@@chrisherber1635 sadly instead of smashing one of 6 replicas somehow there was a confusion and he smashed a real 1870’s Martin. Why it was even on the set is beyond me.

+walkingonwater Just like GTA video games, that come out once every 6 or 7 years, but when they do, my ohhh myyy. Thats the key to sucess for me, quality over quantity.
Well said. I also like the fact that he always stays focused on entertaining the audience. All his movies, no matter how you rank them, are entertaining. Some film makers become so caught up in chasing awards and trying to impress critics to the point that their movies end up being pretentious and boring.
I really liked the movie. But I kept thinking that Tim Roth was doing a Christoph Waltz impersonation. I wonder if Quentin wanted Christoph and couldn't get him and tried to make Tim act like him. A lot of Roths mannerisms are almost exactly like Walts' from Django.
Just finished watching the movie, and it was very good. I have to say I'm really surprised how Samuel l Jackson didn't get an Oscar nomination for his performance, he was amazing, on par with Jennifer.
Oscars are given on political and other reasons. Not for the talent or being pro about it. Thats why people are saying this sentence “ how come he didn’t get oscar for that!” for billion times and will say it more.
this masterpiece should have been nominated more at the oscars the script the editing kurt russell and sam jackson and jennifer jason liegh should have won that oscar
Man you can see them getting all tense when he brings up the guitar, like they're all thinking "please don't bring it up, please don't bring it up." (For anyone not aware, the guitar that Kurt Russell destroyed in the film was priceless antique 1870 Martin. The crew forgot to tell him and switch it out before he smashed it)
I've heard Tarantino made Russel brake the real guitar on purpose, to get the actors real reaction. Only something I've heard though, don't know if it's legit.
@@Simmimmi99 That doesn't make much sense. Because she had an actual reaction to the guitar being destroyed. Meaning she broke character. You can even hear her regular voice come in during the scene and her looking at the crew, including Tarantino. I'm pretty sure it was just an accident

She was amazing, but she hardly carried the film all by herself. Jackson was great, Goggins, and of course Russell. The supporting cast was more than adequate as well.
Daisy was a great character. I really liked all the little things she did, like yelling "really nail it in!!!", pantomiming being hanged, and posing for the declaration that the bar represented Philadelphia.
WOOOOHOOOOOOOAAAAAAHHH , She's 53 !!!!!!! I really thought she look about 30 at least ! Goddmann some people are just meant to age like wine =) PROPS !!!
I love the whole cast, but Samuel L Jackson Jennifer Jason Leigh, Kurt Russell and the guy that played Chris, are my absolute favorites!!! I loved Minnie too! 💜💜💜
Jennifer Jason-Leigh is so perfect in every role she plays. She can play naive and innocent in one role and then wickedly beautiful in the next. She reminds me of the great Lauren Bacall. Not bad, if you like TALENT!
This movie is two thumbs up ! My favorite Western of all time is The Wild Bunch - This is my other favorite of all time ❤ I never knew Quentin Tarantino understood a good western . This movie is unbelivebly good 😊😊😊
Jimmy didn't care less about Jennifer playing the guitar, he purposely brought it up hoping they will talk about Kurt breaking it. Look how serious and silent Quentin remains during the whole exchange, knowing what Jimmy is trying to do.
I enjoyed Hateful Eight a lot more than Django Unchained. Yes, it was very self-indulgent but it was a lot more Tarantino-esque. It felt more true to Tarantino as an auteur that involved his strongest asset as a filmmaker - dialogue. Whereas Django just felt like a Hollywoodised drama.
Kurt remains as an America hero as Clint and Heston, always great in any movie he's in, and Jennifer is awesome in this movie, deserved of an Oscar indeed
I love Jennifer Jason Leigh, I wish she hadn't dropped off the Hollywood radar for as long as she did, it's a shame. So many beautiful, but less talented actresses have been promoted instead.
Although none of the actors were bad, these are performances best to worst for me: Walton Goggins, Samuel L Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Bruce Dern, Demian Bichir, Michael Madsen.
Just read that Kurt smashed that Martin 1870's guitar, and Jennifer's reaction is real. They were supposed to swap it out for a replica but Kurt apparently didn't get the memo... ouch. It was on loan from the Martin Co. Museum.
Legendary cast and actors all with Tarantino too! Had John Ruth lived long enough, he and Daisy Dormegue would have had more time to get together and become even more assertive and abusive towards each other in an imaginative relationship. Great Couple fight lol! Again, what a Spectacular casting and masterful movie!
Its weird seeing John Ruth sit next to Daisy without smacking her in the face every 2 mins..

+Spankasaurus Rex A man haunted by the demons of his past
A totally different kind of story, though. Like 'The Unforgiven', but a futuristic sci-fi version.

I had such a thing for Jennifer Jason Leigh when I was a kid.
So that's Tarantino cast Bridget Fonda in Jackie Brown and now JJL in Hateful Eight. It'd be great if he could convince Fonda to get back in the game.
When I saw Oswaldo sitting in the chair,I told myself "that man should have been Christopher Waltz." Tim Roth did a great hob though.
