What sucks is that the original belts had completely different side plates. 12 different side plates. Apparently Rude was buried with the one he kept so it's impossible to get an accurate set.
I started watching Mid-Atlantic & World-Wide Championship Wrestling faithfully at the age of 7 in 1978. My dad and I went to the matches EVERY Monday night at the Greenville Memorial Auditorium for 10 yrs. These tag titles were hands down my favorites ever. Equal is my love for the gold U.S. title shaped like the US w/ the black strap.
The so called 25th anniversary belts were the same belts. They had Reggie replate and releather them in 1986. This is from Manny's belt. Rick Rude's belt had 6 different sideplates: Africa, Australia, France, Japan, Mexico, and USA.
The so called 25th anniversary set (don't know where they come with that as Crockett's world tag team title only dates back to 1975) were the same belts as the all Gold pair. In late 1986 they were sent to Reggie Parks to be replated and releathered. Crockett got them back just in time for Ricky & Robert to defend them at Starrcade 86.
I agree I love these belts. when rock and roll won these I have spent the last 35 to 40 yrs trying to have them in my collection. if maybe I could get the info of who made them I love to have a set. thanks
Do you know why I luked the originals ? They were gold plated and looked expensive . I just wish the World Tag Champions would have traveled too . I looked like it would be what the world champs deserved .
hi tim,i have watched this video several times,i have noticed that these belts don't say nwa on them, the cast copy of the nwa united states title belt does not have nwa on it either, the wwwf heavyweight title belt cast copy has wwwf on it.
Those are the first NWA Tag belts I ever saw. Very nice.
Those tag team belts are the classic
Agreed. Probably my favorite version.
Got to love the simple but beautiful styles of the old straps 👍🏽

Awesome belts! Just like you said, these two belts got me interested in all the different titles! Good childhood memories!
Simply gorgeous looking belts, great review.

Love it.......alot of blood spilt for that gold..., thats for sure!!!
Always liked those belts too. Always thought they were beautiful. Iwa adopted that style for the heavyweight and tagteam belts.
Belts By Dan makes the current NWA tags like this, and Classic Shields makes a pretty nice replica as well.
Looks like they're back again
Beautiful belts ❤

If Fandu got ahold of these, they would make them as thick as the Backlund belt which is 2nd to none!!!
Love these belts ❤️
They look similar to the Backlund belt.
well,at least they're better looking than those WWE red & blue tag team belts.
Where these belts ever defended in any of those countries?
