Wonderful video...I have every single book Jimmie wrote and I brought my Seasons book with me to a Simple Goods show and he autographed it for me.. .a wonderful treasure. What a loss in every way😢❤
Thank You for a Wonderful tribute to Jimmie and Dean. They were wonderful and kind folk who shared a love of old things and garden. What a gift they shared of themselves and I'm so thankful for them. I have a love of browns also :) and I'm sure they've inspired so many with all their wonderful creations and stitching.
Jimmy & Dean were such talented gentlemen. I first discovered them through their Season’s book, which is one of my favorites! I’ve made many of the crafts in their book over the years! ❤️ My decorating style is very primitive/early American and add seasonal touches. I especially love adding Americana & I too collect old parade flags! Thank you for this beautiful video & tribute to Jimmy!
I only found out about Jimmie and Dean when someone on FB mentioned their Seasons book. It looked like something I would like so I ordered it. It far exceeded my expectations. What a beautiful tribute to their gorgeous farm. I read the entire book sitting on my back deck on a beautiful Fall day. It sits on a table in my living room now, and looking at it, I just know I am going to sit down and read through it again. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
Thank you for sharing your friendship with Jimmie and Dean. I met them both at the Heart of Country show in Nashville many years ago. They signed their garden book for me. Nice conversation with both of them, such a tremendous loss. Really enjoy your videos 👍
I had to move to Louisiana almost 4 years ago to take care of my aging parents. I didn't realize Jimmie died. We used to chat when I would go to Beaver Creek. We also shared a few antique/thrift haunts and would see each other at those venues. I am exceedingly sad to hear of his passing. 68 is entirely too young to go. Thank you so very much for your lovely video. I only wish he were still at Beaver Creek so when I go visiting in VA I could see him. Truly an exceptional man.
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful video of Jimmy and Dean. I didn’t meet Jimmy but I met Dean. Nice guy sorry I never met Jimmy but there’s so many good memories of him.❤ I do have the book love it.❤ I enjoyed your stories. Please keep it coming. Thank you.❤
Thank you for sharing your special memories , thoughts and wonderful treasures from Jimmie and Dean. I didn’t know them but Seasons is such an inspiring and current book even today. How fun to have treasures in the book- looking forward to where’s the treasure as I pursue Seasons again. Great video.
You have done such a great video on Jimmy and Dean . I have their book and look at it a lot for ideas !!! I have a deer skin that was once his and I treasure this !!!! Both men were loved!!!!
I just found your channel. I have this book, bought it years ago . I live in Canada and bought a century home and collected primitive just because of this book
Seasons, was on my Christmas wish list! I did not receive it as a gift. So I was so glad to hear you were giving away copy. I WILL KEEP MY FINGERS CROSSED! I Love your channel ! I am always anxiously awaiting the next episode!
As soon as you mentioned their book a few videos back, I went searching google for it and ordered it! Probably one of the most beautiful decorating books I’ve ever seen! Thank you for sharing ❤️
This is so amazing…..I knew Jimmie and bought several things from him over the years….when he was at Beaver Creek Antiques and I sold from Antique Crossroads Mall in Hagerstown MD located next door. I always appreciated his talent for design and the kind of pieces he was drawn to - his displays would be the first place I headed when going in the shop. Thank you for sharing this information and the special things you bought from him. Sadly I never acquired one of his books….I’m sure they are treasures.
I just ordered the seasons book and the window box book too. I loved the beautiful hat box with the rose 🌹 on it. What a real treasure to have so many beautiful things to cherish from your friends. Thanks for sharing ❤
Saw my first photos of Jimmy and Dean's home in Country Living magazine I believe and loved it so much . I was lucky enough to purchase seasons on eBay. I loved the mittens colors and was excited to see you decorate your mantle. Loved the valentines video. We heard you Audrey just fine. Have the best day. My style now is primitive and always colonial. Stay cozy. ( Kimberley from Western N. Y.)
The first I heard of Jimmie and Dean when they did the HGtv special one Christmas. Showing Seven Gates Farm and their wonderful Christmas tour and gardens! I filmed it on VCR tapes!! I i bought their book and I treasure it!! I would see him with Jill Peterson in her magazine and enjoyed! I was broken hearted to hear when Dean died and now Jimmie is gone reunited in Heaven!! So happy to hear Seven Gates is being taken care of!! Thank you for sharing them with us!!And telling folks about Jimmie!
I really miss jimmie and Dean. They both have inspired me so much through the years. Jimmie invited me to his home shortly after Dean passed away and it will be a memory I will always hold dear and near to my heart. I often look at the pictures of his gardens and the two of us and it reminds me of a beautiful day. I absolutely love the brown homespuns and was lucky enough to end up with 5 little brown homespun aprons from Jimmies collection along with another homespun piece. Thank you for doing this video. 🤎🤎🤎
Seasons is a book I will always treasure. I had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy several years ago at The Simple Goods Show, what a humble sweet man. He and Dean changed the ‘country’ style in a way no one else has. Thank you for this video.
I'm so glad that you did a video to remember Jimmie. I first him at a friend's shop outside of Fairfield, PA. That was in the fall of 1989. Various crafters were invited to that PA shop named Whimseys. They set up outside, demonstrating their crafts. (The shop was formerly in Frederick MD.) My mom was demonstrating rug hooking that day. Jimmie's brother, Doug, was there, too. Doug was interested in learning how to hook so he could repair old rugs. I would run into Jimmie at shows, or while out in the area antiquing. Once I picked up a grungy turquoise-colored movable 3-towel bar and he was disappointed because he was going to pick it up. I inherited my love for primitives from my mom and dad, who started collecting in the late 1950's! The last time I saw Jimmy, I ran into him in Safeway in Middletown about a year after Dean had passed. We both went in to get supplies to make cookies for Christmas. He was on his way home from visiting his dad, who was in a nursing home. He hadn't been driving too long, because he didn't like to drive. Dean did the driving. But after Dean was gone, Jimmie had to do it. The two of us stood and talked for an hour. I surely do miss bumping into him when I'm out and about. He was a trendsetter, for sure. I have all of the books that he put out. I also have a few items that he made. I do cherish all of them and the memories. Thanks again for making this video. Jimmie was one of a kind, and he seems to have touched so many people's lives, whether through the antique mall, Dean and Jimmie's work with Mary Emmerling, Country Living Magazine, and the wonderful books they had published. If Jimmie knew today how loved he was, and what fond memories so many people have of him, he would be honored. ❤
Jimmy was just so incredible! I loved everything he did! He was such an inspiration to us all. He has been truly missed thank you for sharing all your items from him. It’s very generous to have a book give away in his honor
I loved meeting Jimmy at a show in Tenn. We were in Country Living together one Christmas. I found his style to be my favorite. I've kept every clipping from the first I saw his home in a magazine.
