Huahine is gorgeous!! That ice cream must have been delicious!!! Sad to see Nat leave but hope she enjoyed her time on board!! Can’t wait too see what is next!! Awesome episode!! 🏝️⚓️⛵️🌊🐚🏄🏼🤙😎 Also jalapeños are absolutely delicious 🤣🤣
A very laid-back episode, everyone seems so comfortable with Boat Life. I had a leak once when I lit the diesel off of Anacapa Island. We started taking on water as it was coming through the thru-hull for the propeller shaft. As it turned out 2 bolts had backed off causing a wobble that pulled the fitting off the thru-hull...I was able to pound it back on before sinking. The owner of this boat, called the Whitestar, was none other than J. Bruce Ismay the 3rd... owner of Whitestar shipping and the Titanic[small world]. We had rented his boat through a sailing club and he was there on the dock to meet us after hearing our Mayday call. Sailing life is never knowing what will happen next...but you are hooked.
Well done guys! The Moorings in Bora Bora are definitely worth a debate. Ours was 90 feet down so we could not tie a line. In that instance, perhaps avoiding the mooring altogether is the way to go, unless you plan to stay aboard. Nothing is worse than coming back to your boat after dinner and having it gone missing! Glad all are safe and keep up the precautions!
Hi family, awesome vlog, what a blast ur all having, the kid's are growing into incredibly beautiful young people, very mature and happy, such a phenomenal lifestyle. Just love it!!!🇦🇺😁💜
"They sleep, and the moon and the sun sleep; and even the ocean sleeps sometimes - on certain days, when there is no current and a flat calm." I love that short passage from The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. I thought of it as I watched your sense of wonder as you watched the crepuscular moonrise.
I just wanted to say how much my son and I enjoy your lifestyle. It is so refreshing to watch a family that is not telling and cussing and where the kids are so polite and they all get along. In a world like ours today, it is very rare. Thank you for sharing your life with us and may God bless you and keep you safe on the open waters.
From one beautiful island to another. Fresh baked bread, yay! Love the shell collection and the vanilla farm. A pretty reef, nice footage. Some nice sunrise shots, such as 2:29, 19:26, 20:55. Great work securing the mooring- can't be too safe. Aww, so sad that Aunty has to leave. The Hello note was sweet (I guess they saw you arrive from a distance), and I hope there will be a follow-up.
I can’t get over how much fun gear you guys have on board (kites, boards, skateboards, bikes, legos) and the place looks ship shape. You guys are all get it done,no drama and stop to watch a moonrise. I hope we cross paths, cheers.. James and Kim s/v Entanglement
@@sailingwithsix Hi, we stayed around the Bahamas. We are hiding from hurricane season in Solomon's Chesapeake Bay. Could you tell me the chords you play at the beginning of your videos? And Happy Birthday! Cheers, James and Kim
Your exploration of the world-famous Bora Bora, despite breaking the rule of not picking up a mooring ball, is both adventurous and captivating. The way you embrace the beauty and excitement of this iconic destination, while sharing the realities of your journey, brings a fresh and genuine perspective to your travel experiences. Your willingness to adapt and explore with enthusiasm makes your story all the more engaging and inspiring. And I am Floating Village Life
This episode was so awesome because the views are stunning and you had mostly flat waters to navigate! I hope Archie succeeded at sorting out the "spaghetti bowl". I can't wait for the next sail and location. Safe Sailing "Sailing with Six"! Did you meet the kids that left the note on your dinghy?
Kris I'd like to apologize ... A few week's ago I went off on you for getting an arm tattoo And I was wrong to do so ... Your video's are my favorite so I hope you accept my foot in mouth moment !... Cheers to you all ...
I love your music choices so much. Is there any way you might consider putting up a playlist for each video? “Can’t Remember” by Gregory David is really perfect.
Great video! On the question anchor or mooring. Anchor you know the quality and that it can handle the weight. But sometimes its not possible or allowed. Personally prefer to avoid all mooring balls. Your additional rope works if theirs would fail but not if the weight would rip out the concrete from the ocean floor. Often moorings a re just used to creata a financial milk cow with zero service or accountability.
Double up Archer well done . I prefer anchor to a mooring ball especially in the Whitsundays as the mooring ball bangs against the hull very annoying. Tell Seth to finish his videos 😂
😂 Seth is busy with land life now… We did a charter in whitsundays and i remember the wind against tide and banging on the hull… another good reason to anchor
Hi sailing with six Kris I do remember the family with the red cat as they went to shore and came back at night to find the cat had broken off the mooring and was on rocks which they could move again but had to get hauled out and repaired and the people in charge of the moorings said that it wasn’t there mooring ball but I don’t know what happened but they no longer travel as they were selling the cat as he was offered a job he could not refuse stay safe and happy boating cheers Barry from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺
For the record, the moorings company denied responsibility (despite us having a receipt AND their mooring ball!) and although our insurance covered our claim they never sought damages from the operator as the likelihood of prevailing in the Bora Bora court system was unlikely. It cost us our $16,500 deductible plus roundtrip flights to Bora Bora and 6 months of living costs (quite a bit!). But mostly it was our lost time out sailing as a family we regret missing the most.
Rules are there to be broken as long as you dive on it just to check. How have you still got hair with four kids. I lost mine when the wee one was two.
How lovely to have your sister staying with you! And what a beautiful place! I hadn’t quite realised Dad was sooooo tall!
Yep, but Shona & Aunty Nat are also rather short. 😂
There was a chillaxed vibe about this video, very enjoyable. I hope Nat enjoyed her holiday
Nat is super easy going and had a great time. Thanks for watching 😊
So cool watching this family enjoying what the Lord Created for everyone of us. One of my favorite you tube Channel.💙🦋🎉☺👏👍❤

Such a scary moment in your sailing life. And one we did not want to repeat.

it seems that some are making new friends they don't know. a fun way to meet new friends😁
Cute huh?!
What a beautiful family love your adventures
Thanks so much
We always back down on moorings just like we do on our anchor. This gives some peace of mind when we have to use one.
You can take the dinghy all the way to the airport from the West side through a canal. This is very convenient if you need to pick up a package also.
Good point. We also do this.
Oh and we discovered that canal while we were at the airport 😂
Smiles! ❤

Finding Vanilla bean plants and making your own vanilla is fun to do!
This is clearly a ChatGPT generated comment
Wow! No wonder vanilla is so expensive, that's alot of work!
Yes it was! A long process right?!

Great point! We are definitely anchor people! 😃
I have the same mooring ball rule and I did not break it in Bora.
Vigilance always, well done.
We’re currently in Thailand 🇨🇦👍
Yeah we considered anchoring and if it was longer than a night we likely would have. We will be in Thailand soon 😉

Hello there, they were known as The sailing Family, their Catamaran was called Archer.
Yep that’s them 👍

Thanks for coming along 😀
I was in Moorea, about forty years ago in club med. At that time, they had vanilla plantations, Where. they now, I assume, have pineapple
I think there could still be some vanilla plantations on Moorea… most islands in the Society Islands were growing all the things 🍍 🍌 🥥
I really cannot answer that, it's too big a question for me.
Fair enough ☺️
That vanilla looks more like green beans.
😂 I wonder what they taste like when green?!
Bobs your uncle? love the different sayings from Australia
