Mines sitting on my bedside table with a shattered screen. No idea how or why but I know I'm glad they removed the awful curve screen gimmick. Too bad I already got the Pixel 9. After 4 Samsung's crap screens randomly shattering I refused to buy another. I prefer the Samsung UI, though. Wish I knew this was coming out lol.

Speakers volume and quality are second to none. I'd also like to see Winlator being used on this to run some Steam games (maybe its just more of a novelty item). I have zero desire for nuclear fast charging, because I'm not trying to murder the battery.
Regular charging will still wear down the battery, of course not as fast as quote 'nuclear fast charging' however it is still handy for those that need it. You can always replace the battery if you notice abnormal battery life.
One of the best updates to the S series IMO. In terms of looks, I think going with the rounded corners is a really smart move. The AI features I can take or leave, honestly I think they will become more invasive and less helpful over time, but that's an entirely different conversation. I have been with my S21 ultra since around the time it came out, this is probably one of the first galaxy releases since then that would make me want to upgrade.😊
You could have easily waited until S26 Ultra because the S21 Series will get OneUI 7 and the S26 Series will get some major upgrades in design, battery and cameras
@@ahan0602 My battery is still very good. You should ideally keep it between 20% and 80% and it will work great for years. And spending another 1000$ just because of the battery is insane
@@ahan0602 it's still holding up surprisingly well. I need to charge once during the day to get through a long day on light usage. Definitely not great, but could be worse. But I'm on the exynos version so the chip upgrade alone will be a similar jump to when I went from my S7 Edge to the S21U.
The S-pen downgrade is such a huge insult. Complete dealbreaker. If they don't come to their senses with the S26 ultra, that will mark the end of my 12 years as a loyal Galaxy Note/S Ultra user
Yes, it seems over-the-top for many of us who would not miss the S-pen if Samsung removed it entirely. But I understand that even though niche Samsung fans rely on the S-pen, otherwise, the Ultra would offer very little over much cheaper flagship rivals like the Op13 and Magic 7 Pro, both £450 more affordable in the UK and getting more RAM.
The funny part about the hate is that for years everyone has called 99% of the stuff the S pen does gimmicks and tbh as someone who has bought the ultra or notes in the past for the s pen I can guarantee 99.99% of the time I’ve never actually used it, so for me the fact they got rid of one portion of the functionality of the s pen and that’s the part that people are getting upset I don’t really understand it and then the whole 16 gb of ram as well thing the phones have been fine with 12 gb I’m all for wanting the best that there is available for phones but I also think after a while a lot of numbers are just numbers I’ve never had issues with ram on any of the Samsung phones and nor do I feel like it will ever be an issue down the line so I get why people would want 16 gb but I also don’t think it’s the end of the world that it’s not available outside of Korea and if people really want that 16 gb I’m sure they will justify going to Korea and buying it just to say that they have the 16 gb version

How smart is that? We've reached an era where smartphones have become really expensive. Why would people pay more when we've already hit the limit? In addition, compared to other smartphones on the market, some makers offer similar products for less. Just look at the OnePlus 13.
@peterparker2068 Samsungs hardware and software ion think no mainstream phone is really up there with Samsung dex alone is CRAZY and 200MP people say megapixels don't matter but when it's 200 it definitely does capture more depth and detail nothing looks flat and compressed 100x zoom yes I actually use that almost every day to zoom down the street to see if my bus is coming Samsung is top tier they just got a little lazy
@ DeX is pretty good, but there are some phones on the market with comparable desktop experiences. Have you tried Motorola's Ready For? They have their own interesting take on a desktop mode. As for photos, I have no qualms about Samsung's camera quality, but according to the DxOMark benchmark, Samsung isn’t in the top ten. A lot of the pictures produced rely heavily on AI and software. If you want the best photos, Chinese brands currently have Samsung beat. Personally, I enjoy Samsung’s take on Android, but there are other great options out there. I’ve been a Samsung Knight since the Note 3, but that doesn’t mean I’ll stick with them no matter what. At the end of the day, I’m a techie, and I like to try other options on the market to make informed comparisons.
Im Trading-In my beloved S23U for the new S25U. Highlights for me are the new design, the 6.9" display, the improved anti-reflection and the Snapdragon 8 Elite with its super speed. The pre-order discounts and upgrades were very welcome to make the buy decision easier. I cant wait to have it in my hands :)
I used to upgrade yearly, but since the iPhone 11PM, I have upgraded every two years. I am now thinking about every three years as smartphones mature with less room for innovation.

Solid review. In the years owning the Ultra with a BT S pen I have probably used it for pictures a dozen times. I'd rather a more compact and lighter device like the 25. Love the flat screen. My Ultra is due for delivery January 30!

