I listened to this interview and I now feel so sad that people say things like "can Coldplay be cool again?" or "the new Coldplay sucks". I know it's the price they pay for being successful and that not everyone will like their work, but he just seems so humble and unaware of their impact in music that it just seems unfair to me. I'm not even a fan, I haven't listened to all of their songs, but I do love the ones I've listened to.
You can tell they put a lot into every little thing they do for their albums and it just breaks my heart that people don't even think of appreciating that. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I wish there was more respect for art in general. Why is it okay to insult someone's work of art (a song, for example)? Why can't people accept bands are formed by humans who live, grow and change as much as they do so it's impossible that at 40 they make the same music they made at 20?
People expect new songs from their favorite bands to be good in the same way their previous songs are. I think songs are like flavors. People should stop demanding bands to change back. Music is made by the life, experiences and feelings of their creators, and music, even if it comes from the same person, is an ever-changing work of art.

Well people grow apart sometimes and it's hard to live with someone everyday if you don't get along anymore. Being friends is easier cus you are not with that person all the time and you can understand things from a 3rd person's point of view... I have never divorced (not even married), but I understand this cus I've seen my parents fighting everyday of my life and I wish they could just divorce instead =S

idk how he is on a day to day but any interview i have come across he is always the same beautiful soul. I am disable I do not get out really at all. But would love to be able to see him in concert one day. With my handicap added w my financial status it would be a feat for me to be at a concert. I refuse to say "not possible" but for sure a challenge. Im blessed to have the internet to connect with those in the outside world. This man brings joy into my world and that is everything when you live in my world.... When there are no words there is always music... play on

I'm watching to their show in São Paulo (which I think is the best ever!) for the fourth time and I gotta write this; it is the most beautiful and helping art that I've ever been in contact with. I had been depressed for the last months and was truly thinking about giving up on life. It's pretty hard to find words to discribe what they've done for me. Those men saved my life! When Charlie Chaplin stars the speech at the beginning of the show, it makes me believe that humanity is still possible saving. Rumi's poem made me believe in life again, made me realize this unique gift that we have, and everything that comes is for our own growth. Now I'm so greatful for being alive! When I finished the show, I was feeling fresh, like I had another chance. Coldplay saves lifes!

I'm really happy that he's happy. You hear a lot about celebrities who hate being famous, or can't handle it, but Chris is probably one of the best celebrities out there because he uses his platform to change the world, and you can see how grateful he is for everything that's happened to him.

I met Chris one night in LA, he gave me his last love button. I later that night went on to play a show and gave it to a person that asked about it. I still miss that love button but im really glad I got to share that love button experience. Thanks!

Sometimes Ryan can be a jerk and try and sneak in something personal about the person he's interviewing, like here with Chris and Gwyneth, I mean I understand he does it because he wants to get the scoop and people wanna know blah blah, but I just loved how sweet and kind and just thoughtful Chris was in this interview. He was just so sweet and so nice its nice to see that someone so successful in the music industry hasn't allowed fame and money to change who they are.
