Bee Man Vs Stubborn Bees In Shed Floor

- I had removed bees form this shed 2 years & one month ago. That colony was underneath the floor on the right side. This colony was on the front of the shed right by the front door under the plywood floor.
This colony was more established with more numbers but the bees were very gentle requiring zero smoke to deal with.
The queen was a stubborn one to say the least, even more stubborn than the floor was to open.
The floor was screwed down, but several screws were countersunk whereby you couldn't tell they were even there.
With perseverance I was able to do what needed to be done.
It was in the 90's F when I began the job late Friday evening. Because the bees were underneath two different adjacent floor sections I ran out of time the first evening to pull all comb out.
I began Part 2, day 2 the following day, Saturday at 6:40 am. The queen was super stubborn & forced me to leave the box on site until Sunday night.
I went by Saturday evening to check the box to see if she had moved in & lo & behold she had, fantastic!
I am a beekeeper & live bee removal specialist located within 10 miles of New Orleans, Louisiana.
We have mild winters & bees thrive here & keep me busy approximately 10.5 months of the year.
I will go just about anywhere to deal with bees but home base is southeast, Louisiana.
The bee vac I helped test & design & highly recommend is the Colorado Bee Vac.
HoneybGone is my preferred bee repellent manufactured by Blythewood Bee Company who also manufactures Swarm Commander, honey bee lure.
If you enjoy my videos please consider subscribing to my channel, I would greatly appreciate that!
I passed a swarm hanging out on a street sign the other day, and a crazy part of me thought, “I bet I can get those bees into a box. I’ve watched JP enough!” 🤣
Amanda Brunsmann LMBO!! Yea, so how’d that go!! He really is awesome, I love watching his vids & the teaching he does.....the "edgeamacation”. LOL
Lordt I would love it if there was such a followi g that everyone just started doing swarm catching lol
I used to be scared to death of bees growing up. Any kind of buzzing insect, I did not like. I still don't like most of them lol, but since watching your videos JP, I've really started to get over that fear. Just last thursday, I found myself sitting right next to a honey bee that was just out in the open and found I didn't even bat an eyelash. So thanks for helping my heart catch up to my brain. They really are amazing little creatures.
NoahofWill same now when I see bees in my backyard on the little plants and flowers, I record them instead of running away from them
This is why I like your videos Jeff. Most of the time, folks who are impatient would simply go in there with a bee vacuum and call it a day; Always in a hurry. But you my friend understand the importance of making a connection with the bees. I get you! Thanks as always for foolin' around in front of the camera. Keep 'em coming brother!! 🐝☮️☯️
Tim, bee vacs are quick & easy but don’t make for good commentary/bee videos. Thanks for your long time support/feedback, much appreciated! ✌️🐝
Just seeing this guy sit there and calmly sift through a hive of wild bees without any gear on, barehanded...it’s amazing.
JP! First, no one does it like you. You are the gold standard (or perhaps i should say, honey-gold standard) for all beekeeping videos.
Second, i found myself shouting at the screen several times during this video. Some of the shouts?
"No, JP! Don't eat that honey! There were cockroaches in there!"
"But JP! You can't walk away now! The bees in the box will think they're a split and they won't love the old queen anymore!"
"Oh JP - you need to hydrate. You're exhausting yourself."
"I see her! JP! Hold that comb over the box in case she falls off!"
I was enthralled. Every single second, i was enthralled. And hubby enjoyed it too!
Wonderful, wonderful video (as always).
Thanks, JP. You're one in a billion.
estreya ✌️👍😘🐝
JP just started watching. You are wonderful, positive energy love watching bee videos! You are the kindest, caring to me. It's a form of meditation for me. Love your videos. thank you for caring for our world we live in.❣
Mona Piper 😘✌️👍🐝
Thank you JPthebeeman. I very much enjoy your videos. I like it when you dance when you’re working. You’ve got a great way of explaining things to your audience. The thorough job you do is fantastic to watch. Thank you x
You truly care about the bees. Being careful not to squish any and such. Great stuff.
