! I would love to be able to cook like you one day... and I think I will. my problem is I hate following a recipe so I rarely make the same thing twice but your videos give me lots of inspiration and motivation!
I honestly love how much care you put into feeding your family. It’s rare to see nowadays, but I’m thankful for my mother who taught me that value. The leek soup is such a great idea to incorporate the ham. Saving this for future reference and those dinner rolls are a must try!! Thank you for sharing 💗
I love watching you cook! I cook like you do and try to plan as well. I love a good deal and really love being able to make what we want/ need without having to shop every day or even every week. The one thing I've noticed in my 60 years, couples today have such a screwed view of meal prep. My family loves my cooking but even I and my friends who also cook from scratch, good homemade meals, have to fight and squabble over the food budget. I adore how Ken is not only aware of what it takes to feed your family as well as you do, but he hardily and happily participates in getting and preparing it all. And that pantry! Girl! I finally made half of my office my pantry for small appliances and canned goods. Now I can cook! Nothing makes me feel happier than seeing them finish it all with smiles on their faces. You are the Queen! Keep sharing and thank you for all you've shared thus far. Lea- Geneseo, IL Little Victorian town in Western Illinois, soon to be moving to Iowa. Home to more Amish markets.
Shelby, I have been binge watching your videos. You totally amaze me. Your everyday cooking is more elevated than most of the best cooks I know. I am learning so much about how to prepare meal plans and menus. You are so kind and I love the way you have opened your home and life to us.Thank you for sharing all the great recipes! I appreciate you and your family and admire what you have accomplished. You can't imagine how these videos have blessed me. I am sure others feel the same way. God bless you and your family. Malina
My goodness, I somehow found your channel and I am addicted. How do you all keep so slim with all that fantastic cooking. THE kitchen is EVERYTHING! I am truely in awe.
Many of my subscribers have recommended your channel to me. I finally had some time to sit and dive into your videos. I can certainly see why because everything you make looks delicious! I was drooling over that ham. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos! We visit Cooperstown every summer to go to the Hall of Fame. Love it there, so very beautiful!
I just think you are amazing!!!!! I am recovering from two back to back back surgeries and found your channel and am loving it!!!!! Thank you for sharing
I love that quote that cooking doesn’t mean fancy. Cooking for my family fills me with a sense of pride. I can make tasty, nutritious food cheaply and with love for my husband and sons. They really appreciate it they always thank meã de ask for leftovers. I can make a tasty meal with cheap cuts of meat and vegetables and like yourself I use meat bones for stock. Thanks again for the recipes, you really need a cook book of your own. xx
I love your videos they make me feel so calm. The best part is watching you use the tomato sauce that I saw you make from scratch in an earlier video. I felt excited that you were using up an item you worked hard on and put so much love and energy into into yet another delicious meal for your family
my mom cooked a lot when we were kids, but now she works a lot.. gosh I wish one of your sons were gay so I could marry into the family with all of these recipes!
@@TheQueensCabinet Well I mean I do love my momma! lol still want to keep her! but it happens when ya grow up a bit.. priorities change a bit even for parents!
Oh, I wish you could cook for me!! ( I’m a 60 y/o grandma who did cook like you do for my family of 3 boys and I girl on our rural Indiana farm-I just don’t do it anymore, of course. They are all grown and I just would rather someone else cook now!! 😂 Your food looks wonderful!! Ps..I still like to make bread and do take food to my farmers in the field one day a week during harvest. They still like hearty and healthy foods!
Kim Everhart Kim I bet the farmers really appreciate that. Just a question, this year we had such a wet spring and a lot of farmers corn crop suffered. How did you fair in Indiana? Shelby
TheQueensCabinet Thank you for your kind concern. It will be a devastating year across our country for agriculture and of course for us grain farmers as well here in central Indiana. We are a determined, incredibly resilient bunch and I think we will be able to weather it. Our hope is that our markets and prices turn around soon so that we can at least break even. It is this way for most of us. I don’t think most people understand. Thank you for asking and being so kind. ♥️
@Kim Everhart and @Eyeswideshut Ladies God Bless each of you and your families as well as all our farming family and friends! Praying for each and everyone now and always! You ARE THE TRUE Heart and Soul of our country and we would be nothing if it were not the all of you and what you do for our Great Country! Know you are loved and prayed for by so very many! XOXO
I lived in Buena Park and my Dad worked at Knott's Berry Farm in the mid '60's, he was an engineer and created their jam processing line. I am going to have to try the dough recipe...loved the Chicken Dinner's!!!
I am learning so much from you! My mom and grandmas are no longer with me so you have given me lots of recipes to try! Cooking from scratch is so awesome !
