I was kind of aware Lennon had been in a WWII movie but I never saw any footage from it until now. Seems like it's alot of fun, also all the vehicles/equipment/weapons look surprisingly accurate for a low budget screwball comedy movie.
Military surplus from the war was still relatively cheap and easy to get back in '67, and there were still a lot of veterans about so accuracy was easier to achieve.
It's easy to forget relativity. The war ended just 22 years prior to the film's release.
