Notching shears are shears that have a much bigger gap that doesn't get cut when you close them. Blending shears usually have very small sections that doesn't cut the hair. Notching or chunking shears make the cut look exactly like the name of the shears. Hope that helps...

But due to Covid, he's let it grow all one length to his shoulders! And wants me to cut it like you did Rob's. But the problem is , his hair is baby fine. So do you think he would need a lot of layering to ad volume? I'm so scared. LOL
Great haircut, however execution was very inefficient. Most of what you cut with the scissors on the sides ended up being cut with clipper over comb. Could have just established the base length with the clipper first then use the scissors to create the shape and flow you were going for
the way he freestyles the clippers without gaurds was amazing to see

we believe he was transitioning the haircut! Longer on top shorter as he gets to the back. Hope this helps
