The Art of Catching Bees: Small Green Bee Eater in Action

Asian green bee-eater (Merops orientalis), also known as small green bee-eater is very common bird throughout Indian subcontinent (India, pak. Shri lanka, nepal, bhutan) It is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family.
These birds are mainly insect eaters eating (bee, dragonfly, butterflies and other fly) Bee eaters are found in thin scrub and forest often quite far from water. Often seen on electricity wires.
I observed during breeding season this bird rapidly catch 2-3 bees per minute and around 140-150 insect in just one hour.
