That looks like a Bach Stradivarius Model 37 Trumpet! I own one and the sound that comes out of it is probably the best out of any of the other professional trumpets out there. They have such a dark and soulful sound to them! Keep it up you sounded GREAT!! I have been playing now for 20 years and would not change that for the world! I play for my local Symphony Orchestra now!
I've been inspired to pull this tune out and give it a blow again after 10 yrs. I remember how hard it was to learn this, and you sound great playing it.
You play very beautifully and are very talented. Being a fellow trumpet player i feel like you are going to go very far with your abilities keep up the good work :D -Adam
What a truly magnificent performance by this young lady! Since I live just 50 miles up the street from Duquesne University, I am somewhat familiar what opportunities lie ahead for a brilliant performer such as she. Ken, thanks for pointing me in this young lady's direction! She is well-worth listening to, and is quite impressive! v/r Denny (a beginner)
beautiful.... the roughness in the tones and changes is great.... I think, it was done by purpose as I am not a trumpet player/expert... very colourful intonation... keep going, lady on the trumpet.... as for me the greatest artist of all time is Miles D. hopefully you find the way into Jazz too.... ;-) All the best....
You did a great job. Rustiques is a pretty difficult piece. And to say that this is sub-par performance for a collegiate trumpeter is not only wrong it's disrespectful. Say what you want @pugsigil but you are pulling these comments from you know where. Why wouldn't you play it on Bb trumpet? It is written for Bb trumpet, it is a more contemporary piece (most contemporary trumpet pieces are written for Bb trumpet), and most importantly, she should play it on whatever sounds the best. kudos Kendra
recently ive been playing around with my embouchure to attempt to reduce the tension in my face, how are you able to go up in tesatura without it seems using much facial muscle while retaining an open oral cavity as your tone implies?
why do people have troll on here? like just leave the girl alone. i feel in order to give criticism you have to respond with a video of you doing better!
Kendra, you play a beautiful sounding Horn, I like the ways you move gracefully and the smooth notes that come out of your mouth are like my loudmouth girlfriend that butters me up and sweet talks me all day long. I give you an A plus for charm, a B plus for beauty and remember a B plus is as good as an A plus. I play the Trumpet and Drums and love every moment of it! My site is in honor of our Native American Indians, it is a non profit, I hope it is okay Treaty.Tv
How do you get such a cut-up and rough sound from a Stradivarius? She got through the piece all right, but her sound is so unrefined, which is odd because she is playing on an instrument designed to eliminate this from her playing. I am just at a loss for words...
Warburton P.E.T.E. Personal Embouchure Training Device is great for strengthening the facial muscles surrounding your mouth. Use it every other day to allow the muscle to recover and never right before practice or performance.
not good, the pitch is high, you are not playing what is written in the text, all difficult places were played with mistakes, all technical places were not made, the problems with upper register, because you played without breath, just on lips, but the worth thing that there were no music in that performance, sorry but if you want respect from colleges do not download such videos on you tube
The pitch of the trumpet was NOT too high. It was slightly below the piano, though hardly anyone would notice. Not pertinent to the performance, but she is a vision of loveliness. She had a few very minor errors in control but certainly did a very good performance for this recital. I enjoyed her performance very much.
It's very easy to sit at your keyboard and attempt to destroy somebody else's performance. Much easier to destroy than to create. Now please post your version so we can all see how it's supposed to sound.
i am not even sure how i got here... but since i did i spent the time to listen. i would like to start out as complimentary as possible - you have the potential to be a very good player. there are times when you have a very pleasant sound. but... yes, you know it was coming... your intonation is not great particularly at the start (wondering if you'd warmed the horn?) the start of nearly every passage is harsh. you need to work on starting a note smoothly with out them popping out. proper support (breath) will accomplish this. you can achieve this by proper adjustment of abdominal muscles. i would HIGHLY suggest finding an ELDER voice coach and taking some LESSONS from them. learning how a vocalist produces sound will greatly append your harsh entries. i truly hope that my taking my precious time to share these things with you will help.

Excelente!!!
It has been very pleasant for me to discover that there Jonhston, Orcutt, Venema, Balsom exist as female trumpet soloists
Very nice, round sound.
Beautiful music making and beautiful fundamentals of wind instrument playing. I could listen to her for days.
I've been inspired to pull this tune out and give it a blow again after 10 yrs.
I remember how hard it was to learn this, and you sound great playing it.
You have come such a long way, Kendra. I could listen to you all day! BRAVO!!!!!!

Muito bom......... uma das poucas pessoas que tocam o trumpet usando as técnicas fundamentais..........
molto bravo

@ratzlp0li I agree. And Kupo, it is most likely a Strad.
lindo..perfeito...
good!!
Very difficult, done very well, congrats
linda tecnica :) dulce sonido :)
If this was performed in a concert hall it would sound a lot better. Cause the acoustic there is.t that great
Not an easy piece. Nice job!
Composer: Eugene Bozza (1905-1991)
bela execução

tone is high school level
@spockslogic1024 I've never heard such a generalisation for quite some time.
why do people have troll on here? like just leave the girl alone. i feel in order to give criticism you have to respond with a video of you doing better!
@mso424 I have one they are amazing.
Exactly what kind of trumpet is she playing?
virtuose indeed
E' eccezionale nel suono..vorrei avere la sua bravura. ma mi accontento
, suono per divertirmi...
AND she's using sheet music?!?
37 or 43?
Push that tuning slide in just a bit and this would be 100% better.
As a trumpet player myself, I noticed that also but I grade her highly.
faily good
What are you talking about?
Kendra, you play a beautiful sounding Horn, I like the ways you move gracefully and the smooth notes that come out of your mouth are like my loudmouth girlfriend that butters me up and sweet talks me all day long. No comment
Nope; I play trumpet and those are all mistakes, what is called "fracking" notes in some circles. As for Miles Davis, yeah, he is that awesome.
If you look that good....
+Dick Carter Well, that's why she combed her eyebrows up all the way to her hair and fixed it with hairspray.
+Ping Pong I like her hair, her gown, her trumpet and her playing. What do you look like and do you have any clips on You Tube of your playing?
I always share all those information with anyone on the net. Because it's so safe.
Don't you think music should be Just heard rather than Severely judged? Music was made to be enjoyed
It was my failed attempt at wit as if to say playing a Bach is a terrible choice but nobody's perfect.
@KupoChan123 looks like a strad. idk. could be wrong. just goin off looks

youtube( felicesciusciammocca) very good from ( rome)

It's not like the trumpets a very unforgiving instrument... Give her some credit.

Trumpet fail Technik fail

This is completely mediocre, and pretty sub-par for an upperclassmen lvl collegiate recital. And why, oh why on earth would you play this on a Bb?
...crap
Very nice.
