that hum is so simple, but without it the song would feel incomplete.
i love this song and this group. it's really hard to explain the feelings i get whilst listening to this.
Still as good 6 years later, but they still don't follow the lead once the orchestra starts at around 4 xd you can see the guy showing the right rythm but they don't really follow on point. Doesn't take away the beauty of it thankfuly.

I love this song!
Although, the singer has obviously never had lessons, he wouldn't have difficulty hitting the notes right away if he opened his jaw wider and used proper singing vowels.
But this does not nulilfy the fact that is this a great song, a great quality video, and an amazing performance.

This band is so underrated it's ridiculous. I heard about them by accident. I happened to stumble across them when watching the *2nd largest aquarium* video and I've been hooked ever since. No Pun Intended, lol.

i first heard this song (along with everybody else) playing with the aquarium video. i must have replayed the video 10 times that day, then bought the songs off itunes and listened to that non stop for the last 2 years. watching this video brought back the same exact emotion i had when i listened to it for the very first time. amazing.

I only really listen to this song once a year around the time of my girlfriend's passing. 8 Years later... It. Fucking. Tears. My. Heart. Out.
Of course I'd heard this song before. Geeze people all I was saying was that despite the song being slow, the tempo was dragging, it happens ALL THE TIME in not just ensembles and not just with this band. People rush when music is fast, and drag when its slow it's a musical danger. It doesn't happen during the whole song but it is audible.
i first heard this song last year and since then, i swear, i havent gone a day without listening to it. easily my favourite song in the world. and bloody hell its even more amazing live. the singer is so talented and the choir adds such a beautiful touch. and also i always wanted to know what the simple hum was and now i know. who knew that a single note throughout a song could add such texture and make it so much more beautiful. GOD DAMMIT I LOVE THIS SONG.

Love this song...but Live...the guitar guy is overpowering all the other instruments.
@kkuiper the singer has the main melody of course hes part of the ensemble and has a huge impact on the song. The conductor is setting the tempo but the singer sounds like hes having a hard time trying to stay in time; the conductor is slowing down for him and the singer compensates by slowing down more? hes just not keeping up it hard to explain.
@princessyrandom1214 I was following all the way up until you said the singer is dragging the tempo. How would the singer have an impact on the tempo? The conductor or piano in this song would be setting it. anyways this song is awesome, that is all.
@mikieson its to keep everyone playing at the same tempo. some people get the sudden urge to go faster or slower without meaning to which could potentially cause the group to fall apart. So by frequently looking up at the conductor you ensure that you all go at the same speed. Its also done to tell a certain section to play louder or back off. Or que the exact moment in which to come in.
Its obvious that this singer isnt used to having a live orchestra because he is dragging the tempo.

omg listen here bitches I've seen the band live twice and I love them. My original intent was two say that this particular live version drags even more than that of the cd and the tempo is not constant and it rather bugged me at the time.
Ive always wondered why bands and orchestras need a conductor if they already know the music by heart? Very serious question..OH and I love the song.

@mikieson I guess that the conductor acts as a drummer by keeping everyone at the same tempo and also working as a mixer telling some to player higher or lower etc.
Im no pro so I dont really know more then u, but thats my guess. ^^
