Congratulations, winning ANY event where your playing against people you can't be sure what they will bring is a huge accomplishment. Hope you knock off a GT next!
Looking at the new detachment rules for guard, I think armoured sentinels are a good choice for a frontline distraction threat. They have lethal hits against everything, essentially twin linked on their guns against heavy targets and they can use tank shock with their T8 for a cheeky charge.
% of the Guard community called us dead in the water, 20% 30% winrate. Those people drop the faction (lower player count)AND THE WINRATE INCREASES. Can we just admit that the Guard community dont know how to play the faction well. Im sorry but its just what it is. WR was sub 50, low 40s, ONE mad lad, against all odds, says Guard is good and wins a super major. A bunch of ppl copy his list and the winrate increases for a few weeks. That exact list gets a 200pt nerf and the winrate promptly goes back to where its at. Cmon guys
I'd argue that it depends on your play style, a mass infantry & artillery list like lore accurate krieg? That's not gonna be doing so well Triple Dorn? Doing *really* well Or if your the poor sob running imperial navy and having a list made of flyers. 0% win rate for you
My list I went 4-1 with at a super major is unchanged, and I now think it's even better. Entered another super major in a couple weeks as soon as the rules drop happened. The secret is limited artillery and no solar.
Lol and I tried to bring the guard down after going 1-2 day one so I went to just play for fun day two and lost both games cause I didn't really try. It would have helped if I remembered my armored Sentinels rule lol
Havent watched the full thing yet but at first glance... am I missing something? Some of these numbers don't add up- space marine players: 34, but breakdown count is 37? Black Templars count 16 but breakdown count is 18? Black Templars wins 31 but breakdown is 35? Black Templars games played 81 but breakdown is 91?
"If the Imperial Guard were to disappear..." Bro...the Imperium would crumble so fast without the Astra Militarum and Imperial Navy it isn’t even funny. It's the classic Special Forces/SAS/Delta Force vs line Infantry question, are the SOCOM forces highly trained, incredibly well funded/equipped experts who should be used as a scalpel in situations requiring that sort of investment? Yes, yes they are...but if you think you can fight/win a war without the every-man with a rifle, your nuts
Thank you, based comment, tired of old born soldiers, Guard players got complacent and were ok spamming artillery because it worked well with old born soldiers. Now it doesn't
I won my local RTT, 3-0. HYPE
What was your list?

Winning a tournament with null maiden is crazy fucking work

Artillery as a tool not as main DMG source is based. Also no Solar gives more room for stuff. Only things that NEED him are Baneblade builds.

The day is ours but the cost was high. Hundreds commented, thousands liked. I have the numbers if you wish?
The chap who won with the Guard is Matt, from Ambrosden club. @acrossthetabletop
Any idea what the lists were?
Mordian's Green Tide army are still stuck in his bits box...F
They almost made it out! Almost...
GW: We nerfed Guard artillery again.
Community: Calm.
GW: The Guard now have a functioning Detachment rule.

Ok
not supprised tbh guard are now insensitived to play the game and not camp in the backfield
Were you not incentivised to throw endless bodies at the enemy with reinforcements sir? You shame us sir, you disgrace us sir! 😂
@@richardseaton6390 nah artillery is so boring to play ah yes I will play 1/4th of my points for models which will not move
