I'm so glad you loved it ! It seems like a lot of people didn't like IG especially because of Darrow while, like you, I love Darrow more now that he struggles more and is more complex. I wasn't sure about Ephraim in the beginning but in the end I loved his humour so much that I couldn't not love him !
I do think the Red Rising series is pretty weak in world building, although Dark Age & Lightbringer do add a bit more cool stuff to the world. Red Rising is more of a fun,action packed and concise series than it is a Dune or Hyperion. I enjoy the characters and plot alot, even if its nothing all that unique. It's almost a little bit like blockbuster action movie or an anime series that flirts with philosophical elements
Yasss pleeeaase do a Top 10 Sci-Fi and a Top 10 Fantasy book series of all time. I used to be a huge sci-fi/fantasy nerd before literary fiction took over my life and I'd be fascinated to hear your take on both of those :) thank you in advance lol
