    I just found your tea and toastmas and love it! Good luck with the knitting… If it doesn’t come back to you easily, I would suggest using a scrap yarn to cast on and practice a little before you start the project. I also loved Very Pink Knits on RUclips for tutorials. Good luck! I can’t wait to see your scarf.

    I was on zoloft .. not sure how long.. 1 yr? year and a half? I needed it because of all of my health issues. I was on a 50mg dosage. When I decided to quit because I felt I was far enough past my illnesses, I went from 50 to 25.. But took 25mg for a month. Then I halved that for a month too. So clearing them out of my system went fairly well because I went slowly. I found I really no longer needed the medication (will definitely take again if needed). and found my creativity came back.

    I feel the exact way about crochet that you do about knitting 😝 Your crochet scarf is gorgeous, I love that stitch! And you're so right, it'd be helpful if the medication part of mental health was discussed more. I'm on anti anxiety meds for my IBS, and when I say it's been life changing for my gut and my mind, it's not hyperbole. Our bodies sometimes need some help, and how amazing us it that we live in a time with medications that can do just that! I'm so sorry you had that awful panic episode, glad you found your current sweet spot. The fact that you're listening to yourself and are questioning what you need and what works for you or doesn't shows such self awareness 💓

    I am always knitting when I watch you so it was hard to see you struggle! May I suggest that you take floss or some sort of string and place it within your row, it's called a lifeline and it allows you to take it off the needles, tear back and have live stitches held to place back onto the needles. If you are able to knit in a circle that may be an easier way to just knit a tube and add tassels to your bind off to close it. Knitting takes practice, an expert was once a beginner. ;)

    A knitting tip that helped me so much was to learn about the anatomy or how knitting sits on the needle…it has helped in fixing mistakes and getting stitches back on needles…that and practice practice practice is what makes you familiar. Roxanne Richardsons RUclips videos are great helpers!

    Love tnis! I'm an avid knitter and thrifter. Crochet a little. Your sweaters look hand knit. I've battled anxiety and panic attacks in the past until therapist recommended escitalopram which brought immediate relief for me. When I tried to come off this year, I had panic attack the 6th night. I'm now on low dose of 5mg every other night. I hope you continue to find your best solution. As you said, everyone benefits! The knitting will come or not. Anything creative is wonderful!

    Erin, if you want to "knit so bad" then go for it. It is just like any other new skill, takes some time, patience, and practice. That extra stitch you ended up with is the most common mistake in beginning knitting. Can't explain it to you but it will be a tremendous help to you to find someone in your area who is an experienced knitter and would be willing to sit and help you out. Learning to correct your mistakes is ESSENTIAL to becoming a good knitter who will stick with it and keep trying new techniques. Do you have a local yarn store near you? They always have knit nights where you gather with other knitters and they love to help you. I am enjoying your podcast. I live in Utah in the US but my ancestors helped to settle Hawkesbury in Ontario back in 1817. Such beautiful country. RUclips is also a great source for knitting tutorials. Check them out. I saw that Sandy By the Lakeside (who is also in Ontario) commented here and suggested trying Very Pink Knits tutorials. They are great. Good Luck with your knitting, Once you get going it will bring you such great joy and it is very therapeutic.

      Haha! Yeah, it has been determined that I need a knitting mentor near me and our local yarn shop doesn’t have a knitting circle, sadly.
      I actually have knit a little sweater vest and many scarves, I just find crochet calming and makes so much more sense for some reason.
      I won’t ever stop trying to grasp it though. Thank you for the tips!

    Hi. I left a comment on your last video about tapering down slowly. If I may ask. On what anti depressant are you? I am on Lexapro and I was for a long time on 10 mg. When I started to wean myself off I ask my doctor for two tablets of 5 mg. So I could cut one in half and I was able to take a little over 7 milligrams and now I am down to 5. I wait a few weeks between them. Now I have hardly any withdrawal symptoms. Hope this helps.

    • @the.ellemars
      @the.ellemars  Месяц назад

      Yes! Thank you for that. I’m on Citalopram. Not sure they come in 10mg tablets or maybe my pharmacy doesn’t have them because no matter what dose I’m on, they give me 20mg tablets so I have to cut them. Not ideal and I don’t think I could cut it into quarters without it crumbling. But worth looking into for sure. 5mg would be ideal to continue weaning off.