I have not considered any of the Ultra phones since the S21 Ultra. It was hard to give it up as a trade-in, but I did. If I could have I would have hung onto my S21U as it is definitely the best phone I've had. Also great to see you read the Bible. Subscribed!
Once you start using the Spen bluetooth features, you will understand! Many people have the Ultra just because it is the best 1 from Samsung, the cameras, etc. They don't even use the pen. I use this a lot with group Pictures, front/rear cameras, Zoom in/out, flip them, etc
How long will the battery last? Last time I had an android/samsung phone the battery would start dying within a year, not lasting me a whole day. The iPhone I have now still gets me through the day despite having it for over 4 years. I’d love to go back to Samsung, but scared of the battery dying so soon, just like every phone I had before getting my first iPhone in 2020…

I used my S Pen every day and I find the Bluetooth mostly unnecessary. How often do people use the gesturing feature to take advantage of the Bluetooth? The S pen is designed to write and that is why it's called a pen.
The only thing i wish it would still do is snap the photo and turn the camara lol. U could set it up take ur pen with u n snap the photos. N do solo photos that arnt always a selfie
If you use the camera alot (like me) it's a big deal... being able to have the pen as a remote shutter button has been vital in getting great shots, especially group selfies
Super Mario Strikers GC isn’t the best example to use. It easily runs 60fps on a Huawei Mate 20 Pro on Dolphin with the only slowdowns on menu switching, the gameplay is flawless on that phone and is an outlier compared to the rest of the GC and Wii lineup which struggles to run on the Mate 20 Pro. F Zero GX is a better option.

That's why I'm considering upgrading to the S25U. So my expectations to S25U are: - better camera performance - longer battery life (after 2 years S25plus is no longer what it used to be in terms of battery) - bigger screen - overall faster performance due do new snapdragon
You're basically getting Google Gemini Advanced free for 6 months, which is simply their best offerings for more, as the name suggests, advanced use cases (process documents up to 1500 pages, for example)
Yes, Samsung is somewhat reticent in saying what they will charge. Though they pay billions to Google for most AI features, they must charge. The problem with Samsung nailing itself to Gemini AI is its cost. As we saw with China AI, many people would be better off avoiding the $20 a month after six months and using a free ChatBot or Generative AI LLM. Apple has stated that it sees AI as OS software and will not charge it when it is fully ready. I suspect all on-device AI will remain free on Samsung devices, but using Gemini AI cloud services will mean a subscription.

i just bought the s25 ultra thru Samsung. Cant wait for it to arrive. They offered the 512gb version for the same price as the 256. I got a $600 credit for my S22 Ultra. I then got $150 in Samsung cash which i used in their store to buy the rugged case, clear case, 2 smart trackers and a 10,00mah 25 watt battery charger pack. With tax it was around $770 (10% tax in Illinois). I think thats a great deal and although im bummed about not being able to use the s pen as a remote shutter release anymore, i will buy a release for $15 on amazon. Still wont solve the other gestures that the spen could do....and yeah, thats annoying.
I had an S23U and S24U and never used the S pen (only for digital signatures which is very rare). Now I am using a Z Fold 6 with no S pen (I traded in my S24U) and added money.
I have an iPhone X thinking of the ultra as well I get not making a mistake. I am seeing a lot of mixed reviews on the camera from the 16pro. I think overall they are about the same. The software looks a lot nicer in the ultra
I have little experience with Chinese phones but they are all very good spec-wise. S23U is the first ultra that got really good battery so you can’t go wrong with any of those options really

I am very disappointed about the bluetooth functionality being removed. Especially if you cant even buy an "upgraded" version of the pen in order to use the remote feature.
Ill be in the market when the s26 or s27 comes out. Not sure where im at in my agreement. I wasnt initially going to upgrade at first but when i found out Verizon would indeed give me $900 for an S10 i had sitting in my drawer i jumped on the opportunity to upgrade to the S24 from my S21.
I don't need AI i just hardware changes. Better speakers(bigger), larger Mp on front camera,larger/faster fingerprint scanner, display has always been best in class. But can we push beyond that.
I've had 2 different s24 ultra and they have worse battery life than any phone I've had. The phone overheats every day and the battery lasts me about 6 hours with minimal use. Gonna give the 25 ultra a try and see how it goes.

Solid review. In the years owning the Ultra with a BT S pen I have probably used it for pictures a dozen times. I'd rather a more compact and lighter device like the 25. Love the flat screen. My Ultra is due for delivery January 30!

Im really excited to get the s25 U in! Ive never used the pen bluetooth so i dont mind that.

