Do I need to use a UV lamp with this resin? I have so many projects, bought this exactly resin, and it would be great to know how to use it properly to avoid waste.
Almost but not quite. A torch is instant and fast. A heat gun is slower and more effective for blowing or moving epoxy around if you need that. Hope that helps. Enjoy.
I'm making a cup holder holder for a truck that is about 12" x 4-1/2" out of Baltic birch. There are vertical surfaces. Would I have to put the project on its end and then on its back to create horizontal surfaces or would I be able to brush on the UVpoxy while some surfaces are vertical?
UVPoxy self-levels and cures to a high-gloss finish. If you prefer a satin or low-luster finish, you could sand with high grit paper to remove the gloss finish.
Based on how expensive this stuff is, she probably mixed up about $150 worth of epoxy, but only ended up with about $20 worth of epoxy on that cutting board

Hello Anna, no, UV lamps will not work for this product. The name UVPoxy means that it has a lot of UV inhibitors. Hope that helps.
Will a heat gun be as effective as the torch ? Thanks for your time.

Does it need sanding after it cures?

What about the dribbles hanging off the bottom edge?
Those can be scraped off after a couple hour or sanded off the next day.
