Sometimes I look down at the desk and find the most random things have been made... people ask me how I come up with these things, well I don't know, who makes an origami cactus? Well me. 😅
The Tapered Origami Box ( • Tapered Origami Box / ... ) was made specifically because the origami cactus didn't look good in a regular masu box.
The cactus in the thumbnail is the one made with 2 sheets of paper. It works better if you use paper that has some texture. The thin crispy origami paper just slides around, I can imagine you'd need to secure them together with glue if you use that kind of paper.
The 'pebbles' are crumpled pieces of paper obviously.

If the confusion hits you around 7:23 the same way it hit me at first, go back to the start of the video and repeat the same steps you just did on the first cacti piece until about 6:15. Then open it up and you’ll be caught up to where she’s starting from for the next piece.

from 7:09 I get confused.. you show us the puffy thing then switch to a bit of paper ive not seen and im now left with 7 minutes worth and then nothing because I have no idea what you pulled out at 7:24. I have watched it 6 times.
And then there’s me, a proper noob, attempting this with construction paper and failing miserably.
Saber 5000 and then there’s me, trying to figure out to see the size then forget it again just to only, start over
Not me using sticky notes-
If you are confused about 7:10-7:22, what’s happening is that you have to unfold the whole diamond shape, and and follow the instructions following 7:22. (Technically the folds at the right before the 7:10 mark were pointless but I found out that at 10:03, I could fold the flaps in each other again, and then fold in half to get the desired cactus shape. So Ig that’s what the person in video was initially trying to do?)
I know you have other flower tutorials, but it would be so cool to see if there are any other types of flowers you can make with the tapered base to fit into the flower pot?

I know that this comment is about a year ago,but I’ll still answer it. If you’re curious on how she got it from the first one she showed us how to make into the one she was holding at 7:10 it was another cactus look. She showed us how to make the first one, and the one she was holding was the second one she was going to show us how to make. I hope this cleared it up

Wait. What happened at 7.05 to 7.11. We made one thing and then that was put to one side and then had nothing more to do with the design and we then shortcutted into a brand-new origami structure with no folding instructions. I'm totally confused
Sorry about that! Hopefully, you got it as you watched, that I had finished the pointed one, next I showed what the next one looks like when finished, you create another one exactly the same and then it shows what needs doing to make that smaller one.

This isn'r recreatable for me. So much time wasted just to find out the bottom part doesn't fit into the upper part because of the tutorial lacking in what the heck is going on and why. -.-"

i followed every step and i don't see how the two bits fit together? what i have looks like an ice cream cone. i can't push the "cone" into the bottom of the "ice cream scoop" because there isn't that much room and if i push it'll tear. rather confused.

It's funny you should say that, I was looking at trying to make one like an aloe plant, but ended up with this cactus. I'll keep trying though 😄

Are there two types of cacti
Yep kindof, you can use two of them, which is the tall one, and just one will be a small one, also you can make more than 2.. make a really tall one :)
oh and yeah you can shape the top differently like at 7:02 :)

I love this channel! This channel's origamis are very useful mostly the stepper box which I really liked and THIS SUPER KAWAII CACTUS!!! I LOVE IT!!!
My favorite thing about this video is that the first cactus you fold will make a super Christmas tree ornament. And you could even put little red beads or something in the pockets. I have so many origami ornaments and it looks like I'm about to have a lot more. Thanks so much!!

Sorry if it isn't clear, that's why I remade the cactus video, you can find the new one on my channel. After that time in the video, I just made another cactus the same way in order to show how to get the correct reverse fold... I'm not sure what you mean by flower though.
