Three years before Fred and Ginger got together in 'Flying Down to Rio'. She was already a seasoned movie player, who taught him as much about acting for the camera as he and Hermes Pan taught her about hoofing.
In this year Ginger got the female lead in 'Queen High'. One scene has her singing while an unknown teen tapdances on a table- Eleanor Powell. The Golden Age of musicals was limbering up.

I’m always fascinated with Ginger Rogers, and her career. Really cool to see her at such a young age before her fame skyrocketed. I would love to see Hollywood do a feature on her career. Jennifer Lawrence could play her possibly. Anyways thanks for the upload.

Her 2nd Talkie screen appearance. a musical short produced in New York, a Screen Audition / Test for Broadway - Vaudeville talent to see if they would make the grade in Hollywood.
Well, I think we all know what happened to Ginger....and what happened to poor Thelma White who ended up in Tell Your Children / Reefer Madness. She passed in 2005 still regretting her appearance in the sleazy cult classic.
Thanks for posting. I just wanted to see this creaky 88 yr old curiosity for the two Principals.

A day of a man of affairs came first but am fairly sure that the short itself is considered lost although the audio survives

One Hundred Thirteen years ago, Virginia Katherine McMath was born on July 16, 1911 in Independence, MO. She would later become Ginger Rogers. Today is her birthday as I type this. TCM has a series of movies on its schedule to honor her, without Fred Astaire. May she rest in peace, beauty, and talent. And class as well.

Ginger and Fred were meant to be together
in the 10 films they made. They were heaven together.

My dorm never let us do a chorus line.

    $15 in 1930 is about $260 in today's money!

Ginger didn't really need Fred! Lovely and talented enough by herself.
