    Blessings Dana. I've been looking for an explanation of the blue button below the slider when we are working on a channel on a mix bus. They show up around 23:55 when you are talking about IEM mix. Appreciate any light you can shed on this. Oh, and thanks for the all the help you provide with your videos.

      That is the "Power Button". If you turn it off by clicking it, then you can not add that channel or input to your monitors. It does not hurt anything by leaving them on.

    Dana, your video cleared up a whole lot, thanks much for taking the time to make and post this! It is more helpful than all the other videos I have saved combined, that is no exaggeration. I am going to search for other videos that you may have posted, I want to better understand how to set up in-ear monitors for band members....I will mess around with the board to see if I can customize what I hear through the normal headphone jack using the technique that you taught and that might help me figure that out. And routing....still messes with my mind but the part of your video on the routing section (at 20:12) might set me in the right direction to understand it better. Again, thanks much, brother!

    I got a Behringer x32 Compact a month or so ago, and it is Intimidating. I'm using it for future live streaming and with the help of a friend I met through Discord that does audio, I am finally set up...
    This video is great, and makes me think of a hundred questions... But the straight forward dealing with the basics is better than all of the other channels with 50-300k subs.
    Also, all, future videos should just randomly refer to "Joe". Joe is now an off camera, never talking 3rd person on the channel.
    Great stuff! I might pop back in here with questions!

    Dana, thanks for your videos. I have a basic question I want to ask about x32-edit routing. I can't hear any of my incoming channels on my mac. I can see the signal on the meters. When I'm in my DAW (Logic) I can hear them if I arm the track for recording. But I can't hear anything unless my DAW is open. How can I get my channels so I can hear them through my computer speakers?

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1 2 года назад +1

      Just so you know, I am not a Mac or Logic user, but I have the same issues with Windows 10 and Reaper. The card routing in the X32 is setup for professional recording, without any added effects. The signal path is Input > Pre-amp > Card Out. If you use external speakers for your computer, then you can get a 1/8th to 1/4 stereo adapter and just come out of the headphone jack on the rack. Set the monitor output to AFL and you can now hear any of the internal effects you have added in the rack.

    Hey Dana, thanks for this buddy. Super helpful. Can I make a small suggestion. I noticed in one of your other vids you mentioned you use Camtasia to do your vids. Because of the speed that you move your mouse around, it can be difficult for the viewer to see where your are on the screen (it will probably be newbies watching so they won't be familiar with the layout skin so they'll be lost most of the time). Can I suggest you use the Cursor effect on Camtasia. Easy to use, just go to your effects on the left, select the Cursor Effects option, then drag that effect over your final video track before exporting. You can set the colour and intensity/transparency on the right. Will certainly make the presentations easier to follow. Most of us wathcing will be males and everyone knows we can only do one thing at a time. We can either listen to what you're saying, or trying and find where your mouse is on the screen. We can't do both at the same time. 😄. Only a suggestion mate, finding your channel very helpful.

      Believe it or not, you are about the 100th person to suggest that. I did switch over and started user cursor effects right after I made my first few videos. Everything is a learning curve. ;-)

    Dana I am a x32 rack user and I am having major issues. So what I have is the x32 rack running with the Dante card and the SD16 Stage box. My delima is that I want to mutitrack and stream my church service live. I have my multitrack system on one side of the sancuary with a dVS license and on my main Vmix machine I have another DVS license. I have everything routed but when I go to the routing I get lost. I am using inputs 1-16 on the rack and 1-16 inputs on the stage box AES50. I am using 4 outputs on the stagebox for IEMS and for my outputs on the x32 im using outputs 3 for stage monitors and output 4 for a subwoofer on the rack. I am using Busmix 1and 2 for my livestream into Vmix but, when I try to multitrack with my laptop I get all of my channels coming in weather I want to here just 1 mic it comes over all channels. What am I doing wrong? I guess I am getting confussed about the outputs and inputs.

    can you put music from a computer or PC into channel 1?

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1 3 месяца назад

      Yes you can and you have a few ways to do it. The first is by using a audio interface which is expensive and unnecessary. The best way is to use the Aux In Remapping feature in Routing. Select "Card In 1 & 2" and then go to channel 1 and under the Config tab, select Aux In 1.

      Go to the Monitor tab and make sure you have AFL, (After Final Listen) selected. If you are talking about hearing the FX in your IEMs, then you need to add them into your monitor buses just like you do for each channel you want to hear.

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1 9 месяцев назад

      There are certain inputs that will not allow you to assign phantom power to, like the Aux Inputs and Card Inputs. Also, if you have your routing setup incorrectly, the input may not allow the phantom power as well, as it thinks it is not connected.

    • @chrisgraham7031
      @chrisgraham7031 9 месяцев назад

      I figured it out after 5 hrs of frustration. It was the play/record in the routing. I'm not sure why they would toggle the phantom power option off when switching between those. Something so simple. Thanks for the input Dana 👍

    Thank you for this overview is there a way to use the DCA Group to also Mute the Channels assigned to it. I clicked on Mute on my DCA and none of the Channels going to it muted but If i pull the fader down then of course all those source volumes go down. But I was under the impression that the DCA could also mute the channels assigned to it somehow. Thanks in advance.

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1 2 года назад +1

      It does. If you have channels 1 through 8 assigned to DCA 1, then if you mute DCA 1, it will mute the outputs of channel 1 through 8. Make sure you do not have these same channels assigned to another DCA or Bus group. If you do, then you would also have to mute those as well.

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1 2 года назад +1

      Great question and I hope it's not your last! ;-) You don't need a router, but you will need to connect a Ethernet cable from the X32 into your computer. That is for running the software. The USB connection is for using the X32 card for multi track recording and playback. When you connect this same setup using a router, you can then use wireless apps so you are not tied to the console.
