- Today we are using a cool soul sample from Lenny Wiliams - Because I Love You. No time stretching used for this one, only filtering and chopping.
Showing how it was recorded step by step, and a final human song mode performance ;P
Hope you like it!

So smooth and layed back.
Thank you! :)
Wow. Beyond my expectations. The strings were so nice g
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Nice mixing, really good beat.
Thank you! Really appreciated :)
Hard sample to approach after Kanye...I did years before but wouldn’t attempt it now. You have a good showing though.
Thank you!
I feel ya, my first beat sampled Blue in Green by Miles Davis, which was fine until I realized that Dilla had already used it. Deleted it out of respect for the king 😂
It doesn't matter who used what sample, flip it anyway. Its going to sound completely different to the original if you are creative.
Indeed. Apollos flip was better though, both gd but Apollos was my jam for ages. I don't think I'd personally try this one
This slaps man
🙏🙏💚
Dope beat nice soul vibe!!!
Thanks mate, cheers! :)
😻dope beats🔥🔥🔥
💚💚
I’m coming outta retirement in the chop shop 🔪 brings back memories 💯 keep up the good work!!!
Thanks mate! Keep the chopping up! 🙌
yessir nice!
thank you sir! :)
Ahhhh this is so fucking cool! 🙀
💚💚 Thanks! :)
Damn nice, I'm subbing, great vibes
Thanks bro! :)
🤩 jog wheel mod!? Nicy nice!
Yessir, from mpcstuff hehe ;) Thanks!
Ugh you have the perfect setup! Sick beat too :)
Could you maybe draw a diagram of how you have everything setup?
Thank you! 💚
As for the setup, for this one it's nothing special, really. Turntables go to the mixer, and the mixer has 2 outputs. One goes to the amp for playing, the other to the MPC for sampling. Then the MPC goes to the amp too. The amp has a preamp hooked to the pc to record, and that´s basically it! 😉
Thats crazy Mann
Thanks mate! Really appreciate it!
Dope Beat Brother.Perfect 😍🤌
Thanks man! 🙏
Make you a celebrity overnighhttt
Damn son that beat is so freakin good🔥🔥🔥 nice to see that you have the old technics mixer! What's the other little mixer?
Thanks bro! Yeah, that mixer has history hehe. The little one is a Mackie 2 track multi to channel everything together into the M-Audio interface :)
@@omeprasoul nice. I'm thinking about for a long time to get a mixer.
👍👍👍
💚😁💚😁
Yo thats so fuckin dope. Still bro
Thanks mate! Appreciate it! :)
is this a Type II Flash Card? doen't you have a Hard Drive installed? i got one with 80GB HD, works flawlessly
Hi! Yeah, it is, 2 GB! Hahaha! Got several of them from back in the day. Never got around to installing a hard drive though, i went to MPC Touch and then Live II.... i really need to make some new videos lol :D
Hey, nice demo! Would you say it is worth buying a MPC 1000 in 2021? I mean as a standalone device if i'm already using a DAW (Studion One) or does it make more sense to use the DAW directly or something like the MPC ONE?
Hi, thank you! :)
Well, there are pros and cons to MPC1000... it sounds great, not as good as say, a 2000XL, but still great. It is pretty clunky though, the screen sucks, the OS sucks and needs to be replaced, and you will have to record your beats connecting its output to your line-in like an instrument, it does not even export wavs or anything. Personally, i went for a modern device (Touch first, then Live II) just for integration with the pc and to avoid line recording and the rage from the gameboy controls and screen, and life is better :P
@@omeprasoul Thank you for your honest reply - i appreciate that. Somehow it seems to be very interesting to work "old-fashioned" with a mpc, but in the end i think i will also be more productive using a pc.
It's the Bass patch for me! Sounds better than alll of my workstations. Where did you get that bass sample from?
Thanks bro! That bass is from one of Cookin Soul's drumkits, dont know which one specifically but probably Jet Life vol 1... Cookin Soul never fails! :D
@@omeprasoul Thanks a mil! I'm not a guy tho😁😁😁 Oh can it be used as a Keygroup or is it just a sample?
@@ameeromedia5883 Haha sorry, my bad! 😅 The sample is a single one shot .wav file, and what i'm doing here is putting it on a regular drum program and using 16 levels for tune. On newer MPCs you can create a keygroup program from a single sample file too, and it kinda works the same way, so yes to both 🤪
@@omeprasoul 😆 Its otay. Thanks for the information! I have an MPC Live 2. I'm going to have to look up how to do all the extra stuff (making keygroups from one shots) becaue that bass sounds too good. Can you use the new mpc expansions on the older mpcs?
@@ameeromedia5883 Ah, if you got a live the keygroup thing is really easy. Just go to a new track, and make it a keygroup track by selecting the little keyboard icon (3rd one in the upper row as of right now :p). Then it will create an empty keygroup program for you. Then u go to Program Edit, Samples, and there u can assign the sample that will be 'scaled' across all pads. You can even layer up to 4 samples!
Do we need a mixer to sample from vinyl on the 1000?
Hey! It really depends on the turntable. The MPC1000 does not have a phono input with the static / grounding hook, so if your turntable is classic and has a phono output you cannot. If it is a modern turntable with a normal line output, then yes, you should be able to hook it to your record in without static
i'm not here to talk smack because i wish i could do this too but... BUT... whats the difference in doing this in about 3 mins or less on FL studio? i get its fun doing it this way but..
Hey! Thanks for commenting! The difference is basically the level of masochism you are willing to subject yourself to haha :D
But seriously now, i do most of my work on DAWs and more modern machines, nowadays i have a Live II. The old machines have a particular sound and feel to them, but in the case of the 1000 it is not so noticeable compared to the convenience of using a more human friendly machine/software. In my particular case, i am also pretty attached to this little fker, and i like to show the process in the videos, but yeah, you are absolutely right :D
it's funny how similar my process is on this machine😁
Hehehe! This is the way! :D
Thanks for commenting :)

Thanks bro!
Would you recommend a mpc live or mpc 1000 for a beginner?
Hey! In a nutshell, If you are just getting into it, i would def recommend one of the newer models, specially because of pc integration and ease of use, so Live (or Touch). You could even download the software for free from Akai and see if it works for you.
I'm planning to make a video about this, because a lot of people usually ask about it, so stay tuned! 😉
I’m using a MacBook Pro Mid 2012 MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 and I wouldn’t mind having a 1000 or the Black MPC Studio Black that came out over 5 years ago my issue is will Akai’s operating system for either sampler support support the MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 ?
Hey mate! If i am understanding correctly, you want an MPC to plug to your computer, right? In that case, you need to go for the MPC Studio instead of the 1000. The MPC1000 and all of the 'vintage' ones do not integrate with your OS. If you want to get sound out from the 1000 to your computer you need to record it as an instrument through line in. Old MPCs are stand alone and do not integrate with anything in your computer except MIDI, but thats not what you want i think. You should go with MPC Studio, which comes with MPC Software (Akai's DAW) and you can use it as VST in all your other DAWs. As for the MPC Studio version, i think it should be compatible, but not sure about it, make sure.
Hope this helped! Cheers! :D
@@omeprasoul Thanks! for responding I think that I will go with the MPC Studio Black that Akai released over 5 years ago because the MPC Studio MK2 that they released over a year ago is completely trash 🗑️ & it has a small LED light so once I get me a Mpc Studio Black & a Roland JV-1080 I will be straight✊🏾
@@HowYouMove Go for it! 🔥
@@omeprasoul I just ordered a brand new 2016 MPC Studio black off EBay for $160🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 I am happier then a hooked making tips ✊🏾
