Hate to pile on here, but…… don’t sell a Pint-S without a Pint-S motor. S-series boards should include S-series motors, or it’s not an S-series board. Pretty simple math in my mind
it increases climbing capability but reduces top speed on the high end but Future Motion significantly limits their boards top speed anyway, so you're not likely to notice that
I like my onewheel. But FM has a way of making their consumers feel obsolete within weeks of buying a new board. And they need to realize that onewheels are a “big” purchase for most people. So making someone’s new board feel obsolete in just a few weeks takes a lot of satisfaction out of the purchase. It’s just not good for the sport in general when people are becoming weary of pulling the trigger on a new board bc they know the next one is only a few weeks out.
C'mon, like you didn't have this motor in the works a while ago before you released the Pint S. You would think your Pint S would come with an S-series motor but no.
These motors cost a lot more to make which would change the cost of the board. The included motors are still great but if you want to crank it up a bit you can choose to upgrade the motor on your set up!
@@Onewheel If you're worried about changing the cost of the board then change the name.. call it a Pint X+ and then for the REAL Pint S include a S-series motor and price it accordingly at like $1600-$1800.
@@Onewheel I will agree that the motor option should be included with the PintS to make it truly a stand out and above the pintX. I would have gladly paid for the new S motor with my pintX board not after and more cost with the additional motor that I can't use.
I got the GTS 6in hub motor already installed on my GT in anticipation of whenever i get an XR Classic. MY GTS is jealous of the attention the GT gets.
Wait so will the Pint-S Series (now with an S-Series motor which didn't exist previously) have a higher top speed than the Pint-S with a regular motor? If the XR Classic and Pint-S had a 22mph top speed, they would be in my collection already, as this allows for optimal cruising speeds without hitting pushback
So a XR Classic board can be upgraded with a GTS motor, but a classic XR board cannot be upgraded with a GTS motor... So what exactly is the XR Classic if it's clearly not a derivative of the OG XR?
I think people would have preferred the Pint S to have to have the S motor w/o the upgraded accessories (tire, handle, footpads), even if it costed like $1500. It makes sense but why wouldn't FM do this? I'm thinking it's a spec and marketing issue. Putting in stronger magnets while keeping everything else in the drivetrain the same usually means higher torque at the cost of top speed which they crucially omitted in this video. So to make the Pint S have better torque and speed over a Pint X it needs to have better drivetrain components all around, most importantly, the battery. But new battery and motor would place the Pint S at around a XR Classic or GT price which doesn't make sense from a marketing and product standpoint. With the price reduction of the Pint and Pint X, the Pint S has no purpose other than to fill a gap in the lineup but from a product perspective not a performance perspective; which is pretty whack IMO. And if you're considering a Pint S you might as well consider an XR Classic which is what they want you to do.
No you shouldn't they didn't actually put any real stats in this entire video. No watt rating or N/m of torque or anything just a vague line graph and some percents. Don't support this garbage without knowing if this motor will actually make any difference
@echobird115 your board will not become a GTS just because you install a GTS motor. Nothing will change aside from slightly better low end performance and thermals.
@@StephenMcElligott That is objectively true, go look at the data from a company like TheFloatLife that actually sells hubs with stronger magnets and they say it lowers your top speed. You won't hear anything like that from FM as they literally make no quantifiable claims about this motor, so who knows what it actually does. Probably nothing
Soooooo basically you have to spend 800bucks for a few percentages of more torque but not top speed? 🤔 Now if i could get one and it increased my speed then i could see me getting one. Hey at least you give us the option. 🤷🏿♂️

When we first buy a xrc can we have the option to just get it with the s series motor? Or do we have to buy the board and put the motor in ourselves?
Will the pint s motor finally unlock the advertised top speed of 20 mph? Meaning, push back will not start until 20 mph?
getting close XRC Series-S complete internal swap would be cool if you have the option when you spec out on checkout?
XRC-SS supersport
XRC-SSS Supersport 6
The best upgrade would be swappable battery cartriges, or the abillity to charge while riding from a reserve batt.
We always try to optimize for durability bc of the way folks ride these things. Unfortunately swappable batteries don't help in that regard.
@@Onewheel what durability?
Hate to pile on here, but…… don’t sell a Pint-S without a Pint-S motor. S-series boards should include S-series motors, or it’s not an S-series board. Pretty simple math in my mind
You’re cooked!
This is environmentally irresponsible
When we say “XR Classic”, does that also mean my 5 year old classic XR?
Pontiac had massive issues with naming conventions and i believe is 1 particular reason they went under.
Does this increase top speed? Or just uphill strength
Does not increase top speed. It affects torque and particularly in the low and mid speed ranges.
Increasing torque actually often comes at the expense of top speed. So, these motors likely do the opposite. Something to keep in mind.
It does not increase top speed, correct - it actually decreases it! You won’t find that advertised anywhere though.
it increases climbing capability but reduces top speed on the high end but Future Motion significantly limits their boards top speed anyway, so you're not likely to notice that
@@Onewheel More torque good not able to make the advertised 20mph is bad.
