Just going to say this before 2 million people point it out: I know the person who originally designed gnarpy was a horrible human being, and I find it dumb and slightly greedy the devs decided to just redesign the character instead of remove it entirely
i hate everything about gnarpy, the redesign isnt better than the original design, but it isnt worse. gnarpy is so mean. gnarpy is just so annoying. why do people like gnarpy?
note: its ok to like gnarpy i just dont like xyr. sorry if it sounded like that.
@@Rocky-Mein I’d say the most common reason is because xer an alien cat and people like things like that. And also, people mostly don’t make xem rude in animations/au’s and just make xem nice. It’s okay for people to like a character or think of them differently. As long as it’s not hurting anyone.

Tbh, this game *"regretavator"* has the best lgbt representation so far which why it is one of the reasons that it became one of my favorite roblox games to play so far, Aside from that it has funny minigames and unique references from the internet. When lgbt is ever mentioned in some roblox games they usually used for straight up cash grab and panderism for money whenever june is over they js removed pride in their games usually like every companies fr.

A thing the devs have been doing is revamping older levels by adding objectives or more stuff to explore, originally the maze didn't even have an objective so all you could do was awkwardly walking around lol

as someone who's been playing the game for a year now, i 100% agree on your opinion on the community! they are either spawns of hell or the sweetest people ever.. but without a doubt the discord server IS infact unhinged and downright chaotic. i dont blame the admin and mods for avoiding the fandom tbh. :T but it's really cool to see a honest review of the game! the review was very fair to say the least, and spoke about issues no one else really talks about. very cool vid!! :DDD
I got into the Regretevator game about a week or so ago, despite knowing about it for a long time. At first when i heard about the game, i hated it. Ironically enough, i still dont like it, mostly for the community which i dont really want to interact with. Watching this video felt so satisfying knowing we share most opinions about the game, and the part where you said about the game "trying way too hard to be silly, goofy and quirky" felt so real since that was my initial thought about the game aswell! Another interesting thing i learned while watching, is that Gregoriah is voiced by MarxBarks, someone i used to interact with/talk to sometimes in an older community i used to be part of! This information blew my mind. I really enjoyed watching this video. The animations, jokes and overall editing was on spot. Amazing work!

As a regretevator fan, the sheer amount of people in regretevator that are just open to weird comments is so jarring to me. Heck, in game, a dude asked if I wanted to make out or some crap, told him I wa a minor, and still kept pushing. Blocked him, continued playing the gmae, but at the same time im concerned with rhe number of creeps there.
Honestly the amount of people I’ve met on Roblox who say disgusting things to me is shocking

As a Regretevator fan that’s been apart of the community for many, *many* months now, I’ve definitely seen the good and bad sides of the community.
I’m not too active with it as I used to be due to just lack of interest in interacting with random people on the internet, specifically discord, but I’ve seen some pretty bad stuff like nsfw, and just some disturbing and gross things in general.
I cannot believe that the community responded to John Roblox being a voice actor in such backlash, and accusing him of being a transphobe for.. whatever that was, is just crazy. I had no idea this all happened until you brung it up.
Although the community can be bad, I absolutely love the game, and animating the characters is really fun.
I don’t even know what the point of this comment is anymore I just wanted to share my thoughts.

i was a regretevator fan right before it got super popular, and istg i left that fandom so quick. i am just so fed up with the community. the hate toward "newgen" fans is in almost every fandom (vocaloid mainly), but it is just SO bad in regretevator. also random thing they use the word "silly" a lot and sometimes it just gets on my nerves.. it reminds me too much of 2017 kawaii potatoes and smol beans

Great review. As a new regretevator fan (about 2 months), I can absolutely agree with the fandom being really rough, especially involving ships. Personally, I have my questions on certain ships, like how im mixed about partybeetle, but I won't bitch about it like THAT part of the community. I agree that the game gets stale at times, but they have been making improvements to already existing floors alongside adding more, which is great! The character redesigns are worrying me, though. Overall, Regretevator has gotten me back into roblox and is a great game with a toxic (there are some cool ppl in it. The artists and such are great) community. Absolutely fantastic video and review!