@thequeenscabinet this is the first time since i moved away from home - back in the early 1700s, that i’ve attempted to make bread. maybe making biscuits from scratch gave me confidence. but your recipe was so simple - i couldn’t resist. i thought i messed up the fermentation process but kept going. kneading wasn’t a problem either. i did the laundry in between risings. they came out really nice, soft n fluffy. even the next day they were still soft. I had 20 rolls in total [some were larger than others] the remaining rolls were wrapped and refrigerated. the only thing i will change is the amount of salt i use…to taste. so thanks - your recipe gave me the courage to try again after a few hundred years - lol!
Hi Shelby, Hi Ken. I recently found your videos and thank you guys for sharing your story with us. Love your recipes, every thing looks sooooo delicious and not so hard to do. You have such a beautiful home and homestead, like how everyone works together outside or inside. Thanks for sharing your "snow scenes" with us down here in the SE. I'll keep watching. God Bless.
Hello, My name is Anne-Marie and I am your number one fan. I am a 50 years old. I havent commented on many of your videos but Ive watched every video youve done and I just want to thank you for amazing content You are a class act my dear. I love your trips with Ken and I learn about a lot of different things to do out there. My husbands children live in Ithaca so we travel a lot out there and go to different restaurants and fruit and vegetable picking at places youve bloged about, so thank you for those types of videos ❤❤❤
We put some hatch green chilies in our ham cheese and potato soup. It's so delicious. Your family is very lucky to have you. You're a great cook. I don't have to taste your food to tell how sumptuous it is.
Just found your channel! I love to see how other families budget and plan...and eat! Meal planning, cooking and taking care of my family are my calling and when I get home from work I'm in my element. That stuffed pasta looked delicious! Adding it to my meal plan rotation. :-) I often stuff pasta shells with bolognese but am def. going to stuff them with that mixture and cover in the bolognese sauce next time! Thanks for sharing. I've just started to vlog and find it the hardest thing to remember to film when I'm cooking and miss steps with my camera. We've often missed the 'finished product' pictures because we all sit down and eat it without thinking too! Lol.
New subscriber from Ontario Canada . I just stumbled across your video when you showed a pantry stock up and I was hooked immediately. My Irish mother always said it was a comfort to have plenty of everything and I so agree with her. I also enjoy stocking up but I have yet to achieve your level ❤️
I just located your channel I will have to say you really amaze me in your organization. Outstanding! I would like to see you make those beef tacos or burritos Your plates look wonderful🙂 How did you end up from LA to northern NY?

I know that you're a New York transplant from Los Angeles, but I don't believe you originated there because of the slight Southern accent I catch a glimpse of every so often. I'd absolutely love it if you'd enlighten us about your life's journey. Best wishes for you and Ken.
As always, I love watching your weekly meal plans. I especially like your bread recipes and was wondering what kitchen towels you use to cover when the dough rises. I just love the color and weave.
Hi Shelby, all those meals look amazing, the boneless chicken and the salad with the cranberries and pecans looked so good. All your meals are so fabulous Love these videos, I am still here 🙋🏻♀️❤️
Oh My Goodness...everything looks so delicious....I'm going to try that chicken on the grill..Also I eat those exact beets like candy...I'm the only one in our house who likes them....I've went through about 10 jars in the last year....not kidding....I love them. I sometimes put cut up slices of cucumber (soaked for 30 min. in Italian dressing), those beets , cottage cheese all in their own area in a bowl and eat that for my salad.
You are so organized with your giant haul last week and your meal planning this week. How many kids do you have at home?? Dinner for Friday night looks easy and yummy. It's definitely starting to be soup weather. Way to use up all your leftover as to put them in a soup. I have never made homemade yeast bread or rolls. But really want to give it a try. Omgosh those rolls look amazing!! My sons are all grown and out of the house but they love when I make a taco bar. You have so many great recipes!! Thanks for sharing
I just happened to watch this again today. Oh man Shelby, can I come to your house for supper??😉 Everything looks so good! Thank you for sharing this wonderful, inspirational cooking videos!
I love your channel!!!!! I second the cookbook idea. I see so many of your recipes that I want to try but have a hard time trying to find them again!!!
Your such a great cook, do you ever get in a rut and don’t feel like cooking or nothing sounds good so the meal plan becomes difficult?,I’ve been that way for a couple weeks.
I bet everyone watching your videos wants to live at your house lol But on a serious note,I really believe you should audition for MasterChef...seriously.You never cut corners,or have a lazy bone in your body, you're inspiring, love your videos.
Thank you for talking through most of your videos! I drive midnights, and listen closely to your recipes on my Bluetooth. I made your chicken curry, red Thai paste, coconut milk. It was so yummy! I used mahatma yellow saffron rice. God bless you, and your beautiful family. Are you a professional chef? I’m also learning some basic cooking from you as well, very informative. Please add a tutorial on your clam chowder, or she crab soup. Thank you again!!
OK, Shelby...when are you going to publish a cookbook???? Your recipes are sooooo delicious-sounding. I'm with the person that's about to eat their phone (which they must have watched this video on) :-) Thanks for sharing another yummy menu. :-D
