This is hands down my favorite “so bad it’s actually good” movie of all time lol. Obviously Samuel L. Jackson’s death is iconic, but LL Cool J with his bird and ridiculous dialogue and that scene where he’s trying to fight his way out of the damn oven? Absolutely amazing. Honorable mention to the most on-the-nose song of all time at the end there “deepest, bluest, my hat is like a sharks fin” in which he recounts the whole plot in great detail. And your reaction to the ending makes sense, the doctor was originally supposed to survive but test audiences hated her so much they ended up changing it 😂

This film is in my "Black Rapper that survived a horror movie" trinity and unfortunately it sits at the Number 3 with LL Cool J. Number 1 is Ice Cube surviving Anaconda with Jennifer Lopez and and number 2 is the absolute Wackiness of Busta Rhymes kicking the Shit out Michael Myers in H20.
A classic of the genre of there is one. 😆 If we're naming all-timers tho, 2010's _The Spirit_ may always have my vote. It's a superhero film noir, so packed with cliche and homage it maybe a spoof? It feels like it takes place in every decade of Americana and none of them, with characters, dialogue, and scenes to match. 😂 Idk if it's sublimely brilliant or had no idea what to do with itself. But I love it
Ahh yes, Deep Blue Sea. Not to be dramatic, but the impact this movie had on my childhood altered the trajectory of my life and shaped who I am as a person.

This movie will always remind me of my dad cause we rented it from Blockbuster when it first came out, I was 10. And my dad was dying laughing at the Shark eating Sam Jackson scene so bad he even had to rewind it. And it was rare I saw my dad laugh that hard haha

Such a great terrible movie! I saw this in the theater and you have to appreciate that this was at the height of Sam Jackson's heyday, so that twist was SO unexpected. Like, obviously the shark was gonna show up in that moment, but surely SLJ was going to do something badass and save the day. Nope!