Ok, at first: I kinda hated this since I liked regretevator a lot. I never really saw the bad side of it and only left because I moved on to something else. Now watching this more throughly though, I agree with everything you said.

I feel like the best part of the game is having friends to play it with. As long as you have someone to chat to, the game becomes a lot more chaotic and fun. You can also set missions with your friend like having the most npcs in the elevator (8) or you could also play around with all the OP shop items (like the dart foamer or the banana peel which is MY FAVORITE). As long as you have an idea on what to do in the game, it doesn't feel all too replayable.

That one bit where you said Regretevator is "trying way too hard to be silly, goofy and quirky" hits the nail on the head as somebody who's played the game for about a few months now and with 1,000+ floors.
Too many times have I felt that the game is using RNG and procedural generation as a crutch rather than a fun supplemental game mechanic. For me, it ruins floors like Random Maze (the rats can go any direction with no rhyme or reason) and Rock Park ([one of] the rocks can body slam you out of nowhere, and with little indication or consistency. Sometimes, you can run right into them and not get killed immediately and vice versa.)
And there are the floors that you swear were designed with the explicit purpose of pissing people off. HALL OF and Fun Flood at Squishy's come to mind. Those floors also make extensive use of the aforementioned mechanics, all of this can be really discouraging for new players (especially considering there's an influx of newbies going on rn).
And don't forget those times when the elevator stops on a shop floor and you bought something that can be useful like the Gas Mask or the BOGGLE JETFUEL only for the elevator to then stop at one of the aforementioned floors next and you inevitably die. It's really demoralizing to find the things you want only to feel like you wasted 100+ coins for stuff you never got the chance to use because the almighty RNG gods weren't in your favor.
The only enjoyment I can really have with the game is with a really good server or with friends. Finding a tolerable server is scarce though, because most of the time the entire server is full of mutes and/or people who just started the game five seconds ago.

My time to rant about the game !
You explained pretty much everything perfectly and even helped me better understand the devs thoughts (even if i still dislike it, and even more than before)
For me, i joined regretevator around when Gnarpy blew in popularity(something to remember), and so i played it and enjoyed it, i loved its nostlagic vibe of the normal elevator and perfect incorporation of newer tech, a dream come true...Until the controversy...Since then, it all went down hill...
What is the controversy you ask ? Well shrimply put :
AFRM, the creator behind Gnarpy, was outed as a groomer and zoo, and so after he got quickly thrown under the bus, the devs decided to something very fucking stupid...redesign Gnarpy, and they did even more insane shit like revealing the redesign through ms paint in a casual "yeah its nothing dw" ! The community was rightfully against this idea, but the redesign dropped...and to this day, this remains the BIGGEST cause of the community hostility, and the reason i quitted playing the game as i couldnt stand having the character that got me in the game defaced like that and play like nothing happened.
(also i will NOT talk about the AFRM drama more as it is another rabbithole and to put it simply, he got slandered hard with false claims including the grooming and zoo accusations).
I dont understand why they did Gnarpy this fucking dirty, like what in the actual fuck happened here ? The design is shit and doesnt belong in the game, compare it to the others (pre-folly), the others design clearly shows that, you are in the good era of Roblox,no over the top shady and greedy company, no investors or rthro/metaverse shit, just pure fun...But they made Gnarpy an rthro, and to this day, Gnarpy is now both praised and hated for this and thanks to the devs not wanting to deal with the community (that also i want to make clear, they actively LET this behavior grow. They are just getting the return now with also the Miché situation being a perfect exemple of the growing rot inside the community), it just makes stuff worst and worst, now i hope that regretevator bites the dust...To maybe rise again.
I don’t play regretavator well only when my friends play sometimes but like wow this is such a great review and it was pretty funny! You should review Item Asylum and a few of the devs work on regretavator too!
I just started getting into Regretavator and when I found out about how messed up the fandom can be. (I’m Multifandom and so I’ve been there before) I was like: “another day, another community on my blacklist”

As a Regretevator fan, I absolutely agree that the discord and community is just ehhhhh not that great in general, I honestly have a love and hate relationship with Regretevator. Also Buck is just awesome sauce.