I can feel how not excited about this the people in the video are lol
When you say XR classic, do you mean the XR+ or the original XR?
You can fit a GT-S motor in an XR classic? Or did I miss hear something?
Yes mister Sandwich. You can and it's awesome!!!! Possibly the dream board.
XRC is basically just a GT on XR style rails
@@PoopTart3although XRC and GT share the same controller and footpads everything else is unique to the XRC including the way it handles
@@Onewheelwould I expect a loss of range pitting GTS motor in XRC? Thank you! I’ll definitely pick this up
@@zalla135 If it has stronger magnets then you will see a lower top speed but they don't want you to know any real specs
Would the GTS Motor fit a XR+?
Do u sell stock xr classic motor? or do I have to upgrade to the s series if it breaks?
All competition with the alternative VESC performance
I don’t think it’s legal for this item to NOT BE RETURNABLE! At least in my STATE!
Hate these creeps style
It is cause you agreed to their terms of service, and arbitration. Standard weasel corporate speak
Does this mean an XR Classic S Series is in the works?
Great news for Pints!
🙌
Why can't I upgrade my pint to a pint X/S battery configuration? That's what would hold me back with a motor upgrade.
Because the electronics in the Pint controller aren't designed for the power specs of the bigger batteries :)
@@HyperDash you can bang a Quart in there and rewheel it.
I got the GTS 6in hub motor already installed on my GT in anticipation of whenever i get an XR Classic. MY GTS is jealous of the attention the GT gets.
Why do you ride the GT more?
@@cspriggs96 How is a GT with a GTS motor better than a GTS?
Cause it's a GTV ;-)
It's a GTV ;-)
is it worth upgrading on the pint? or does it decrease range? and what about speed?
Wait so will the Pint-S Series (now with an S-Series motor which didn't exist previously) have a higher top speed than the Pint-S with a regular motor? If the XR Classic and Pint-S had a 22mph top speed, they would be in my collection already, as this allows for optimal cruising speeds without hitting pushback
So a XR Classic board can be upgraded with a GTS motor, but a classic XR board cannot be upgraded with a GTS motor... So what exactly is the XR Classic if it's clearly not a derivative of the OG XR?
It’s a GT with thinner profile rails and smaller battery cells
This is the lamest at to “Drop” a product..(fact)
Mignt put this in my PintX 🤙
do it!
@@Onewheel might do it. Need that extra torque for sure.
Lol told yall it wasn't a pintS just another 650$ and you'll actually have a pint s.....
Well kinda. 18 or 20s would have been nice.
Great chalk talk looks like I need to order another 6"S motor 🤝🪽
Glad you liked it
No you shouldn't they didn't actually put any real stats in this entire video. No watt rating or N/m of torque or anything just a vague line graph and some percents. Don't support this garbage without knowing if this motor will actually make any difference
@Onewheel with all these extra hub motors can y'all sell a wheelbarrow kit so we can have powered barrows out here
Does the S Series motor for Pint X affect range and battery life?
Say I upgrade my GT to the GTS motor, will the app know it’s a GTS? Or will it still think it’s like a GT and stop me at 20 instead of the 25 MPH?
@echobird115 your board will not become a GTS just because you install a GTS motor. Nothing will change aside from slightly better low end performance and thermals.
What does it compare to the top motor on the market? Funwheel superflux?
The S-series motor is pretty awesome but the superflux is superior at a cost of a few xtra pounds of weight.
does the upgraded motors make pushback happen earlier on pint or XR classics?
@@joshua1577 no. Speed push back is the same and torque pushback will come in less often
Stronger magnets will result in a lower top speed, but as evident by this video they don't want you to know the real specs of this motor
Nope, it'll happen at the same time.
@@CodedGames More misinformation.
8% + 5% = 13% not 12%
Soooooo basically you have to spend 800bucks for a few percentages of more torque but not top speed? 🤔 Now if i could get one and it increased my speed then i could see me getting one. Hey at least you give us the option. 🤷🏿♂️
This is great news. Been looking into upgrading from my Pint X, maybe this is the solution.
Yea it'll give you a pretty sizable performance bump
@@Onewheel what about mileage?
@@taylorgarbutt1918 I don't care about milage its never been my issue, its torque that I am looking for.
@@StephenMcElligott same here honestly.
@@StephenMcElligott you'll get slightly better ranger since the motor is more efficient most likely.
If I put the GT-S motor in my GT will the GT go 25MPH?
No
This gives me the option of tires for specific hubs. I definitely appreciate the flexibility. I don't feel the need for an entire new board.
Can I get a good Trade-In deal for my GT now?
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
So you're telling me
GTS comes with s motor
Pint s does not come with s motor
Yeah that makes a whole lot of sense keep up this business practice can't wait for you guys to go bankrupt
I wonder how fast the S-Motor will drain my original Pint battery.
@chuck80y might actually be slightly more efficient.
