Awesome video! I went to the same high school as RL, and had the privilege of hanging out/riding with him several times in Hermosa Beach (there was a parking lot next to a Taco Bell on the strand just south of the pier) and the skatepark in Santa Monica. Nothing like showing up to ride with RL in his lifted truck.... people expected you to be just as good. I was good, but RL was on another level. He was, and still is, one of the smoothest riders I've ever seen. He made impossible stuff look like child's play. He was also super nice. He took me to the BMXA offices and gave a tour. If I remember correctly, he also sold me one of his trick ramps at cost. Thanks, RL for those moments!
Wow, he makes 360s look easy. It's been at least 32 years since I've pulled one. For the guys who never stopped riding It's like a walk in the the park. Every time I watch you guys ride it makes me feel young again and inspired to keep riding at some level.
Thank you Jason. And glad to hear that as the reason we do these videos is to inspire others to get out there and ride as well! Hope you keep getting back on the bike!
Awesome RL and Dylan. Your progress is so encouraging to watch. You did that 360 effortlessly RL. Dylan lean away from the coping as far as you can when you slam your pegs down. The momentum in your body is carrying you towards the fence every time as the surface is angled, unlike your garage rail which is vert. On the angled surface the bike naturally wants to tilt towards the fence.
Agreed, if Dylan just carves the tranny, almost like the old dogpiss airs (The topside one footer w/his bike vertical that Blyther used to do) each time pushing his bike more towards the coping until his pegs lock on, then his body will be in the right position. Over the ramp and not towards the deck. But it's about getting comfortable and gaining confidence. He'll have them in the next session or two either way. But still such great progression from them both.
Thank you Tim and I will pass that on to Dylan. I agree he has got to lean away and that should help him a lot! Let's see if he listens and does it haha
I’m super proud of you RL.. you have come a long way in a short time! You look like your old self more and more every video! Dylan, you are ready for an abubaca..👏
It's great seeing you back in the sport and having fun with it. That Proframe helmet with the gorilla tape keeping the visor up out of your line of sight made me smile a bit. I've got 2 of those helmets and did the exact same thing to mine about a year ago. It makes a big difference. I keep the visor on since it's something else between my face and the ground to provide protection and it looks better with it. Anyway, keep on doing what you do. Look me up if you're ever planning to be in the Savannah, GA area. I've got a pretty killer backyard mini-halfpipe ramp and a large flat concrete driveway for flatland. We've had some amazing BMX talent pass through here which is always fun. I'd love to ride with you again someday.
Dylan keep more pressure on your left hand on the peg stall/grind. Momentum wants you to leave the ramp so counteract the momentum with left hand pressure
Love all these videos. It’s so awesome to see RL back in action. Dylan, you mentioned plastic pegs-they are easier to do double peg grinds with for sure. Metal pegs sometimes dig in and stick. Plastic is quieter and less “grindy” but they are more consistent and user friendly. You know Albe’s will help you out with some.
Hey Scott appreciate the love man! And yes Albe's has definitely hooked us up with some Plastic Pegs. We were using the Drift by Kink and no were are developing our own with a unique shape to the plastic sleeve
@R L Well that’s one way of doing a 360. And your making it look easy, when you do them that smooth. I’ve not seen Dylan get stuck on learning a trick yet, I’d be interested on seeing on some plastic pegs. Have a great Christmas guy’s.
Thank you Youngs that is very cool of you to say. I want to learn how to do the full spin in the air but figured this was a good start. And yes Dylan progresses very fast it still blows my mind!
@@RLOsbornBMXFreestyle I was pretty close to doing a 360 back in the day. All I remember is carving just a little before coming of the lip with just a little bit more speed than you had for the air time. So your head should start turning as you come of the lip. And as your head turns your torso will follow, just like when your torso turns the legs follow. You were extremely close to doing it fully in the air. With the right placed jump and better clearance for more speed, you’ll have it licked...!!!! You’ll probably do it the second time.
Holy Smokes RL your killin it! You too Dylan. Keep it goin bro! Guys, I’m totally bummed. I’m trying the Peg Stalls and Grinds on the 4 footer just like Dylan. My back tire didnt catch and slid down the ramp. I did the splits while sliding down and tore my Meniscus in my knee and now I’m out for a while. Totally frustrated. Park and ramp riding arent coming to me like Flatland. Discouraged here.
Thank you! We both really appreciate that. And no way man that is such a bummer really sorry to hear that! Dylan definitely got close to doing something similar to that but luckily no splits for him. I highly recomend some pads and maybe a knee sleeve or 2. Dylan tore his meniscus and ACL awhile back and so he always rides with his Old Bones knee sleeve
Damn! I wish I would of known you guys were in Boston, would of loved to meet both of you. Oh, and get that RL autograph I've been wanting since the time he blew me off as a little kid at the Manchester NH AFA contest. Ya broke my heart RL!! haha!
Hey thanks Mark and unfortunately we didnt have a lot of time to socialize as we were there for Cody's graduation but that would have been really cool for sure. And I would be happy to autograph something for ya. No way I blew you guys off that is not something I would do!
You were in Worcester?? OMG!! That sucks!!! I work 5 minutes from Worcester.. Did you guys ride?? I just want to meet RL is that too much to ask!! All my damn friends growing up were Martin fans and I stayed with the best RL!!!
Oh Damn no way! We were pretty busy with Cody's graduation and seeing family so we didn't ride or anything like that. Very cool to hear you were nearby though and thank you for all the support Scott that is really cool to hear!
Are you planning to do more videos ? These are very inspiring for folks coming back seeing your progression. It would be cool to ride with you guys if you ever made it back east. I know Eddie, Stu and others are doing ride outs.
Dylan or RL. U guys r riding S&M. R u riding the ATF or something else cause I know RL likes flatland and such so wondered if the ATF had right head angle and size top tube and short or long chain stay. Love to hear what u to like and kinda why! Keep it up guys love the videos!

Very good point and thank you for sharing, I will be sure to try that out.

Great Video. RL's feeling that Skate Park vibe doing 360s cool. You should ride their more often. Everything gets better with more time on the bike.
Thank you Pablo and we are planning on riding this park much more frequently. Especially now that we have been kicked out of the parking lot....
