Had one in High School. Was Purple color. I absolutely loved it. Just had the 6 cylinder, but it contributed to a couple of local story’s in the news. Man I pushed that car to the Max!!!
Love that Old Gremlin ! My older brother had one back in the early-mid 70's , same motor, dark green with white stripes. He drove that car everywhere it was very reliable.
another outstanding show dennis,i truly appreciate the work and time and money it takes you to make these magnificent videos, from a 72 year old man that loves pure art,it's here, thanks.
I had a ‘73 X with the 5 liter V-8 . It was a fun car , had to keep at least a half tank in it or the rear end would come loose on acceleration at times . Mine had the 737 trans mounted in a consul on the floor . Great bucket seats and probably every option you could get . I bought it used from the local AMC dealer , it was a trade in , a banker bought it for his wife an she did not like it , low miles on it , I kept it for a year and a half , traded it in for a larger car , family got bigger . I would own another .
My grandpa had a yellow / black stripe Gremlin. We were leaving school in about '76, or '77 and my buddy wasn't watching, and hit a road grader in his folks purple Gremlin, we bounced off the tire.
My first car was a brand new 1975 Gremlin. It was a Custom level trim, 232 six, 3 speed w/OD. I loved that car. Don’t let anyone tell you Gremlins are somehow inferior. It was a better car than any other subcompact then on the market if you value power (it was by far the fastest and torquiest), reliability, durability, comfort and value. It was low priced with proven tech that worked wonderfully so repairs were few and cheap with commonly available parts with the best warranty in the business. Mine had the standard engine and would smoke any other subcompact. It was comfortable with decent ride and excellent seats (the rear seat had terribly cramped legroom lol) and got great gas milage. It was stylish and unique. Mine had manual steering and brakes which were effortless to use. I still would want one with manual steering, it made the car delightful to drive. I loved that car and wish I still had it.
They mentioned that everybody of a certain age has a connection with a Gremlin. I specifically watched this because of the thumbnail. When my parents first started dating in the late '80s, my father's daily-driver was a red Gremlin. Unfortunately it was already long-gone by the time my sister and I were born in the mid-'90s.
I am 31 years old Never even seen a Gremlin in person But I’ve wanted one for some time now It’s one of a few cars on my list to buy if I ever started making decent money. Along with an 80s station wagon, early 60s Impala, Lot of good stuff I’d love to get my hands on
That '57 Vette. This is just me, when I see a corvette at a car show/cruise, I just walk on by. These cars are invisible to me. There's just too many out there for me to pay attention to. But THAT 57 VETTE!! Good Golly, Miss Molly! lol!! This is just so dam nice.
I had a brand new 72 Gremlin X with the 304 and 3 speed manual, same color and interior color as this 73. Put headers on it with a big 650 holley carb on it. Took it down to Union Grove drag strip and try as I could I couldn't break into the 14's, almost though, best of 15.03 at about 90 mph if I remember correctly. Still plenty fast for a Gremlin. Had a lot of guys wouldn't race me because if I won they wouldn't be able to live it down being beat by a Gremlin.
In 1977 I purchased a 1973 gremlin withA/C & the large straight 6 engine.. seem to have plenty of power! it was yellow with a black racing stripe that went down the side and then up around the back window.. it came with factory tinted glass which was actually pretty dark.. I love my gremlin and felt it was a cool car. Came with the air deflector on the back roof..... My friend purchased a 77 gremlinX with a V8 ..HE Bilt and bored the engine.. it had side pipes and traction bars in the back with big wide back tires... That car was fast! ..
gremlins were always cool , just wasnt enough smart people to notice . I had the 304 gremlin x , it was the best handling car i ever had . And ive had over 60 cars .
BLK GNX My favorite car of all time. I love blowing people's mind when I tell them a V6 Buick Regal was one of the fastest cars in the world in it's time.
Mom had a blue '72 with a 232 straight six in it. On the showroom when Dad bought it there was an "X" with the 304 in it. I begged Dad to get it! He said Mom needed something with good gas mileage.UGH!
Wow, just happened upon your clips on RUclips today and can’t seem to stop watching them. Then lightening struck, when I saw Mark Eaton’s ‘57 Corvette with C6 running gear! That is what I want as my next car build. Do you know who made this car for Mark, or can you suggest whom to contact, preferably on the east coast, as I would need to “ commute” from Germany? Looking for the best quality and workmanship.
The Roadster Shop makes a frame for this swap, an acquaintance is building a '59 with a LT-4. Llngenfelter Performance could probably build one, as they build a similar version of the C2 Grand Sport, in the Detroit area. I believe Roadster Shop builds complete cars, also, I think they're in Oregon (west coast). Both are top quality builders.
That vette is a good example of the "more money than brains club". Why use an original body? The guy with the MG, outstanding job! Same with the Gremlin and the Buick. No, I don't like modifying rare vehicles. That Vette is beautiful, as is my neighbors restomod '63, but there are reproduction bodies for that purpose.
I have a brand new , never been on a car , gas cap for a Gremlin , it's still in the plastic . I would like to get a Gremlin that doesn't have a gas cap and put it on .. lol
disappointing it wasnt a v8 like my uncles lol and its a pretty town an all as long as the idiots that feller listed in the opening dont return itll be a great place to visit
Had a six cylinder manual shift gremlin back in the 1990s. It was one of the best cars I have ever owned.
Beautiful! Gorgeous Gremlin!
The Gremlin X was lovely, as was the setting for this car show.
Had one in High School. Was Purple color. I absolutely loved it. Just had the 6 cylinder, but it contributed to a couple of local story’s in the news. Man I pushed that car to the Max!!!
What a beautiful place for a car show! For my money, it doesn't get any better than that.
The Gremlin X Is Beautiful!!!
Stunning town and backdrop, what an amazing place! Oh and the cars are pretty neat too 👌
Love that Old Gremlin ! My older brother had one back in the early-mid 70's , same motor, dark green with white stripes. He drove that car everywhere it was very reliable.
troynov1965 Really? Are you just a late amc salesman?
Thanks for sharing. That's what happens when you treat a car nice.
International used that engine in the Scout II also.

