Medical Secrets of Ancient Egypt
Ancient Egypt, the cradle of civilization, hides within it treasures of knowledge and practices that have defied the ages. Among these treasures, Egyptian medicine stands out for its unique fusion of magic and science. The ancient Egyptians saw the human body as a microcosm of the universe, where each organ, each function, was intrinsically linked to divine and natural forces.
Early medical writings, such as the Ebers Papyrus and the Edwin Smith Papyrus, reveal a surprisingly advanced understanding of anatomy, disease, and treatment. These documents, more than 3,000 years old, detail surgical procedures, herbal remedies and incantations aimed at healing the mind as well as the body.
The priest-doctors, trained in the Houses of Life attached to the temples, played a crucial role in Egyptian society, combining medical knowledge and religious rituals to treat the sick.
Ancient Egypt left behind an impressive medical legacy. Egyptian doctors excelled in several fields: surgery, gynecology, obstetrics, and even veterinary medicine. They performed trepanations, treated fractures and used advanced suturing techniques.
Their knowledge of pharmacology was also remarkable, with remedies composed of more than 700 natural substances, including plants, minerals and animal products.
However, Egyptian medicine was not limited to empirical science. It was steeped in magical and religious rituals. Incantatory formulas, amulets and talismans played an essential role in the healing process. The Egyptians believed that words had immense power and that incantations could influence divine forces to restore health.
The Edwin Smith Papyrus, for example, is a treatise on trauma surgery that shows a methodical and rational approach to injuries, with detailed descriptions of symptoms and treatments. On the other hand, the Ebers papyrus, one of the longest and most complete, combines medicinal recipes and magical formulas, perfectly illustrating this duality between science and belief.
The temples of Sekhmet, the goddess of healing and epidemics, were medical centers where doctor-priests, or “Sunu,” combined medical practices and sacred rituals to treat the sick. These priests believed that illnesses were often caused by supernatural forces and used amulets, incantations, and purification rituals to combat them.
The medical techniques of the Egyptians profoundly influenced later civilizations, including Greece and Rome. The writings of Hippocrates, generally considered the father of medicine, show clear traces of Egyptian influence, particularly in the emphasis placed on clinical observation and systematic documentation of medical cases.
The Egyptians' medical advances were not limited to curing diseases. Their extensive knowledge of human anatomy is also reflected in their burial practices and embalming techniques.
Mummification, which aimed to preserve the body for eternity, required a precise understanding of anatomy and decomposition processes. Embalmers carefully removed internal organs, treated the body with natrons (a mixture of natural salts), and used oils and resins to slow decomposition and prepare the deceased for the afterlife.
Descriptions of surgical procedures in the Edwin Smith Papyrus show a methodical and rational approach to injuries, including techniques for reducing fractures, treatments for dislocations, and procedures for suturing wounds. These techniques, although rudimentary by modern standards, demonstrate an advanced knowledge of surgical practice for the time.
In addition to their surgical skills, Egyptian doctors had a complex understanding of internal diseases and pharmacological treatments. They used a variety of medicinal plants, some of which are still used today.

Merci beaucoup pour cet exposé très intéressant . Pour moi , la clé d'Ankh favorise la connexion à l'au delà et elle a une signification bien précise . On la voit associée à la diode dans votre documentaire mais aussi au triangle ( pyramide ) .

Très belle découverte que je viens de faire depuis peu avec vous. Magnifique vidéos de découvertes et de " vérités " qu'il faut réactualiser. Décidément lorsque nous sommes sur le bon chemin, les bonnes découvertes se suivent lorsqu'il est l'heure de faire un pas de plus. Dans la vidéo : La Création ou la Ré-création de l'Homme vous avez cité Nietzsche : Comme l'a dit le philosophe Nietzsche : " Celui qui a un pourquoi pour vivre, peut presque supporter n'importe quel comment ! Les médecins de l'Égypte antique avaient une science similaire au Druides, du moins sur certains points. Bien à vous
SVP donnez le nom exacte de ce papirusse par exemple lieu de sa decouverte et date et dynastie de sa redaction et par qui ? ,Edwin Smith n'a pas existe a cette epoque ,il se fait une publicité gratuite sur le dos des anciens egyptiens
