This dude right here's the best Lancer Fixer on the tube,, Iv'e had my Oz rally for 4 yrs now and have always come back to your channel for support,, here every owner Iv'e come across has had this same issue with the control stems breaking eventually,, seems to be air bubble pockets when casting the molds,, typical problem with these applications. Ether way thanks Mackey for the extremely helpful and insightful videos you bring to the lancer community :]

Dude thank you SO MUCH my dealership tried to charge me $1600 for this exact job, and my local garages would either not do the repair or they were charging an equally ludicrous price.

You just saved me a ton of effort and possibly cost if I had to take this to a mechanic. My knob was jamming and this video showed me where the gears were and it was a 20 second fix. Thank you.

I also have a problem with my Evo 8 heater control knob. There is a kink in the cable which prevents it from moving the gears so I have to reach under there to change it from hot to cold and back. I've had the replacement cable for like 2 years now and havent tried to install it because I had no idea how.. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle! Thanks.

I still had too much heater control knob resistance and have to revert to maneuvering the gears by hand. I bolted an 8" long steel bar (3/4" wide by 1/8" thick) to the rearward gear so I can easily reach down while driving to adjust the temperature. Bend the bar towards the tunnel to keep it out of the way of your throttle foot.
