I Watched this game in 1996 live on NTA Nigeria. I was angry at the daylight robbery cos there was no offside because the Spanish attacker was about 2 feet on side due to an English defender who was keeping him on side by about 2 feet. This highlights shows more of England than Spain. What made me more angry was that Spain totally dominated play with good cohesion and skill and still list to the drab kick and follow English. You can imagine our joy in Nigeria when Germany knocked the overhyped boring team out next game!!!!
If it had been for VAR that time, it would have been a clear win for Spain. One goal that wasn´t offside and one clear penalty not given. Many interferences from the spaniards though.
Increíble. Nos anulan dos goles por fuera de juego inexistente y no nos pitan a favor un penalty clarísimo a Alfonso. Era 1996. Todavía quedaba mucho para que nos tomaran en serio como equipo aspirante.
Alfonso se tira, busca el contacto y se tira. No es penalti. Tarjeta amarilla justa para Alfonso (que por tramposo da muy mala imagen de España). Y hay un penalti a favor de Inglaterra no pitado. Soy española, pero también objetiva. En lo futbolístico nuestros delanteros negados, torpes, lentos, fallones. Los disparos a puerta de Sergi y Hierro también muy flojos.
@@lauramartin-bk9nr Bastante dudoso ese penalty porque la patada va al aire. Eso sí, de los dos goles anulados por fuera de juego no hablas. El de Kiko no era fuera de juego tampoco. Si paras la imagen en el momento exacto del pase se ve que está por detrás del defensa. Además en esa época si el fuera de juego era dudoso se dejaba continuar la jugada. Pero Inglaterra eran los anfitriones y los arbitrajes fueron bastante dudosos.

Pues yo vi este partido en un bar de Atlanta llamado "The Rose and Crown,." Yo y otro chaval eramos los únicos españoles en el sitio y lo pasamos canutas. De todas formas, varios ingleses se dirigieron a mi al final del partido para disculparse del robo a mano armada a cual fue sometida España.
I was a little kid when I watched it live. Spain was far superior to Englad yet the referees new that in case of doubt they knew England wanted it home... Beautiful to see how Spain have evolved but England still play like they used to 28 years ago.
Busca algún vídeo y seguro que alguno paró. No era su fuerte, pero tenía por ejemplo otras cualidades que por ejemplo Casillas no tenía. Recuerdo un penalti que le paro a Pedja Mijatovic.
Alfonso se tira a la piscina, busca engañar al árbitro. Da allí una mala imagen del futbolista español como tramposo. Y penalti a favor de Inglaterra no pitado en el minuto 10:20.
