Thank you for such a powerful sermon. Truth from God is always SO powerful, and I’ve wondered since I was a young girl so many years ago why our church didn’t stand up for the life of the unborn. I remember arguing in favor of life with my religion teacher in an SDA academy in the mid 1970’s, and I have wondered why we (as a church) are so spineless on certain moral issues, such as abortion. Thank you for showing how important it is to vote for right on issues and not to just follow a political party. 🙏🏻

SDAs who agree with this may find themselves just as maligned and slandered later themselves. Be careful to not propagate false witness. Those protestors are political prisoners with no rights and treated atrociously while rioters who murdered and destroyed are free and not pursued. The ones who were shot upon and some killed were the lawful protestors like Ashley Babbit.

For money we are more than willing to let go of morals and our church is just as guilty as any group of people. If we are going to stand up for right it is high time we address our own guilt in the murder of thousands of babies every year. As Israel of long ago needed to repent and return to God so do we. I love my church but I have to wonder where is has gone to. Like C D Brooks said in one of his sermons, "I want my Church BACK."

One of the greatest sermon in history as it points out one of the greatest modern deception designed to keep Christian silent so evil reign. It is high time for us to stop accepting outcome and put our effort and energy in creating the outcome God desires. We should strive to create an environment that makes it easier for people to choose God over evil. As we as Christians stand up against evil in support of freedom and righteousness then the sinner will have the clear example and know who loves them.
Siding with popular points of view is not courage nor love. Wonder why hopeless reign? It is because God has been pushed out of the public square. This nation is the greatest in the history of nations and we should never keep silent and allow the sword of God to fall on it.

ARE NOT BOTH SIDES of USA POLITICS INVOLVED IN EUROPE AND UKRAINE
UKRAINE is a CIVIL WAR brother vs brother
like USA and what did EGW SAY ? UNRIGHTIOUS WAR
I was shown the dreadful state of our nation, and again was referred to (Isaiah 58; 59:1-15), as a description of the present state of things in our nation, and the reason for their present calamity. This is a most unrighteous war. The inhabitants of the earth have forgotten God. They have trampled upon His law and broken the everlasting covenant. They have despised His Sabbath. The fourth commandment was shown me as a golden link, which God designed should serve as a bond of union uniting man to man, and connecting earth to heaven and finite man to the infinite God.
so clearly yes the PROPHET DID SHINE LIGHT ON THE SOCIAL ISSUES
but who was behind the war and Ukraine war ? WHO GIANS POWER FROM THE WARS
GOD clearly by EGW the prophets shows that LUCIFER was allowed due to people breaking GODS LAW

Very powerful message Pastor Kelly. I don’t believe that abortion is a civil right in any circumstance. If God allows a pregnancy then He has a plan for that life. He knit that baby in the womb and He has plans to make that baby prosper and to do good for that baby and He can work good out of evil. SDA’s should reject abortion for any reason. Often doctors are wrong. It is God who chooses to let live or die not man.

This sermon is disgusting in about half a dozen ways.
The majority of the comments I’ve read so far are by people who actually “like” this kind of a sermon so I doubt I’ll get any requests to be more specific about how it is disgusting. In fact, I doubt that any of the people whose comments I’ve read so far will even read this next sentence: I would consider a sermon to be just as disgusting if a pastor were to urge his congregation to vote for a policy of using taxes to promote paganism (in public schools, for example), to vote for a policy of legislating progressive ethics or to vote for a policy of government entities or agencies enforcing the kinds of prohibitions that are advocated by the priests it the new ostensibly “secular” version of paganism.
In the twenty-first century, many Christians are wringing their hands over the decline in numbers of people who are attending worship service services.
What my wife and I celebrate on Independence Day is not so much a place as an idea - the idea that we don’t need monarchs or aristocrats or clergy to tell us what to believe or what to do or not do. Why on Earth would we invite someone to attend a worship service where the pastor (or anyone else) is there to tell us what to believe or what to do??!!!
P.S. The word, “pagan”, was used as a pejorative for several centuries so, if you aren’t sure what paganism is, please consult some dictionaries or encyclopedias.

In regard to the previous sermon which Pastor Kelly referenced: For those who, claiming Christ, refused the vaccine for anything other than actual medical problems, and trying to claim a religious exemption of which there is none, there is a problem. (I personally know that many of these who requested exemption from the religious Liberty Depart. based their requests on the verse that says " your body is the temple of God" or on the basis of some rumor circulating online. If we love and follow Christ, then as was pointed out in the children's sermon at our church this morning, when we are not willing to, maybe, put ourselves in harm's way for others, then we are not following Christ but love of self. Further, condemning a business which is willing to take a hit to their business to keep others safer shows a lack of moral aptitude. Also, this is not the first quarantine instituted in the USA or history. In fact, God Himself, set health standards and standards of quarantines. My granddaughter was disanointed with JD 1 2 months into the pandemic. The incidence of newly diagnosed JD1 greatly increased since the beginning of the pandemic and doctors believe there is a connection. Did she have a nonsymptomatic case before her school went online. We'll only know, maybe, in heaven. Mistakes were made during the pandemic, but were not generally for those who, claiming Christ, refused the vaccine for anything other than actual medical problems, and trying to claim a religious exemption of which there is none, there is a problem. If we love and follow Christ, then as was pointed out in the sermon this morning, when we are not willing to, maybe, put ourselves in harm's way for others, then we are not following Christ but love of self. Further, condemning a business which is willing to take a hit to their business to keep others safer shows a lack of moral aptitude.