I have not considered any of the Ultra phones since the S21 Ultra. It was hard to give it up as a trade-in, but I did. If I could have I would have hung onto my S21U as it is definitely the best phone I've had. Also great to see you read the Bible. Subscribed!
I keep my S21 Ultra until at least S26 Ultra because it is as good as new and still get OneUI 7

Once you start using the Spen bluetooth features, you will understand! Many people have the Ultra just because it is the best 1 from Samsung, the cameras, etc. They don't even use the pen. I use this a lot with group Pictures, front/rear cameras, Zoom in/out, flip them, etc
How long will the battery last? Last time I had an android/samsung phone the battery would start dying within a year, not lasting me a whole day. The iPhone I have now still gets me through the day despite having it for over 4 years.
I’d love to go back to Samsung, but scared of the battery dying so soon, just like every phone I had before getting my first iPhone in 2020…

I saw a lot of reactions from S24 ultra owners. How is the battery life on the s24 ultra? Im thinking to switch to Samsung, so then i want the s25 ultra, but i really dont know what type of battery life i can expect....
I used my S Pen every day and I find the Bluetooth mostly unnecessary. How often do people use the gesturing feature to take advantage of the Bluetooth? The S pen is designed to write and that is why it's called a pen.
The only thing i wish it would still do is snap the photo and turn the camara lol. U could set it up take ur pen with u n snap the photos. N do solo photos that arnt always a selfie
If you use the camera alot (like me) it's a big deal... being able to have the pen as a remote shutter button has been vital in getting great shots, especially group selfies
I'm thinking of switching from the Fold 5 to the S25 Ultra, but I'm not sure because I really love the Fold.

My s23 is getting used a lot, my s24 is still in it's case. my note 9, 10 are ready to rock.
Super Mario Strikers GC isn’t the best example to use. It easily runs 60fps on a Huawei Mate 20 Pro on Dolphin with the only slowdowns on menu switching, the gameplay is flawless on that phone and is an outlier compared to the rest of the GC and Wii lineup which struggles to run on the Mate 20 Pro. F Zero GX is a better option.

@@ShaneSymonds Yes, overall the S23Plus is still solid, but I've had it for 2 years and am no longer satisfied with the camera performance, especially compared to iPhone 16 Pro Max. That's why I'm considering upgrading to the S25U.
So my expectations to S25U are:
- better camera performance
- longer battery life (after 2 years S25plus is no longer what it used to be in terms of battery)
- bigger screen
- overall faster performance due do new snapdragon

You're basically getting Google Gemini Advanced free for 6 months, which is simply their best offerings for more, as the name suggests, advanced use cases (process documents up to 1500 pages, for example)
Yes, Samsung is somewhat reticent in saying what they will charge. Though they pay billions to Google for most AI features, they must charge. The problem with Samsung nailing itself to Gemini AI is its cost. As we saw with China AI, many people would be better off avoiding the $20 a month after six months and using a free ChatBot or Generative AI LLM. Apple has stated that it sees AI as OS software and will not charge it when it is fully ready. I suspect all on-device AI will remain free on Samsung devices, but using Gemini AI cloud services will mean a subscription.

As a Samsung fang, they really let us down this year
i just bought the s25 ultra thru Samsung. Cant wait for it to arrive. They offered the 512gb version for the same price as the 256. I got a $600 credit for my S22 Ultra. I then got $150 in Samsung cash which i used in their store to buy the rugged case, clear case, 2 smart trackers and a 10,00mah 25 watt battery charger pack. With tax it was around $770 (10% tax in Illinois). I think thats a great deal and although im bummed about not being able to use the s pen as a remote shutter release anymore, i will buy a release for $15 on amazon. Still wont solve the other gestures that the spen could do....and yeah, thats annoying.

I had an S23U and S24U and never used the S pen (only for digital signatures which is very rare). Now I am using a Z Fold 6 with no S pen (I traded in my S24U) and added money.
I will be receiving my S25 Ultra on Thursday and I cant wait 😊 With the Galaxy Buds3 Pro, Silver fir free!!!

I have an iPhone X thinking of the ultra as well I get not making a mistake. I am seeing a lot of mixed reviews on the camera from the 16pro. I think overall they are about the same. The software looks a lot nicer in the ultra
As a 21 Ultra user I can comfortably wait until S26 Ultra because the S21 Series will also get the OneUI 7 update.

I have little experience with Chinese phones but they are all very good spec-wise. S23U is the first ultra that got really good battery so you can’t go wrong with any of those options really

I am very disappointed about the bluetooth functionality being removed. Especially if you cant even buy an "upgraded" version of the pen in order to use the remote feature.
Ill be in the market when the s26 or s27 comes out. Not sure where im at in my agreement. I wasnt initially going to upgrade at first but when i found out Verizon would indeed give me $900 for an S10 i had sitting in my drawer i jumped on the opportunity to upgrade to the S24 from my S21.
The s pen is gonna be slowly phased out.
That's my thought, once they get a better s pen situation on the Folds it will be gone on this S series

I don't need AI i just hardware changes. Better speakers(bigger), larger Mp on front camera,larger/faster fingerprint scanner, display has always been best in class. But can we push beyond that.
I've had 2 different s24 ultra and they have worse battery life than any phone I've had. The phone overheats every day and the battery lasts me about 6 hours with minimal use. Gonna give the 25 ultra a try and see how it goes.