Just wish I could keep bees again, used to do a little of what you do, I would collect the swarms and give them to my friends who had bees. But now all we have here is Africanized bees here in southeastern Arizona, unless you have an area out away from all people to keep the people safe. Maybe some day I will be able to move to an area that I can have them. One more thing, thank you for what you do as far as saving the bees because we need all we can get.
James Malott yes, I hear Arizona is just loaded with AHBs but is it state wide or are there areas that don’t have them? Hope you get another opportunity to enjoy them again. ✌️🐝
Yay another video 🤗 and it's a long one!!!! 🥳. Thank you yet again for saving the bees 🐝
Good moning
You turn these difficult, dirty, and thankless jobs into rewarding adventures. Bravo.
it is so heart warming to see somebody working with the love and kindness you have and show toward what i consider to be the most amazing creatures on earth. Bees. Mankind has not realized that without them, we would be gone as a race in less than 5 years. I LOVE, ABSOLUTELY LOVE your videos. I just found them, and have been feasting on them. Love it. BRAVO.
This took an incredible amount of patience! Glad you could be there for this customer.
This is a stubborn Queen. Very interesting vlog. I’m anxious to start bee keeping. I’m up north and waiting on spring. Thanks for sharing your knowledge JP
You have to be one of the most patient person I have ever seen. It took all of my patients to just wait for you to find the queen!🤣 She was a royal stubborn gal! Her workers were true blue loyal! Bees and trees, we absolutely need to survive,
Love your videos JP! I just wish there were more. LOL like you aren't already working your butt off 😜 right. I just find the gentleness with which you treat each individual hive so awesome. Save the 🐝's brother. Bless your 💓
I love it when they start marching into your boxes. Your nucs and boxes have the kind of scent/feel to the bees like that perfect house or apartment does, where you take a step inside, and even if it's empty or a fixer upper, you know you're home~
Think I've watched every one of your video's now you are quite amazing at what you do with the bee's, I've started re-watching video's now, love your humor, and your work, awesome to watch you. Thank you for sharing your world and work with the world.
There's always going to be a bad apple out of the bunch commenting on something They don't like. You're doing a good job rescuing bees.
These Bees are very important to life itself, so Thank You, for doing what you do, JP!!!
I love how patient & cooperative you are with the bees.
Hard not to enjoy your videos you are always so chill when you are doing your thing . JP saves another bee colony 😊 .
My hubby just said.....you’re getting obsessed! Oh yeah. Love the way you deal with them JP, Bee kind 😊
Bees are a good obsession. 😉✌️👍🐝
Loved this one. Very interesting how you moved them into the box and waiting for the queen to show herself over a period of several days. Finally found her all brown and everything.
He loves bees. Respects them. I’m just tickled pink how he doesn’t use a bee costume. Great job my man!
I was always scared of bees as a child. Now, after watching your videos, I'm just fascinated with watching them "march". Thanks for all you do with the bees and sharing it with us. :)
Love watching bees in your area (so gentle) instead of the Africanized bees we have here in Arizona. I wanted to be a bee keeper till I got stung by bees in my front yard simple as I walked passed them. They were guarding my pond (no hive involved) and I never allergic. I had to get rid of my pond and my dreams of bee keeping.
I love your videos, and of course I love the bees! I learn so much from watching your channel, I would love to be a beekeeper. Unfortunately, my husband is allergic, so I can only dream about it. Anyway, I can still learn and enjoy your videos 🐝💕
Tanny M. I know there’s likely a little joke in there somewhere about your husband being allergic & you keeping bees right? Something along the lines like he better be nice or... 😉🐝🐝🐝
@@JPthebeeman I'll remember that if he's ever mean 😄😄😄 Btw, his name is JP too! 😋
I love how gentle you are with the bees and the way you work with them and their nature.
Hey again, JP! When you were talking about subscribers, I went and researched. I've been watching your channel since 14 May 2010. Where did the time go?? I never get tired of watching what you do, and I doubt I ever will. Even though this was a toughie with the Camouflaged Queen, I especially love your long and involved videos. Keep on keeping on.
Wulferious ✌️👍🤘🐝
She's so pretty! I'm really glad you were able to find her. What an absolutely gorgeous queen!
