I honestly don't get why this scene faced a lot of backlash. Jennie was literally sitting with a standard nurse uniform (in my opinion) holding a clipboard, rapping, what is sexy about that? Where is the sexy portrayal in that scene? I'm just saying that if a male idol did the scene, he wouldn't face as much backlash as Jennie/BP did. SK needs to stop with the patriarchal bs.
@@young19boy I meant sexy in the conventional sense and sexy literally means sexually attractive or exciting, dear. ;-) While I agree that sexiness is not nudity and the like, I still stand with my argument that there was not a "sexy"/"sexual" portrayal of a healthcare worker, nothing in that scene objectified the said HCW, which was the main argument of the Union that criticized Jennie's scene. Yes, Jennie can be sexy and all those other adjectives but her portrayal of the HCW was not sexual/sexy in any form - meaning she did not readily sexualize the HCW persona. That is what I meant by my comment, ok? That's why I firmly believe that YGE should have defended Jennie. I was also pointing out that if a male idol did that scene, he wouldn't receive as much backlash as Jennie did, highlighting the double standards in SK. YGE should also have said something or defended their artist but they did nothing aside from deleting that scene. Now, this might be just another cover up of a bigger scandal from the company executives just like what happened before, we wouldn't know til it surfaces.

I don't think there are a lot of feminists in Korea, seeing as the population is still largely conservative and the culture is still somewhat patriarchal. The Union that called made Jennie's scene an issue is a union of healthcare workers, feminists did not have an issue with Jennie's scene. While objectification/sexualization of HCW in popular media is still rampant, I don't think Jennie's scene is adding more fuel to the fire as what they say. It's really just a reach for that union. As what I've said earlier, YGE must have been using that "issue" as a cover up for another company scandal. I just wanna add that there is nothing wrong with being a feminist.