I want to start by clearly stateing that l am not and l will never be pro-abortion. I will always be pro life, commandments of God and freedomof conscience. However the issue in the sermon is way more complex than standing up and be a voice to the unborn which is laudable. The fact that you won't do an abortion because it's illegal it doesn't make us a more moral society or nation. If you could you would it already makes you guilty of it even if you haven't committed it. There has to be a middle ground where God's commandments can be upheld without the freedom of conscience being trampled on. When we find an excuse( However holy that might be) to trample on the freedom of conscience we only create room for other "holy" situations that alow us to do that in the name of God.
I think the middle ground is the informed consent. It is what God gave us the chance to. We get to experience both good and evil and are free to choose what we want to follow. For this freedom many innocents paid a price throughout the history of humanity. And yet God has been allowing it for the sake of an informed consent of being with Him for eternity. He wants a choice out of love and not fear.

Can you make it clear what you mean with informed consent? Sorry I can't understand your point. Thank you

While I agree with much of your post, I believe the middle ground comes from abortion being a much more complicated question that has medical elements I can't know. I believe it is personal because I don't know all the factors. Pregnancy is a complicated condition. A fetus (before viability) has always been and always will be dependent on its mother for life. This is different than slavery. The condition of a slave was not natural dependant on the owner.
This is a very personal moral choice and I cannot in good conscience be the person who makes this choice for someone else.
All this said I am against abortion once a fetus is viable unless there are condition not comparable with life. We live in a day and age where we can provide successful medical care for much younger premees than previous.

@@bemnetmeried4121 By just voting to make this issue illegal, we are only choosing the lesser evil if that's the only choice we have without considering the freedom of conscience. Just because it's illegal it doesn't mean abortions won't happen going forward. There is just going to be a black market for it. You might save the life of some innocent children on the expense of the life of women that will still make that choice for whatever reason. I grew up in a communist country where contraception and abortion were illegal. I can tell you horror stories about the consequences of that. It still doesn't make me pro-abortion. What l mean by informed consent ( probablynot the best choice of words, english is my 4th language as you can tell by my spelling) is that we would rather have a system where these women are informed about both the earthly and eternal consequences of their choice to take a life which belongs to God. This way when they understand the measure of the their transgression it won't be such an easy decision to take a life. And even if they chose abortion their conscience will bear witness to that and down the road as l know many cases they will repent and be closer to God than if they haven't ever committed that sin. I still think this should be a moral issue between them and God( after being informedof the consequences) and not a legal issue streaming from a civil right or not.
I heard that some exceptional cases could be excepted from the law and considered legal. Just because there are going to be legal exceptions it won't make it moral or right with God and they could still loose their souls. Hard to put in words all the little nuances of this issue, l hope it makes my point clearer though.

Alina, no one anywhere has said MEDICAL reasons are wrong. NO ONE ANYWHERE........ BUT those who use abortion for birth control (which is about 90% or more of abortions) is murder. The one thing people are afraid to say is: The cause of pregnancy is a choice. SEX is the cause, it is a choice. Sadly you'll now say "a raped woman didn't choose". AGAIN NO ONE anywhere has said a woman must carry the child produced from rape. --- though God would likely see the precious life of the child and hope the woman would see it's life as precious too.

Since the issue of abortion is about much more than he is saying, I have a hard time giving him credibility. I changed my mind on this issue when, I believe it was the early 80s, a pregnant woman was in an accident and the result was the doctors told the husband (they had two children) that they could save either the baby or the mother but not both and could not guarantee the baby would actually survive. A pro-life group sued to have the courts decide. At that time, I decided that others should not decide a person's life for them, that this was God's business and then in the end God would be the judge. The politicians have and some persons of faith have decided that they have the right to make the decisions and have gone so far as to endanger women's lives for an as yet unborn group of cells which might never become a person. We will not know until heaven if abortion is a sin, we only know that God knows in advance who will live. We only have David's words which express David's belief that the Lord knew Him before he was born and Jeremiah who speaks of God choosing him to be a prophet before he was born. But we have no evidence that He knows all who were not born for surely you must be born to have a purpose. I do not suppose elective abortion after 20 weeks. But even more, this forces a certain Christian viewpoint on non-Christians and God himself gives all free choice.

It’s hard for me to think that you’re even a Christian at all!! (No offense intended) You doubt Gods word as the opinions of those you disagree with on political issues?? That group of cells you speak of is a human being. Now I’m not saying that the courts should have made that decision, but I believe the Pastor was clear when he said, and I agree, that the exceptions to the rule should be worked out in legislation (ie.. incestual rape, life of the mother and child at stake, etc..)
And if you don’t believe God’s word, in its entirety, because it was penned by men, believe the words God wrote with His own finger. Thou Shalt Not Kill!!!!

"We will not know until heaven if abortion is a sin, " The Adventist Church in section (3) of their official position says that abortion is a violation of the sixth commandment, are you saying the Church is wrong?