All other beekeepers on RUclips: lemme suit up first those stings hurt.
JP: let’s jump on in here.
Your the best JP.
Omg this video is amazing. So many bees. Never seen you have so much trouble to find the queen she was a beautiful one!!! Great job honey was looking so good there. I really did enjoy this video. Thank you for sharing with us JP.
Of all the contortions you have to twist yourself into to get at some hives, this has to be one of the easiest and most comfortable to work on. Once you cut out the plywood, you might as well have been working on the kitchen table. Once again, great job.
I’ve been watching these videos for weeks and getting my thoughts together on learning how to do this. And then in this video he says, “where there are bees (or honey) there are roaches” or something like that. I’m out! Lol All it took!! Where there are roaches, there isn’t me! 😂
I could watch that March all day long, even when they're marching the wrong way. Lol
I can watch JP framing comb and bees marching into a setup all day.
Jp puts on his glasses.....
QUEEN CAGE MODE ACTIVATED
😉👍🐝
Your bee shows are very relaxing and your nice voice makes your bee show better than the others!
That queen sure gave you a run for your money! I was wondering if she would be found. Love your content, and have a BEEuriful day.
I have watched every video you have posted. This one has been the most interesting to me. Reminds me of my frustration as a beekeeper back when I was physically able to keep bees.
JP , I appreciate the knowledge you have about bees and how you treat them. Excellent videos. Thank you
I’m obsessed with these bee videos. So relaxing to watch.
I enjoyed it immensely. Sneaky little lady, but you finally caged her. Very dark in color too. Thank you JP for the video. I'm happy now that I have my JP fix.
Your so gentle with the 🐝 JP your knowledge is great and I respect how you let us know in lay man's terms a credit to you JP your no one BEE man greetings from Ireland
Your narration is great, you do a very good job of explaining what you are going to do and why so we can understand easily. Thank You and keep up the great videos.
I never knew how fascinating watching bees could be!! I have a friend in Lafayette and you talk like her husband...lol I am from Kentucky and I LOVE watching these videos!!
What a great demonstration for some many things: smoke, repellant, lure, patience! Great job, JP! Also your connection with DirtRooster is how I found out about you.
I love your love of bees! Your videos make my heart happy! Thank you for educating us and taking us on this amazing ride!
I’ve seen close to all of your videos and can’t still believe how easy you can spot a queen bee.
I appreciate the respect you have for the bees and the homeowners property. Well done as usual
Thanks for the videos!!!!! I really enjoy the way you work with those nice workers.
Let me tell you something, I usually like videos but not subscribe to any channel, but yours is good man!!!!! Keep the good work dude!!!
Bees are the #1 MOST IMPORTANT living being on the Earth. 90% of the bees are gone. If we lose the bees we will only have 4 years to live. I'm so happy to see you doing this. I want to have a hive, but the old folks village is just across the driveway and the manager has told me they will likely not like the idea because they are afraid of being stung. I saw a flower pot hive on another channel and so I think I'll try that.
I have a garden, but I don't see many bees around. I'm planting more and more flowers for the bees. Wish me luck. I hope it all works.
Fascinating, great to see, and because this one was more challenging made it even more interesting. Great to see your skills and knowledge and patience.
Oh wow, this is exactly what happened to my Dad's shed out back! We had to call a bee person and cut out the floor. Same type of foundation as this shed too.
I love the sound the bees make when he shakes them on the box. I’ve come to enjoy the sound of the buzzing as well. Thank you for this video I find it so so interesting.
I've peered at the screen dumbly many times when you do your close-up and say "Here she is folks! Right there!" . So it was good to see the magic fail an expert. I feel the world is on an even keel. No-one should be able to quickly pick one bee out of tens of thousands every time!
Thanks for sharing JP!! Excellent video and test of patience. What a bee utiful queen. Those dark ones are quite difficult to spot on the run. Found one this year from a cutout. Thanks for sharing @JP!
