You can’t help but to love Billy after this. He put EVERYTHING into that team, it wasn’t a joke for them and he didn’t take it as a joke. I’m proud of him. They honestly really did play well.
Haha, he took it so seriously it was scaring the players! They really did play well and should've won... should've had a leadoff touchdown that got incorrectly called a turnover on downs.
He really felt responsible for the loss, like he let them down, but he didn't; it was stuff outside of his control. If I played in that game I wouldn't feel like I lost, lol. That was just cheap, even though I don't think Kenya was necessarily cheating... it just wasn't organized as well as it needed.

Unfortunately it's not really a scam... It's the culture of many African countries. Greasing the wheels isn't getting scammed it's getting your end result achieved.
Masai Ujiri, GM of the Toronto Raptors, has had a basketball camp program across Africa for more than a decade now and there's a great Real Sports piece on the camp. He books a gym months in advance for these kids to learn from NBA players and coaches and the greedy gym owner knowingly double booked it for a concert in half of the gym so they couldn't play. He made a pretty impassioned speech about how that is bullshit and those kids need to become leaders and demand change.
Giants of Africa is the name of the program, as well as a documentary about it. Well worth watching to help better understand the nuance of working in Africa.

Honestly Billy Football has gained so much respect for this he truly cares about those kids and helping spread the sport! I'd love to see billy football become a huge deal in providing these countries that cant afford pads and jerseys and just spreading the sport
this really put into perspective how complicated it is to run/manage an american football game. It's true for all sports i guess. But this showed how the overhead of clock management, officiating, equipment allocation, grounds crew, etc can be really challenging for areas that are underexposed to the game. We're spoiled by that here in the US. Even a peewee game has the infrastructure for everything to run smoothly. Hopefully you guys can get back for another game and work out how to bring some refs and other game production folks to share knowledge. Great video as always, don. thanks

Maybe for s#!t hole countries like Uganda, for the majority of somewhat developed countries it's not exactly rocket science.
I'm inclined to think it's more so just entirely an 'africa' thing mate. Compared to what we're used to in the west, they couldn't organise a root in a brothel over there.
It's not like this was a spur of the moment event but we get the bus transfers arriving at kick off. A representative from the Weganda American Football association couldn't be bothered turning up to referee, uniforms and gear on hand at the last minute, no communication in regards to how the game clock would operate due to the lost time etc. It's the kinda place where if you plan to be at x spot for lunch at 1.30pm, then you best start making your way there shortly after breakfast.
Not Dim Sim Dons or Billie's fault but it's a good lesson for the next time in Operation Redemption. Shit needs to be planned like a military operation with not one, not two, but almost a handful of 'go to' plans for each and every objective.
in peewee football for me you had to take your equipment home and bring it with you when your parents or friends parents give you a ride to the game i would wear my eqipment from 6 am even if the game was at 2pm@@yeahnah7220

But yeah the rest of Barstool is weird. They are so focused on the employees of Barstool and all this corny drama between them. People seem to go nuts online for it too. Almost has a cult like vibe. The whole thing is so weird man lmao.
Then you have someone like Donnie who is genuinely creating some of the most unique and fun to watch stuff on the Internet. Barstool doesn't promote it at all and doesn't give Donnie the financial backing he deserves.
Unfortunately it seems like Barstool has found that shoveling garbage faux drama to their weird super fans is far more profitable. Compared to actually telling stories and crafting something to actually be proud of. It's a shame really.

This was awesome Donnie. Please keep makin videos cause I really enjoy them so much. Billy was a trooper on this whole thing. He gave 110% of what he had to try to get those guys a win, and even got shook for $1k before the game and didn’t care to take the bullet to make the game happen. If you guys get the uniform situation and the refs sorted out, I think you could win a game for those guys cause you could actually focus on playing the game instead of all that nonsense