first video of you I have seen and I am in love with the format. Great camera shots and interesting interviews... and of course great cars!!
Thanks! This is the 27th year of the show so there’s a lot of content to peruse. Enjoy!

I have always wanted a gremlin since my dad had one years ago
Owned one for the longest time. Loved. Just wore out. Miss it .

Beautiful place for the meet. About Gremlin, I love them, I used to have an 74 with denim interior and 304,
Had a '74 Hornet Hatchback X. White w/orange and the Levi package. Radio delete. 258 with a three speed. I wish they would have offered a five speed.
Sure hope some new episodes come out soon !!
Had a 73 gremlin x 3 speed on floor learned stick in that car
Love that Gremlin as I had a yellow with black stripe 1973 in high school 1984
I like the red AMC Gremlin X nice car 🚗.

First, you need a license! 😂

The 304 could be overbored .125" with no problem.
When that Gremlin came off of the line I doubt anybody thought that there would be any around 50 odd years later. Simple cheap transportation.
gremlins were always cool , just wasnt enough smart people to notice . I had the 304 gremlin x , it was the best handling car i ever had . And ive had over 60 cars .
Beautiful location for a show..
1972 Gremlin light blue with the 258 straight six, 26 mpg towing a 1000# camper on the I-10. Wish I still had it.
Back in the day many of these Gremlins had rust holes in them after just one Michigan winter!
ah , duh . all cars do where u live , the democrats salt the roads to destroy cars .
Everything rusted back then. The Vegas rusted faster than even a Fiat X1/9
the vette was by far the grandest.
EL CORVETTE AZUL ES UN DULCE!!!
A friend of mine had a two-door Volkswagen GTI. I told him it looked like a Gremlin (It does!), he didn’t appreciate that.😆
Had a 258 Gremlin with a 3 speed in college. It was a quick car, could squak the tires in all three gears.
My sister had a 258, 4 speed Hornet X, quick as a 350 Firebird.
I bought a brand new 75X , trans am red, hockey stick stripe. About $4,000 Canadian, 258 big six. It could fly, but rust was a problem.
The corvete has teeth that even a dentist would compliment
Love the cars, But that waterfall @ 0:40
1:17i believe I spotted a Grand National 😮😁
Yep it was a GN.
BLK GNX My favorite car of all time. I love blowing people's mind when I tell them a V6 Buick Regal was one of the fastest cars in the world in it's time.
What an idyllic location for a car show

I saw you guys sponsor somernites cruise 👍
I learned to drive in a Gremlin. It was a 72. Unfortunately I didn't learn to drive good in it. LOL. I wrapped it around a telephone pole.

Whatdoyou mean, ‘again?’ They were always cool!
My delta integrale can be seen lurking around
Same like tyler gremlin in disney pixar cars 2
That vette is a good example of the "more money than brains club". Why use an original body?

@@marcchaffee7751 wow , I figured it was probably worth a bit of money but wow $200
This kid I knew had a 1070s Jaguar XKE..with a field 289 in it
disappointing it wasnt a v8 like my uncles lol and its a pretty town an all as long as the idiots that feller listed in the opening dont return itll be a great place to visit
Cool Again….??
I’m 70 and when they came out, they weren’t cool then…, so how can they be cool again???
😹😹👍🏻
Gremlins were ALWAYS cool, though not to the common mind stuck in the mud of its ordinary taste: "Doesn't look like a 1970 Chevelle - it's not cool."
They're not Mustang II's. Built off a compact Hornet. Not built off a shitbox Pinto. No tiny tots 13 inch wheels here!
I learned to drive on a yellow three-speed manual gremlin. Man, i hated that car.
I am of that age and had no connection to a gremlin at all ever thank you.
As far as I'm concerned, they have never been "not cool".
The Gremlin is cool. The Pacer is not.
no, they will never be cool, never were
Cool is different for different people.
wrong latham , they are cool but u are not and never will be , dumass .
