My stylist told me to layer the water and gel and that worked for me at home. She said SATURATE the section, add the gel, a little more water, and then a little more gel as needed. Changed the game for me and now I only use the botanicals

the thing about brands like innersense and other professional products is you have to use them exactly how your personal curl stylist recommends you to. this is why it worked so well for you here but it didn't work for you at home. and not all innersense products work for everyone's hair, which is why the no butters no oils girlies don't tell you what they use, because you need a stylist to look at your current hair health, know your hair history, your budget etc. and then on top of that the technique you use, the shampoo and conditioner you use first too ALL matter in making your styling products work! goto a stylist if you're interested in expensive products!
Ugh I felt your part at the end about having to incorporate saving for a curly cut. I haven’t worn my hair out recently because I don’t like the shape and I decided to decrease my spending so I can travel to Japan next year. I may have to add the cut back on the spend list 😭.
Your hair come out so nice! That’s the gel combo that I use and I use a spray bottle for the water aspect.

I'm too lazy and scared to ever try anything else with my hair. Just cornrows and box braids for me.
I’m the exact same. Went natural and big chopped in 2019. Set them in mini twists and put those twists in a bun all the way up to the present, and somehow my hair is at the bottom of my ribs.
That being said… that’s all a girl knows 💀 I’m so afraid of trying anything else cause that’s a whole wash day, and if it don’t work out I’d probably just cry, and I’m a grown woman dammit 😭

I have seen and heard horrible things about curly cutting .but I have to watch .
I help my mom with her hair since she doesn't go to the salon anymore and she always gets so amazed how her hair is better after I cut the ends and shape it up. I learned from watching my hairstylist doing mine and youtube. Always use styling scissors if you want to try again at home