The only thing I can point out or suggest to you is there was some pixelated footage in some parts of the video. Might just be on my end too. Otherwise it was 110%. Cheers -TG
TG’s Bees think that was on your end, perhaps it was a roaming issue. ✌️🐝
Hello JP I have watched your videos for years, that was a great job of catching the queen, that was a great video on having patients on how to catch a very shy queen,I started bee keeping because of your videos. keep the videos comeing. thank you
Hey there Bee man... Great to see you and your budbees saving and respecting the bee's,I've learned so much from your video's, l wish you and yours all the best in this crazy world... And a merry Christmas!
And thank you again!
To you & yours as well! 👍🐝
Love JP. This stuff is so much better than any network programming except the Outdoor Channel ! If you have Bees call JP so he can make another video. Let’s run all the networks out of business.
Well done, JP. They look like really nice bees, too, very quiet on the comb and gentle. May they prosper in your care. :)
Awesome content and thank you for considering us(Viewers)! Your personality and technique has always been excellent so don't change or overstress,we'd just can't get enough of our favorite Beeman J.P. ! I'm positive you could build your own Brand out of this. I've watched so many beginners either copy you or give credit to them starting/technique to you in their videos. Across Age,Class,Race,etc.. . You've really inspired thousands of people. Little pre-Congratulations on 100 thousand Sub's!
Thank you my friend, seriously appreciate the support. 👍🐝
y.rs....
I've never seen a bee march before. That was incredible! Love your work JP
There is something about the honey bee community, the people who keep the bees (for the most part) are the best group of people.
I really enjoy watching you catching bees you explain as you go and I'm like you watching those bees marching in never gets old pretty amazing
Thanks for the vids JP. I have good friend who has had a hive put on his 5 acre property here in the Southern Highlands of NSW Australia. I am going to get him to connect to your videos too so he can learn from what you do.
Keep up the great work mate!!!
Thank you JP for another awesome, amazing video! You have to be the most patient man ever!!!
Love the marches for sure! But you sir amaze me when amongst the bees!
I’m trying to open a Apiary and you’re videos are always filled with lots of knowledge, thank you.
Great work Jeff, a true ambassodor for our profession, and you have a sweet spot for the girls.
What do you mean, "No biscuits necessary?" Surely you jest! ;>))
Love to watch you do what you do. Wish we had bees here like you do so I could do what you do!
Awesome start to my Monday morning ❣️ Woke up let the dogs out to a refreshingly cool 72° reprieve from the FL sweltering heat😁 grabbed my coffee to enjoy it on the front porch, low & 🐝 BEEHOLD (Bonus Scored) there's THE VIDEO Icing on the cake👏👏👏 👏 Thanks so much JP! It's the simple pleasures that's the greatest of all❣️ High ✋ everyone, Have a great day 💕🙏☮️✌️
Weather’s beginning to change, I like it! Thank you for your feedback, have a wonderful day. ✌️🐝
Most southern ladies are stubborn. I so enjoy watching the videos
I love watching the bees marching in the hive! The only way I can think of to keep the bees out from under the building is to put stainless steel screen all around it and below the ground. It must be very tight! Bees can get in some very small hole!
You can also use gravel, a bit easier albeit possibly more expensive.
@@JPthebeeman Gravel can block air flow! This will hold moisture under the building and make the wood rot out faster. Also unless you made sure that there is No space at all the bees get in they don't need a very big space to get in! I am not a bee keeper but have seen thing get in very small spaces. You may be right, you know more about the bees than I do. But if you put Gravel you could just put dirt. It cost less.
@@donaldsmith3048 really depends on the geographical location. Here in the south, what you mentioned in regards to airflow indeed applies.
@@JPthebeeman I am in Florida and it really matters! And we have a lot of bees here and I have seen where they have gotten in some very small holes! I asked if I could have bees but in the city they will not let me. But if I could I only need to put a hive box out in the spring with some used frames or something to get them to go in. With in 3 blocks of my house there has been 2 houses had bees get in them. I have a rain barrel and last summer I had bees come to get water from it. The water was overflowing and it made a flat place that they could land on and walk to the edge of water because it was not level. They loved it and when we did get rain and it dried up I would add water to make sure that they had water.I walked in the middle of them and didn't care! I got where it was normal for me to stand in the middle of where they were flying around and got used to them flying around me. Not one sting. All they wanted was water and they had nothing to defend!
