Yeah, this is one way to think, and useful. On the other hand, I have to admit it is mostly caused by space/cost savings. In a long work/entertainment session, I don't think the passive cooling is as sufficient as at least some airflow. :S

amazing video man. di you recommend this laptop are the 4gb ram enough with this low power cpu and does run hot? i need something cheap for some simple tasks and i love the looks of this laptop.
If you can try to go at least 8GB. With 4GB, Windows+browsing will eat up pretty easily. 8GB should be plenty enough for office/browsing tasks. And if you need extra storage you will still have the option to expand. Since RAM is not upgradeable try to grab one with 8GB.
I went through this a number of times. As a suggestion you might mention the place for the added SSD when you can see the clear space (3min). Also, not sure why you pulled the motherboard when you could have just removed the heat shield to show no expansion possible. Also, you didn't mention anything when you added the card so I had to guess that was what you were doing. Just tips :)

Yup, the network / BT combo card are using one of the 2 available m.2 slots. you can put any M.2 2280 SSD in the empty slot. Take note that there's ONE standoff for the second M.2 port meaning it can only be used for M.2 2280, the '80' in 2280 designating the length of the ssd in MM so 80mm or 8cm in length is the only ssd that will fit. the FPS is not adjustable in any BIOS settings, firmware or via any software.... its a cheap laptop, and frankly ive thought about putting an ssd in as well but a solid high capacity M.2 2280 drive costs more than the entire system its self.......

You need to do some more research because your question is nonsensical. M.2 is unrelated to NVMe, although they often go together. Basically M.2 refers to the mechanical SHAPE of the SSD, while NVMe refers to the digital communication protocol used between the computer and the SSD. You can vary one without the other. But in general, most newer SSDs are NVMe, as is the case here. But I would emphasize that an NVMe SSD *IS* "normal". Completely.
The "problem" with this model, is It only has one antenna (which is connected to the Wifi card). Better Wifi cards usually use 2 antennas @3:59 on the card top right corner are the antenna plugs and as you can see only one available. Also, it is labeled (little text near in the middle says MAIN), another plug called AUX. If you buy a better/faster card (like AX200), you should use the MAIN plug and leave empty the AUX. The other solution is just to purchase an additional antenna and place it somewhere near the plastic corners. It will give better Wifi coverage (signal strength), and also faster network speed. But probably your CPU will be not fast enough to handle AC WiFi speed anyway... :S
@@MakaiTechReviews Of course the CPU can handle AC speeds! Wireless-AC speeds are still a tiny percentage of the CPUs bandwidth. What might limit you is the speed of the eMMC storage device, in which case installing an NVMe SSD could be a good option if you know what you're doing and can perform operating system installations from scratch. But before you think about upgrading either the WiFi card or installing an SSD, remind yourself that you only paid around $200 for this and that all upgrades to it are inherently a bad economic idea versus having purchased a better laptop in the first place.
You mean the display panel number? Your best option is to download HWinfo and read out your panel number. More info of your panel can gain at panelook.com Hope I could help. 😉
Tested and there are cases the cpu starts to throttle. (As like many active cooled notebooks) But if we consider the reason this machine is built for (web browsing, video watching, light office tasks) you will not experience throttling issues. Gaming is simply not an option on this hardware.
@@bugleboy5 It's not very likely. The CPU in this laptop is very low power (and slow), and probably would not benefit from any high-end thermal paste. The reviewer never said it ran hot, and I"m sure it doesn't.
It's likely the CPU can be made to throttle under adverse laboratory testing conditions, but when used as intended, it's unlikely that throttling will be a problem. In fact, it will be the least of your problems. Instead, you'll be suffering from the unusually high access latency that all eMMC storage devices have, as well as from a fairly slow CPU. That's why this entire laptop is so inexpensive. If you even *know* about CPU throttling, this is NOT going to be a good laptop for you!

my laptop is this model and the ribbon cable for the screen is loose i think. the display is very glitchy. how can i fix that? do i have to disassemble entire screen?
I had exactly the same problem (screen would stop displaying intermittently, particularly when moving the lid). There is a small ribbon cable connector hidden behind the plastic bezel at the bottom that had worked loose. I had to prise the bezel (similar technique to removing the back cover but super carefully for the thin side parts as they are quite fragile) , carefully prise the LCD panel from the back of the lid (it is stuck with some adhesive) & re-connect the ribbon cable to the socket. Then I just pressed the screen against the lid to try to re-stick it & clicked the bezel back in place, carefully making sure not to pinch the screen cable at the bottom. This worked for me.
I watched a different ASUS E410M SSD upgrade video as I want to add additional storage. It stated that SATA is not compatible with this laptop model, only the 2280 NVME type.

Gracias por este video, pero ni siquiera tiene ventilador para enfriar la placa, esta laptop es desechable, no le veo una inversión a largo plazo ya que solamente duraría un año y luego tendría problemas de calentamiento y dejaria de funcionar
I don't agree with the other answer. While it's technically correct, you MUST reinstall Windows on the new NVMe SSD or your laptop will continue to run extremely poorly. The speed improvement you'll get by booting from the NVMe SSD is dramatic, so you'd be wasting your money if you install an NVMe SSD but don't boot Windows from it.
