yep, it can shortcut the interface to use 5 fingers prosthetics without the muscle fatigue that normally uses to do some chunky movements, also will help to use smart chairs and to interact with GUI, so people with disabilities will only need a chip in their heads to use computers, smartphones, even cars, after that people will get the phisical disability as an option to get enhanced prostetics, or at least ones that works as good as a normal body part, aaaand then we will get things like in cyberpunk 2077 or in deus ex mankind divided XD

More and more people use or think about using upgrades all around the world, but brain is a tricky part, not only in term of risks or complexity, but also in term of phylosophical questions. I personaly used a northsense devices for few years, basicaly adding a 6th sense making me able to know where is the north using an extremly simple tech (basicaly a digital compass that vibrate when facing notrh, fixed externaly on my chest using piercing similar to jewelry). It was sort of a personal experimental, "short term test" that ended up being kept for years now cause it greatly improved my sense of navigating, both outdoor in forest or unknown regions and in unknown cities. Was scout, i know how to find north using sky, sun, stars, even tree moss, but i can assuree you it's next level, and the brain adapt so quickly.
While i don't feel like ready (both in term of mindset and probably money costs lol) for brain implants, i'll probably go on the boat as soon as the tech became mature enough it that make me able to interface with things, read messages, interact with computer, phones, or even other persons (or robots).

hmm, good point, but to be totally fair tho, humanity might need to wait until gen delta, so around 100 years, (or gamma if we hurry up, and yes, we started counting generations in greek letters), before we start moving onto writing, and i mean it on a theorical level, such as studies, papers, experimentations. on a pratical level tho? damn, i could write a whole essay on why it would take us even longer to develop pratical uses for 2-way connections between brain and digital interfaces, but yk, AI is already doing great as of now, so yeah, maybe that worrying future might not be as far as i think, but yk, only time will tell

Seems like we need a more secure communication protocol than basic Bluetooth. I know it supports encryption, but if Neuralink is going to work, it's going to need a higher bandwidth and more secure protocol anyway, especially if they double or triple the connections to the brain. So, perhaps it's time for a protocol that fits the bill, and that would be extensible and secure enough to do the job for quite a while. Hearing loss is very socially isolating and has an association as a possible risk factor in the development of dementia. Sound, especially the sound of the human voice is so sophisticated and nuanced and can evoke emotions and hearing music involves the temporal, parietal and frontal lobes of the brain. So if you don’t use those parts of the brain so much, then, as they say: use the frontal / temporal / parietal lobes of the brain -or- or lose it (to dementia).
