I'm Dauns sister and I'm so happy to know you are so happy with the Riviera! That was my dads pride and joy and I can see that it will continue on to be your wife's (and yours) also!! This makes me smile! It's beautiful and runs great. I hate to see it go but happy it's going with you too it's new home!!! Thank you so much for taking that chance sight unseen!!!! Enjoy, she's a beaut!!!!
Thank you ! He is a great car ! Your Dad definitely knew what he was doing. Stay tuned to the channel! Ordered a bunch of stuff today to get her back to roadworthy and lots more to come ! Thank you
I left the comment before I was done with the video because I was so excited! The fact that she named him Bobby has brought me to tears everytime!!! I cannot thank you enough. Tell your wife how much I appreciate her!! I subscribed to your channel too! I'm interested to see what that DeLorean ends up looking like!! Thank you so much!
@@timelesssteelgarage good thing Daun behaved because she can get completely out of hand sometimes! Just kidding, I'm the brat baby sister and she's the poster child for a perfect sister!
I have owned a couple of first gen. Rivieras and feel there were WAY ahead of their time. I don’t think I have ever seen one with a red interior and it is absolutely gorgeous. What a great find.
love that model = in Australia - only seen 2 of these and 1 was RH Drive - love love love 425 dual quads ! thank you for showing us ! way down under - melbourne vic . i spy a SUBARU = yes i have a my 2001 SF5 Forester GT Turbo STI swapped EJ207 RA Spec C = is my bag ! Great Video !
The crossbreed when a Cadillac met a Chevelle, beautiful, i worked with a millwright that owned a few over the years, those years were the nicest styling imo
Wow… nice find. Cool that you could actually drive it most of the way home… My wife wouldn’t know how to act if We went to get a car that she could actually drive home!! Hopefully we are still going to see videos on the 65 resurrection??
Sweet new ride! I think correct me if I'm wrong but the '64 and '66 Rivieras came standard with a 425 Nailhead. Also the transmission is not a turbo hydromatic 400 , it has a Super Turbine 400 with a switch pitch transmission (dual stall speeds). MPG sounded pretty good, a gear venders unit would be a great addition to get even better mpg out of it. If it has a 3.08:1 rear gear the overdrive in a gear venders would knock that down to a 2.4024:1 final drive. Even if it has the optional 401 Nailhead, it would still have plenty of low end torque to cruise in overdrive with that ratio. You would probably get over 22 mpg on the highway. Speaking of the transmission, '64 was the first year for the ST400 and shifts kind of weird. It's a 3 speed but only has two shift positions. This was a 1 year only transmission, they changed them after this year. Oh yeah, it's because if you put it in first gear it will stay there until you shift. A lot of those baby boomer brats were blowing up their parents cars after they found out it would stay in first gear until it shifted.🙄 To many warranty engine installs. Anyway, take care of your brand new used car because it is something special.👍😎
Thanks ! The transmissions confuse me. I thought 64 came out with 3 speed that shared a turbo 400s architecture? 63 was a 2 speed. 63 and 64 standard 425. 401 introduced in 65.
@@timelesssteelgarage Yes it does share architecture with the th400, the st400 was the high end version of the 2. And yes it is a 3 speed transmission, your car probably only has 2 positions on the gear selector. IIRC if you want to shift manually you start out in L then for second you shift to drive then right back to L and now you're in second then to D for 3rd. I think that's how it was explained to me on v8buick forum way back when about 5 or 6 years ago. You might want to go there to double check what I wrote, a great source of old Buick car knowledge and old part resource for those hard to find parts.
Great purchase and a stunner to look at. I had a 63 and it was a great ride. No way 17 mpg on that beast. I got about 7 city maybe 10 highway on it's best day. Did you know you can take the keys out of the ignition while driving?

1964 and still a stunner! One of GM's best designs ever. Congratulations.
You’re living your best life, bro. You made some great memories. Thank you for sharing.
Wow, She's a real Looker. And got just the right amount of things that need attention without feeling run down.
If I owned a 64 I would do whatever I have to to convert the headlights and grill to the 65 Hideaway setup. The clamshell light covers are so dope.

Haha no
Pretty sure they used a double white wall, one thicker than the other, in '64.
New cars do not have soul!!!
