- So I was asked to do a 1440p benchmark video with full ray tracing.
Still dips down below 60 FPS in parts with Global illumination quality
FSR 2.0 on is a must and it looks better with it on.

Thank you for video. It's so playable even with global illumination on quality. Last question what CPU you've got? I want to pair this graphic card with Ryzen 5 5600x I Hope it won't bottlenecks.
I have a Ryzen 7 5800x3d. The ray tracing is heavy on the cpu though. But for alot of stuff the 5600x is pretty good. Not sure if upgrading to the 5800 3dx is worth it (from 5600x) unless you find it dirt cheap.
This processor is not enough for The Witcher 3 with ray tracing. You need to use an RTX 40 with frame generation.
@@user-zx4ql3dc7c Yea he can expect worse performance than me. Frame Generation would help alot in this game as its CPU intensive.
With FSR 2 the performance is good but without RTX and FSR 2 how many fps? More than 144 all time? I remember that my old rtx 2080 ti can play this 1440p ultra 180 fps 220 fps, but not Witcher 3 Next Gen, just old version, witcher 3 v1.31, today we have a power W gpus but bad optimization games
I am making a new video for you. They have two modes DX 12 and DX 11. I am testing both modes without Ray Tracing. DX 11 is faster.
The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt now has HBAO+ and a new mode Ultra+ mode where they enhanced the textures and its not the same comparison as version 1.31 but its pretty close.
I never ran DX 11 mode before so I will see how it goes. The video should be up by tomorrow morning.
@@campcreekdude1 I always play dx12 and HBAO+ off, also hairworks off, because the difference on vs of is insignificant for me and the difference of fps is -30 fps with hairworks and HBAO+ Ultra

Thanks, I've been playing the game with my "optimized" settings at 1440p and can experience the high refresh rate experience with AMD Frame Gen On. Basically "optimized" is just GI on performance and no shadow ray tracing. the rest to max. minus hairworks.
@@campcreekdude1 Glad to hear that! Enjoy. I was curious how the 7900XT performs in this game with ray tracing so searched for this video. Performs a lot better than expected. I recently got a 4070 Super and have been really enjoying The Witcher 3 with ray tracing. :)
@@kraithaywire It was nice to see that Super product getting the same price as the original 4070. My nephew has the 4070 and its power efficient.
It's pitty for AMD that 4070 for 540$ has 80-90fps at the same places with Frame Generation and the same settings in DLSS Quality. Frame generation works really fine and I can't notice any delay
