Thank you for your tutorial, I began learning how to crotchet 2 days ago and then watched this video and it was the EASIEST to follow out of all of the hat tutorials!! Thanks--I feel so much more confident now :)
I've been hooking for over 30 years, and this is the first time I've felt bad for a newcomer to fiber arts concerning a tutorial. Having to go back to your channel to watch for parts that should be in this tutorial is not fair to a newb.
I like this tutorial. I would say not for total beginners but if you know basics of crochet it works up quickly. The hat is cute. Next time I will make it 6 inches bc it was a little short. I do wish the way to do the ribbing wasnt another link but in general this tutorial made a cute hat. Its customizable once you get the basics.
Disagree! Didn't know how to "slip" or "double", or rib AT ALL at the start of this video. I've now completed a hat... so its possible!! Just got to pay attention and rewatch, rewatch, rewatch, restitch! Takes time :)
HI! I just wanted to say thank you!!! It's so cute! It took me two days to complete it! I'm so proud!!! Can't wait to try other beanies next and work on sweaters too❤
As an advanced crocheter I would HIGHLH suggest simplifying this. It was unnecessarily complicated. The double crochet at the beginning of round one could’ve simply been just a regular ch 2.
i think the modified dc with foundation chains was to help keep the edges even. i find that it works best for me but you can always modify the pattern to your strengths
I’m choosing which tutorial to use based on the comments section and it looks like this one’s a winner! Such great feedback from what I’ve read 👍 Wish me luck 🤞
Ok. Please clarify for us all it would make it easier to understand: when turning majority of the ear corners, we only use the special stitch and markered areas on one side of beanie, right? And advice: more pics full photos of layout as you progress helps A LOT. most tutorials don’t show that.
Thank you for this tutorial! It was awesome! Some how tho.. I never got a chance to figure out how to do the ribbing haha! @CherilynQ 😮 I never noticed that either. Apparently, I am blind. I guess I have been too busy frogging it, because I keep skipping a chain, and end up with a noticeable gap. One day, I will be rocking this hat... one day.

Hi!! I'm glad you liked it! and I appreciate you trying to understand what went wrong. As to your question, I know you said you made sure to only add and connect in same row, but I can't think of any other reason except for that 😭 Maybe you can double-check: count your stitch number of the last round and your ribbing row count, and see if they match. If they don't, then you've added extra rows by accident. Let me know if they do though, cuz it doesn't make sense 😞
