Nelson, I love that you are playing without recording or streaming as you seem to do so much better and you’re over 2400! Congratulations and thanks for sharing this game with us.
Happy for you Nelson. You deserve these moments for providing us with the knowledge to pull our version of them off at beginner/intermediate level. Well Done!

@@iron2322 no if knight goes to f7 bishop takes knight then we can take rook and if king takes knight then rook to f8 is checkmate? So he can't take the knight
@@luckymart893 The thing is the knight is trapped, the opponent can win it sooner or later (for example after pushing the pawn to avoid backrank checkmate first)
Dear Nelson, just to let you know. You are not only my best and favorite chess teacher. You are my best English language teacher. Your diction is excellent. Thank you!!!
Nelson I’m down for a playlist of videos of just you and your cool checkmates. So fun! Just from watching your lives I know you could make one video a week of cool checkmates. Or even last minute checkmates.
I've been flowing your channel for over a year and this is the first time you passed 2400 in rapid, and I've been waiting for a celebration or something haha congrats nelson
I think - at least at the start - the board sounds are all duplicated, sounding like an 100ms echo where the echo is the same volume of the first copy? Possibly you record with multiple views of the same board, one for the cast and one for your control, and they both have sound enabled?
Opponent must have been kicking themselves after not only throwing what was a likely winning endgame but just getting smothered into this wild checkmate.
Hi. Interesting and entertaining! At around 5:35 why did you check with RDE1 rather than RFE1? Did you want an unattackable rook as an anchor for the attacking rook ("Let's keep the rooks on the board")?
I've actually been in a similar situation Nelsi. Since then I avoid walking a Rook or a King into tight spaces especially when there's a Knight there. I think most people have a blind spot for Knight Forks because there are also ones that emerge a move or two later (incl. ones with a sacrifice) and the fork geometry is such that its difficult to see all of them unless one specifically calculates possible forks for next 2 moves. Did you see that game where Hikaru was in the middle of a King-Rook fork and he tried to save the Rook and ended up walking into another one this time losing his Queen? If Hikaru can fall for it... LoL Thats why I wonder when experts say Bishops are a little better than Knights because they control more squares. Dont you think Knights are more valuable in the middle game with tight spaces and sacrifice setups? Sometimes because of the positioning, even in the endgame.
"Thats why I wonder when experts say Bishops are a little better than Knights because": Actually, they say this in OPEN positions, and in closed positions the knights are better.
That is an insane and awkward looking checkmate but that's happened to me too where I've been too aggressive with my king and wasn't aware how close I was to being in a mating net and got mated, not in as spectacular way but where there were pawns and one piece involved, I think it was a rook in my case.
I would have used the same pawn for mate and not the knight just coz it's cool and a bit of show off too ...congrats on the win enjoy it brother you deserve it.
Nelson should have lost if the opponent moved the king to "king of the hill". In fact this game shown the importance for keeping the king at center files. Once you survived the attack and traded pieces, then you will reach a must win position. I always keep the king at center and not to castle king.
If they move the king to "king of the hill", it's an opportunity to counter with the Dale Gribble gambit. I've also found success using the Arlen defense.
I saw one of your videos the other day when you said to put the pawns on the same colour as the bishop if they only have one. Now you say that's not a good idea? Maybe you mean it's not a good Idea when going into an end game, but it's good to do in the early game,??

With so few pieces on the board, he would’ve been thinking his king was relatively safe. And then suddenly this!! Very nice checkmate!
@9:30 lol " to be honest, that's the only one I saw" 😂 I love it, his honesty is refreshing and hilarious

Interesting fact.
That was Nelson's 999'th Rapid game of all time!
Can't wait to see what the 1000'th brings! 😊
I highly doubt he only played 999 rapid games!
@@Poney01234 On that account, sure, but not overall I agree since he has multiple accounts and also probably have played on other website before
You look like a happy ole lad in that thumbnail Nelson. Congratulations 🤝
Maybe the reason why we don't see this in the world championship is, that they know how to prevent these variations.

checkmate with the pawn and ignoring the free bishop(=checkmate with the knight), was so much cooler.
The end looks a bit like the result of a study... great fun to watch anyway :)
That was a pretty amazing mating net, indeed! Thanks for sharing, Nelson =)

Wanted to keep the f1 rook so if his king went to f file behind bishop I could move my knight to e5/g5 and have his bishop pinned.
Check mate qith pawn is always the way to go! That is just beautiful! Good show!
Because....Well thats the only one I saw....LOL

Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Great job! I really enjoyed that one.
At the point you took the pawn with the queen then traded queens. Their was also bishop to b5 and pin their queen
which can be broken easily by ... c6. (If there had been a rook on d1, it would have worked.)

Nice one Master Nelson!!
Fantastic
Wild game and awesome checkmate, GG
I love how chaotic this game was. 😂
Part of it is because of the (relatively) low time limit.
Who ever thought that Pawn could help you win a game of Chess! 😅
Took me longer than I'd like to admit to find the penultimate move.
What happens if they sac the bishop a move earlier? has anyone looked into that, i cant tell how to checkmate then
Wowza
👍👍👍 happy thanksgiving.
Don't you hate that when you have incredible games off stream eh?
