You’ve probably already figured this out, but just for context for the video, if you have familiars, mounts, sidekicks, animal companions, etc. set up in the Extras tab of the character sheet, these will show up in the Companions tab of the token menu. D&D Beyond has studiously avoided calling it a VTT, referring to it only as a “Maps tool.” While there are a number of work arounds to use Beyond on VTTs for online play, I think the core intended use for Beyond tools is as aids for playing in person. This is probably best viewed as an extension of that. Hence, used in conjunction with character sheets and combat tracker, rather than integrated with them.
Honestly, I started taking another look and my system crashed, not Maps, and was frustrated so I haven’t gone back yet. I’ll take a look at it, thanks for the info! I haven’t tried it online but I can totally see practical uses for in person play, good idea!
interesting.. I mean, it's neat, but only way I could do it would be if I could open everything across multiple screens, I can't stand bouncing back and forth.
Yeah I’ve been playing with it a bit and I can’t find a way to open the character sheet within the map. That’s a must have for me, tab switching annoys me
@@DragonsAndFlagons- at the moment, the only benefit that this has over AboveVTT, that I can see, is this doesn't require a browser extension, just a link, so more people might be willing to get it. With AboveVTT, I've had to load myself in as both DM and Player so that I can see behind Fog of War, but show my players their view via video chat...

TYVM for this video it seems similar to AboveVTT.
Thanks for watching. It is but it’s not completely there yet. I do have high hopes

Are you switching to it for your campaigns.
Not as of now, AboveVTT is still far superior

Is this available for free? I don’t have a paid account.
It requires a master tier subscription, presumably from the DM. But they are offering a free trial for one month
its payed but you can use AboveVTT and its the same thing for free