@@donaldsmith3048 yep, foraging bees are not interested in stinging anyone unless a robbing frenzy ensues then they can become aggressive.
Certain times of the year are ripe for robbing, almost always during a dearth.
I’ve had people say they were stung by bees getting water from their pool but I’m very suspicious the bees stung them without any provocation on their part, like swatting or stepping on them accidentally.
I wouldn't be able to be near all those bee's😳enjoy watching your video's👍
you sure do a good job of documenting and filming of your removales...really enjoy them........thank you.
You treat those girls the way they want to be treated and they will be nice to you as well. How funny it all is, never would have thought they could be handled. Have a great day
You have a great day as well! 👍✌️🐝
No better time to watch your videos than 130am lol. Woke up just for this.
And I stayed up late to upload it just for you! ✌️😘🐝
I really enjoy watching your videos. Very interesting and enjoyable. Thank you very much. Take Care an Always Be Safe. Good Luck in your upcoming videos.
You are so fun, educational and just plain chill while you rescue the bees in awkward places. I think I your really The Bee Whisperer, 😂🤣💞
Quite the process but you got them all! Extremely therapeutic to watch!
I cracked up when you started singing under your breath "We will we will get ya" ..... by Queen.
Wow! I could watch you for hours!
Thank you for your tutorials explaining things along the way.
Waiting anxiously for the next one! 🥀🐝
You are a master on cut-outs! I would love to see you do some pest control and some inspections.
Love your videos. It's amazing how you rarely get stung compared to the other knuckleheads I've seen doing removals. 🐝🐝🐝🐝
The bean March has got to be the most spectacular thing done by man and God together
Congratulations on the 100K JP!!
Amy Worth thank you! ✌️🐝
Thank u fir preserving the bees the world needs them ❤️❤️❤️
Those were the most relaxed bees I’ve ever seen!
Your channel has got me intrested in bees, and i like it especially when you show us the queen bee! Your really professional the way you do your job. Xx
Easy to see you love your job.! What do you charge for a cut out like this.? Love your videos.!!!
Thanks to my wonderful RUclips subscribers I am now able to do certain jobs for much much less than most competitors who charge.
GOD BLESS YOU ,I will watch your videos but I would never do this, I can't believe you will, your and Angel right out of God's heart, thank you J P..
Good video. I'm glad you got the bees. I am wondering why you tried to get them to go into the box by themselves, instead of just vacuuming them up? Wouldn't vacuuming them up have been a lot faster and easier? Just wondering. I like when you show most of the comb removal, instead of just a before and after. I also like that you showed the comb being framed. So it was a good video, and I don't at all mind that it was a little longer. 👍
I've been watching every episode of your bee whisper videos and this one, boy that queen was very stubborn and hard to see too. I love these videos keep them coming please. I love to see bees survive even though I'm allergic to the bee stings. I love honey to. Ok well have a great day. 😎🇺🇸🌴👍 FLORIDA.
Hello JP, came over here from watching Dirt Rooster, Mr Ed, and Yappy’s channels. I enjoy all of their channels and have learned a lot about bees from watching them the last few weeks. They are all enjoyable to watch, especially when they get together. They seem to have a lot of fun picking at one another.
They all do a great job teaching others about bees and beekeeping. I have watched a few of your videos today and just subbed to your channel too. You do a really good job with your videos and I appreciate all of you doing what you do. My name is Rick and I am in NE Alabama. Just curious but where are you located? Thanks again JP!!! Catch you on the next video.
I’m ten miles west of New Orleans Rick.
Recently found your channel and I'm hooked, but I have to know something. you wear no protective gear so how do you know your not gonna inspect a hive and they're not going to be killer bees and swarm all over you as soon as you take a peek at them?
michael crow aggressive bees almost always give you warnings well before you get next to their hive. They will bump into you or buzz around you showing you their displeasure.
I’m assuming it’s the same or even worse (warnings) with AHBs albeit I’ve never dealt with them that I know of.
wow your are so gentle and calm, I enoy watching. thanks have a good one
Enjoy all the information you provide about bees. Just fascinating.
