I think people overestimating difference between maelstrom destro and 2 hand backbar, ots very minor and obviously staff vastly superior for AOE, specially with destro ulti, sometimes masters bow is best, it depends

Great video and you're absolutely right. Have fun. I think we all forget that some times and get into the weeds. Good wake up call. Thanks :)

As a fellow magic-inclined player, I think what they are getting at is that we want to be able to do the hard content, like a vet trial but play as that mage character rather than carrying around blades all the time. I get that you have more range for the staff, but if there was something to even the odds a bit so you could still do the hard stuff with the character playstyle that you like, that would be cool. For now I just run magicka until I get into the hard stuff, then I bring the ever-dominant stam build which I honestly don’t enjoy playing as much.

8:00 very true, these RUclipsrs got very optimized nerdy builds, if you are new I’d definitely try to hit your own dps milestones or something. I used to think my 18k crits were high until I started getting 50k crits lmao

I wish more people would stop worrying about the meta and just have fun. As you mention, virtually no content in the game requires an optimized build. Like, if you're struggling to get a trifecta in some vet content, sure, maybe you need to min/max a bit, but 30k DPS is sufficient for everything outside of Vet Trials and DLC Dungeons. Hell, half the content doesn't even require a tank or healer and I'm pretty sure I watched @Deltiasgaming get Flawless Conqueror in VMA with a one button build a couple years ago. Great video as always! This is a topic I've been planning to touch on as well.

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
That’s exactly what I’m saying! META just means it’s the most effective known, but not necessarily for all players and it also doesn’t mean that it’s the only option. Lots of different ways to complete the same content. Pick one that’s fun and tear it up! Cheers brother!

I like how you say just have fun. I see people post in guild chat wanting help to grind skyreach or brp and they are a new player I tell them nicely to slow down and enjoy the game. They will have time to grind when they get to cp

The game itself should explain how the game is played before people can have fun experimenting.
I had a situation where I was helping someone I was in a guild with wanted to quit the game because of a dungeon experience. They said that they were healing when their dps was running a resto/bare-handed combo. Nothing ever died since along with that the other dps was hiding and sneak attacking each Add.
I wish they could have laughed with me but I wish the game gave people more guidance before the community was necessary.
Additionally, I realized that some people’s fun is very different from the experienced player. The game is not helpful to the New from jump.
You’re not wrong though but layer of Introduction has not been implemented in a way that acknowledges the ten years of advancing gameplay and systems.

Oh 100%. New players absolutely struggle with a fundamental understanding of how combat works in ESOO (HOW to build, combat rotations, buffs/debuffs, etc.). You definitely need a foundation for that stuff to further develop a build and the game needs to improve in its introduction to those things 100%. Most people never enter the help menu at all

P.S.: I am never trusting speech-to-text to do my work for me again. 😒 Apologies for grammar.

Destro staff is easier for most players. If you build for magicka you want to use heavy attack to get magicka back and it's also much easier to play at a bit of a distance to the enemy so you don't get caught by his melee attacks and AOEs around him. Only world record chasers and score pushers care about optimal race/class/weapon.. And that changes from patch to patch. I've never bothered with it and never will. I want to like my characters and have them play the way I want them to play.

I have been around a long time, and I will tell you why people feel this way.
Because Gate Keeping has happens in all MMOS. You invest a ton of time into a game. When you had communities tell you, hey when you group with me. You need to be your best, it is disrespectful for you to do group content, and not have the strongest build you can do, you are wasting my time.
So it started out with end game content, and that logic moved to even basic content that requires group play.
In truth eso combat is worse part of it, but I can also understand why players feel the way they do because the mmo community has got older, and time has more value. So they trash anyone that does not have a good build.

Love you videos bro! Thank you for these.
As a new to ESO player (6 months in) and also new to MMOs in general. I can say that without a couple of friends in discord to help me learn how to craft, get around the map, get practical necessary add ons and learn the basics,, I would have quit 3 days in. It was almost too much to handle.
Now here I am several months in and I am cp1200 and am leading most of the pug dungeons that I do each day. Im glad I stayed with it.
Im still learning vet mechanics and need to try a few more trials.
I agree it started being more fun once I stopped caring about my dummy numbers.
    It’s fun to have fun.
    Thanks again Cooper
