I cant stop listening to this modern Soul on Big Crown Records I've bought the Thee Marloes album. I'm knocked out by how good this Album is on my hit list too. I love Soul music from the 60's. I'm 73 and its so cool to see that its still out there. I've amassed a huge collection ftom Motown Stax and Atlantic soul music since I was 14 years old. I've got so msny rare records and Its never been bettered and then the RUclips Algorithims introduced me to to Big Crown Records and they know because I've saved over 800 soul one hit wonders in my RUclips page. Soul Music is one of thr best Genres to listen to and Big Crown Records is a rare gem to see. I mean Thee Marlies are from Indonesia and this band are Norwegian. You wouldn't know it without checking. People called it Northern Soul with the birth of Wigan Casino in the 70's keeping old 60's soul alive but my 1st ever soul record was The Entertainer by Tony Clarke on the Chess Label back in 1965 and its still a cool record. Expand your minds everybody and dig deep into the 60's and you can see why Albums like this have their roots way back in time. I used to tell my mother at the age of 16 I was staying at my grandmothers house on a friday night when I was actually Dancing at the famous Twisted Wheel night club in Manchester UK which is my hometown. I've watched the Four Tops and the Temptations perform there and so many others. The price to get in the All nighter wouldnt even buyva loaf of bread in todays economic downturn. I feel lucky to have had a great life through music .
When Norway produces artists of note they really are artists with a big capital A. Beautiful vibes throughout... easy to see why BCR signed them. Truly a band that deserve to crossover into the mainstream. Les Imprimes are another example of the renaissance of real soul that has been steadily growing over the past half decade. Musicality gaining prominence is a natural reaction to the cookie cutter crap the major labels have been spoon feeding the public. Thank God for Big Crown, Colemine and Daptone Records, independents that are a natural home for organic artists.
