Remnant 1&2 not only both have matchmaking, but they're also not looter shooters. The only 'loot' that drops from enemies and chests are consumables and upgrade materials. All guns are found in 'static' locations or crafted/bought, same with the armor. They're also incredibly fantastic games and I hope people don't get turned off from it because of this.

Guess it makes sense that Remnant doesn't score high on a scoring system designed around what you want to find in a looter shooter. That being said it *should* have been a 2/3 as it does have matchmaking once you get out of the tutorial.
Seriously, Remnant 1 is one of the best games of the 2010 decade. Remnant 2 is the same for 2020 for me. It's really more of a dark souls type of looter/rpg. Definitely has matchmaking.
Destiny 1 should be mandatory for eveyone to play who wants to persue an art related career. The game is a masterclass in Environment Art, Art direction, sound, light, skyboxes, and environmental storytelling. sad that they abandoned basically all of the science fantasy epicness they had going with d2...
Borderlands / Wonderlands isn't known for multiplayer. Most of the community plays it solo, it is just overall more enjoyable and more fluid for endgame players, which is what most the active playerbase does, so kinda makes sense on why you will never find games

Had a lot of fun. I tried to play the flame warlock thing but got locking into a glitch on the one mission with no way to reset it so... ruined the replayability but I liked my first char.

The borderlands series (TTW is part of it) always has satisfying loot drops, where it just explodes from the boss. Though the reason you didn’t find players is cause they’re either playing BL3, or waiting for BL4. For the matchmaking, think like Destiny when Forsaken came out - the community was there, just on the most recent update rather than an old one.
Also the fact that most people prefer to play solo anyways as it is the most smooth experience if you are farming for stuff and playing endgame. Most of the community prefers solo these days
Also i'd argue, that there is a massive differrence between a live service game and a looter shooter. Matchmaking and finding lobbies is a live service thing like we see in destiny and outriders. The entire Borderlands series and TTW even though it has matchmaking(The fact it even had a type of matchmaking suprised me) is a game you play alone or better with friends and thats it.

Also the matchmaking is different in both games BUT its more of an old school type match making where you join via a list of people from the menus or you leave your lobby open and people can join.
Remnant is not a traditional looter shooter because the gear you find in specific locations by solving puzzles, completing quests or hidden areas. Is much more a Souls Game with Bullets. Remnant 2 is definitely a MUST PLAY game btw

If we are talking about their peaks, The Division 1 is my favorite looter shooter. It just had something special going on, idk. The atmosphere in that game was just different, I also really loved all the new game modes we got via expansions, the global events, Dark Zone shenanigans with the boys. Man I miss that time, TD2 was ok but it just couldn't reach the first game at all.
i agree. they messed up TD2 because ubijerks execs wanted a new esport so they split the zone into smaller zones to force pvp shootouts over the extraction. no more avoiding pvpers. no more pvevp, just pvp and even the pvpers switched once conflict mode came online.
@surtr2538 Not sure I can agree with that statement. I played the game pretty actively over the entirety of its livespan and I can't say I ever noticed the DZ actually dying. Sure, at times it was pretty quiet, but that's to be expected with a game like this. It always managed to bounce back and keep players engaged.

I adore Remnant 1 and 2, both are some of my favorites out there. I have yet to dive into 2 at the same level I dove into 1, as I haven't bought the DLC yet, but both are pretty phenomenal imo
I will die on the hill that Shadow Warrior 3 should've been a looter shooter, SW2 is one of the best slashers i've played in a while, the story was dumb but fun and the gameplay was amazing, the chainsaw sword legit made me appreciate good first person melee games.
When I think of a looter shooter I think of a game with weapon rarities, loot dropped by both bosses and minions, and such. Remnant I wouldn't really put there while yes you kill bosses and loot them, they don't have "Rarities" in the sense something like Destiny or Borderlands has. I'd also argue Borderlands isn't necessarily like the other looter shooters where Destiny and them are specifically targeted towards making players team together, Borderlands isn't like that I'd argue it's mainly an offline/solo looter shooter calling it "Abandoned" isn't the right word I'd use, it's no where as popular as it once was I'll give you that, but it's still got a community albeit a tiny dwindling one (thanks Randy)

BL4 coming out, I love the series. It’s had its short comings, but it’s still pretty good. 1 Nostalgia - respect - lore o7, 2 Story and Levels, 3 movement and game play, Tiny Tina’s variety in build trees and end game level dial. outriders is actually a game I fondly remember. Got it with some friends while I was still playing on a relatively crappy laptop. Always had input issues when playing with friends and solo, but seeing it again really reminded me how much fun I had with it. Maybe someday i'll reinstall it, and play it again. Who knows, maybe I'll buy the dlc as well.

Rem 1 is not a looter shooter . Its a survival shooter ment to be more soulslike . Also u join from the character select screen the idea of those games is to play the harder difficulties and or survival mode and in the begining u survive with what u got
D2 cosmodrome is missing half the graphical things that actually make it look as fantastic as it is in D1. It just looks a bit empty and half finished.
I think one reason people load up D1 instead of D2 is because at least D1 didn't have the poor additions D2 has like Champs, minus power/power disabled, and has (in my opinion) the better versions of the D1 raids.
Hot take but I actually liked Outriders. I’m just disappointed that they fumbled the final boss fight and the post launch content. I didn’t play the expansion but I remember the story and how bleak the setting felt. Humanity was stuck on a planet that was constantly evolving to kill them specifically, and the survivors doing the one thing humans in survival situations: fuck themselves, eachother, and the environment up beyond repair. I’d love for the franchise to get picked back up again because the story kinda felt like Forever Winter levels of “everything is fucked and we’re definitely all gonna die”
Makes me really sad to see Outriders at 200 players. It was such a good game with such potential. If there was ever a game I quit Destiny to play, that would have been it.
Honestly Borderlands 3 is better than Tiny Tina's Wonderland because of the whole chaos levels annoyance. Also farming drops in Tiny Tina's is torture.

I remember the absolute RAGE we had playing with friends in d1 and salting when only one manage to get the drop everyone was looking for I remember still how my og clan was so done when i got both the ship and the black spindle in my first try of the mission (I was absolutely carried)
Remnant from the ashes is one the best games I’ve ever played the game is difficult when you first start if you play on anything past normal the puzzles are fucking amazing , so many build you can make , and a lot of replay ability imo . If you haven’t bought 2 or been thinking about picking it up do it the games great

Remnant has a matchmaking system you just have to progress past the first area to get to it. Its a pretty solid game though

I'd absolutely watch Sweat and some friends play through Borderlands 3 or Tiny Tina's Wonderlands.
Honestly Borderlands 3 is better than Tiny Tina's Wonderland because of the whole chaos levels annoyance. Also farming drops in Tiny Tina's is torture.

Dude Remnant games are not even looter shooters, not even live service games that could be considered "dead", it is a 3rd person souls-like shooter which can easily be considered a single player game with coop option, it does not apply to this "analysis"

Remnant from the ashes is one the best games I’ve ever played the game is difficult when you first start if you play on anything past normal the puzzles are fucking amazing , so many build you can make , and a lot of replay ability imo . If you haven’t bought 2 or been thinking about picking it up do it the games great

@@cwj2733 no, that does not make it a looter shooter. By that logic, Dark Souls is a looter. Borderlands has repeated farming, variance for each legendary gun, world drops, repeatable activities, and more variances. It is more similar to a Souls like.
I agree with D1 PvP being better than D2 for different reasons. Combined Arms and SRL.
