There is a render of a titan, Avatar if i remember correctly, placed hovering over Manhattan and shadowing most of it. Seeing that and realizing that _Keepstar_ space stations are around 10 times bigger than a titan ... that gives some scale.

MAN the fresh look of there ships marks in y mind, each of them are so epic that you can not forgot them, it's just that Star Wars ships seemed to make more sense than these ships with weird pieces sticking out all around them...
When you see them in action, firing missiles or activating tractor beams etc, you can see where those devices are mounted on the ship. I would also guess that sensor arrays and the like are part of some of the designs.
Jm Fowler this have nothing to do with how EVE look like in gameplay. This video suppose to demonstrate the sense of "SCALE". To do so you put a standard object like human beside to compare. By zooming in the ship itself with this resolution it totally backfire.
I think the OP is talking about the artificial near-field blur that the video employs, and he has a point. Since such blur only happens in real life with objects a few meters away at most (barring high-power zoom), it makes the ships appear much smaller -- like models.
Was I the only one who was already shocked by the scale of the shuttles? I mean the shuttles themselves were massive, let alone for even the scale small frigates.
I am looking forward to the next video instalment especially with the addition of extra Jovian ,SOCT, Drifter,Triglavian, CONCORD and Sleeper ships THAT would be a killer video!(Including Motherships too)
I really like it...my thing, which I don't know if anyone can fix...but part of the problem with how I see this and other videos, is that part of the reason people do these is because it's hard to visualize the size differences, and I think how quickly we move about each ship lends to the scaling issue...flying around each ship at the same speed as opposed to an equivalent speed to the size of the ship, would help give the feel of the size. It was closer in this vid than ever before tho, kudos!
Yeah, in game music. The music gives the entire game a vibe that i've never felt anywhere else. It makes me feel like I'm so far in the future that nothing recognizable exists anymore, kinda lonely.
This is one of the two best vids about eve online. I watched it the fourth time and it still impresses me. (Hint: the second vid about eve: dump ways to die) Just awesome what people do or create about this game...!!!
Very beautiful ships and a great video except I wish it wasn't so damn "dramatic" - they could've shown all those in 15 minutes instead of an hour. I had to skip most of them.
At 23:54. The Amarr Battlecruiser Oracle looks alot like the Mother ship from Homeworld. At 37:25. The Amarr Freighter Providence reminds me of the Rebel Troop transports from Star Wars. And the TITANS.*nerdgasm* Could you imagine flying around in Noob/beginner space with one of those? Just park 10km in front of the faction start out hangar and make beginners just stare in awe at your ship.*god status achieved* Very good vid.
In the game itself, especially the Shuttles never felt big. They were small, tiny ships, but fast as heck. Now you compared them to people instead of to bigger ships like I did. Well, they turn Out to be... big. REALLY Big! Awesome Vid so far(1:44 into it...)
I would like to see a shot of a large ship (BS+) from the perspective of a human. Tasteful use of depth of field would be interesting from that perspective. This video is amazing, though. AMAZING. Thanks so much. Best eve ship size video out there.
Too bad you didn't add them with their weapon systems fitted....would have been cool to see the guns/launchers on them. Aside from that it is pretty amazing dude!
In the former version of EVE (when this vid was done) it was not possible to export the trasher model. The triexporter caused an error, so that´s why the trasher is missing....
Well put together but ends up just being a collection of ships, its the scale versus something we all know that makes it interesting for me (humans, a bus , 747 etc)
The ships actually do have crews, only the smallest of them are controlled by only the capsuleer. There are quite a few references to crew in the books and stories.
No matter what people say, gallente are my favorite. Their ships look so alien and alive, not to mention that their blasters are just raw, close range power.
Awesome video, although the Mega has gotten a new model a few months ago. Well, that just ilustrates how much work was required for such a video. Awesome!
It was kinda hard to relate the size differences because smaller classes were not usually visible and distinguishable from the current class being displayed. None the less, it was an awesome video.
Haha, I even remember getting Osprey, like, a week after starting the game, and it was still the old graphical engine, and actually saying out loud "holy crap" upon seeing it in my hangar XD
